The store is always well stocked, the staff is constantly putting out merchandise. With the check in Kiosk, it makes shopping there a real pleasure. I have always had a pleasant shopping experience at this branch. I particularly like their deli, produce and bakery department and their large selection of coffee. This branch is very clean and organized, and the staff are professional and helpful. One can run in and out thanks to their self serve line. Grocery stores on Long Island are mediocre at best. There are always some exceptions, but those stores tend to be a bit pricier (or harder to find). My wife and I have always shopped at Stop & Shop because of the low prices and wide selection, but we typically find our local stores to be dirty and cramped (and very very busy, especially on peak days/hours of course). Upon a recommendation from a neighbor, we decided to venture a bit further to try this Stop & Shop location. We're so glad we did! The store can still get fairly crowded and not everyone is necessarily following the one-way aisles, but visiting off peak is a pleasure, and even when it is busy, we find the selection here is a bit wider than most Stop & Shop locations. It's especially clear when you visit the more specialized food sections that more options are available. We also always find the produce to be very fresh, and there have been very few cases where we were not able to find what we were looking for. What impresses me most about this store is the organization, especially during the COVID era. Aisles are clearly marked with arrows to indicate which direction you should be walking. In addition, there are sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer at the entrance (although to be fair, they are usually all out by the time we arrive). I'm also really impressed by the checkout system. Rather than have a line form at each point, there is one long line (with social distance markers) that extends down the dairy/bread aisle, where people tend to finish their shopping anyway. At least one employee is then directing the next guest in line to the appropriate cash register, and when you arrive, there's usually just one person in front of you almost done bagging their groceries. In general, we have found every employee here to be friendly and effective at their jobs. We also find the store to be generally clean and always well-stocked (except for those coveted items like paper towels and toilet paper, which is only to be expected in 2020). Overall, we're very happy that we found this Stop & Shop and we're sure to be back routinely! read more

Key points for this particular S&S.. The majority of the staff is pleasant and helpful. There used to be a guy at self checkout that was so sweet... Haven't seen him in a while... I've read a few past reviews, I have also had mix ups with pricing.... It pays to pay attention!!! ---be a savvy consumer.... Coupons come in the mail, manufacture coupons can be doubled, tons of sales.... Easy layout of the store. However, I know it's just me, but whenever I find a random Love item, it suddenly never appears again! Liberté black cherry yogurt? Replaced with pomegranate Gardein meatballs? Replaced with steak tips. Small particulars of my own, worth a mention, not judging. Typical times that is too crowded to shop- Saturday and Sunday afternoon, better to go weekday after 8 pm. At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, this Stop & Shop location decided to remodel their entire store. Could the people running Stop & Shop possibly be that stupid and careless? Yes, they are. During the pandemic, the common sense guidance was to maintain social distance. Stop & Shop, decided that remodeling their store was the right thing to do without any regard to their customer's well-being during this deadly pandemic. During their remodeling, they did two things that prevented their customers from social distancing: 1. They narrowed the shopping aisles by putting additional product racks in many of the already narrow aisles, thereby making it very difficult for shoppers to social distance safely. When this was brought to local store management attention and upper corporate management, they ignored it. 2. While the store was being remodeled, all of the items previously in aisles familiar to their customers, were now in different aisles. This caused customers to spend extra time in the store searching for their products, potentially exposing themselves to Covid-19 infection. When this was brought to local store management attention and upper corporate management, they ignored it. Then, to make matters even worse, they shut down one of their 2 store exits, forcing shoppers to have to funnel through only one exit for the entire store, making social distancing completely impossible, putting shoppers at risk of possible Covid-19 infection. 3. During the height of the pandemic, store employees were routinely seen wearing masks pulled down beneath their noses, or masks hanging around their necks. When local store management and upper corporate management was alerted to this, they simply shrugged and did nothing about it. The pandemic is lessening now, but new, negative issues have arisen: Extremely rude attitudes and behavior from most of the employees in the store ranging from the checkout clerks to the managers of this store who have a complete disregard for their customers concerns and their employees, too. Their self-checkout machines waste customers time even more than previously by forcing customers to have to go through a ridiculous process of bag/item weighing and items often get rejected in the process which then draws the clueless self-checkout employees into the process, furthering the amount of time the customer has to wait for resolution. Yes, as you may have concluded from my report: Shopping at Stop & Shop is a disaster to be avoided if at all possible. A new store named Lidl recently opened in the area. Lidl has pleasant employees who express an interest in helping their customers, unlike Stop & Shop. But even better, Lidl's prices range 50% to 75% lower than Stop & Shop's prices for similar items. I recommend that those of you reading this in this area, begin patronizing Lidl, since the customer experience and pricing there is far superior than those at Stop & Shop. This review is solely my opinion about this business and you might find that your experience differs from mine. With that said, I cannot recommend shopping at this store and highly recommend that shoppers shop elsewhere. read more

Went shopping today at this location as they are well stocked with many items. The store was very very busy and the lines were super long. Went to stop by the ladies restroom and was greeted by a bathroom closed sign. Iam 7 months pregnant so I really needed to use the bathroom. I find it disturbing that a big store like this has broken restrooms. I even saw an employee leaving the restroom and get severely screamed at by I would assume a manager. He was screaming about feces and told her to go home to use the bathroom. That was really outrageous behavior by a manager. I left my empty wagon and promptly went back to my car to go to my home to use the bathroom. Maybe that guy manager would like the customers to go home too. It is the general stereotype that ladies like to shop... For me though, I hate shopping. Except for food...especially at this food store...my happy place! Lost, in a good way. I made my way up and down aisles as if it were only me in the store. We had a connection! I know this is sounding sick! I seriously bonded with S&S... Prices were under my tight budget and I loved the variety. After I established a more local apartment, I explored the Oceanside, Atlantic Ave. Stop and Shop. Again, I discovered this was gonna be my go-to-food-shop-spot. Walk in and immediately presented with flowers and produce. Totally geared to the ladies. (haha!) I have never done the self-checkout/scanner thingy but, it is right there to the right of the door. I just love perusing the aisles...a mindless therapy for me. Sundays are not the best day to go do a big shop (even though that is my "food shop" day :/.) A lot of empty shelves, sale items gone...on a Tuesday, after the shelves are bustling, yup. Place to head over to. Produce is super fresh from veg to fruit. Have bought fish straight off the block, as well as amazing chicken breast and skirt steaks. I love that they have Polar Seltzers (season / limited edition-wide.) When I drank Red Bull, there were always sale prices. Aisles are wide and you don't feel as if you are always in someone's way. The only aisle I hate (with a full cart) is the dairy/bread aisle. Oh, and the frozen veg/meal aisle. Always packed... The bakery I have not used yet but, it smells beyond amazing, especially when I am food shopping for healthy-ish items! Tease! Parking is no no nonsense for your in and out trips. I shopped here last Thursday afternoon, 4/30. No one is socially distancing in this supermarket. No one is paying attention to the direction arrows in the aisles. People were passing by me in the aisles within maybe 1-3 feet of me. People were coming up behind me, and from the other direction in front of me with 2 or 3 feet between us. It's a health danger in this pandemic, and I am scared and anxiety ridden wondering if I'm going to get sick. The staff is friendly and helpful, but when I asked for something I couldn't find, one staff person came right up to me, nose-to-nose, and I don't think she was wearing a mask! I will not shop here again while this pandemic rages. It is dangerous. P.S. I bought two packages of Quorn "Meatless Grounds" only to find they expired two weeks ago, which Quorn says is unsafe, too!! read more

I live in Long Beach and never shop at the LB Stop and Shop because it is horrible. When it switched from Waldbaums to S&S I thought it would be better but its not. So I drive to the one in Oceanside. I have been shopping there for years. Everything is great except THE BATHROOMS ARE A NIGHTMARE. People have to use the restrooms and these are disgusting. Not only do you have to walk through a dark, dingy, storage area, when you finally get to the bathroom it feels like someone is gonna jump you from behind. Its scary and dirty. Think about changing your restrooms to the front of the store and having someone clean them. read more

These 3 stars go to the cashier helping at self checkout , she was awesome. I bought a package of steaks, they were greenish which I truly didn't expect and made me nauseous as they cooked on the stove after cutting away the greenish looking parts. The stop and shop brand soy sauce I bought had NO seal, not under the cap nor outside the bottle. The stop and shop brand chickpeas I bought in a bag looked beat up, bruised and old even after sorting, rinsing and soaking. I don't know , I guess I expected a better experience from a supermarket in such an upscale neighborhood. I will never return here again. I literary wasted $40 read more

This is by far the worst supermarket I have ever gone to. Every single time I come here they are out of something. Not obscure items. Milk , margarine or items that are staples. Meat and fish departments are a joke. Never open or the clowns in there are as helpful as a fire hydrant. So as of today I am officially done with this fiasco . If every time I come here I have to go somewhere else to finish shopping, why come at all? Time to start using the new king kullen in island park. This store is a disgrace. I went there 0n April 10, 2020 to pick up a few things. The store was jammed, there was control on the number of people in the store. The aisles were jam packed, there was no way you could keep a 6 foot distance or avoid contact. After 2-3 minutes I just left my cart and exited the store. These people have no concern about the well being of their customers and have made no modifications to account for the corona virus issue. The manager of the store should be fired. read more

Huge supermarket. This rating is for one manager... Herman. He confirmed our little Mickey Mouse doll was found after our littlest dropped it from the stroller. He called us to say it was found and kept it safe until we picked it up. Very happy with this service. As an aside, the lines are usually pretty quick moving. This business fired me when I was diagnosed with cancer and didn't believe my days off. I have doctor documents and everything to prove my situation, I am still receiving paperwork from union which didn't have a meeting to save my job. The company collects donations to support the diease in October that's when I was getting ready to have surgery and in December I was 5 min late I was written up. I am going further with this but after surgery and chemo and just getting my mind almost together. I am finally starting to feel I was done wrong, I never called in sick I always worked for any employer who needed me to work. the staff did not believe that I was going to doctors appointment for having breast cancer like that is a lie somebody would make up. I did return after my surgery feeling that maybe I could work but I was working for another company that worked as a partner for shop and stop the manager of the store saw me with no hair I had hair to my waist. I'm posting this to the public I live in Oceanside and I feel that the public needs to know that Management of stop & shop need to do something in reguards to what they did to me. I was a 40 year old female working in the month of October when they were collecting donations wearing pink bandanas for breast cancer and did not believe that I had breast cancer and when I showed up 5 minutes late one day for they wrote me up. read more

This place is kind of dirty to start. I placed my deli order at the kiosk and went shopping. After 35 minutes, I went to pick up my order and it wasn't ready but he was busy helping other customers that had just walked up and kept taking them. I ended up standing around for another 15 minutes while he worked on other customers that kept coming up after I arrived to pick up my order. Did I mention the store was dead and there were two people at the counter moving at the speed of zombie? These people are hopeless!! read more

This is my favorite grocery store and because we do not live close it is a treat when we get to make the trek to this store. The aisles are wide and the store is very clean. The employees are friendly and very helpful and I do not think I have had a bad experience yet (knock on wood). I went out to purchase some items at Stop and Shop this morning.I was extremely careful to check the sale prices on each item and to confirm that was indeed the item I had purchased. When I got to checkout I was astonished to learn that several items I purchased were not rung up as being on sale even though the shelf display and a rather large display I saw when I entered the store indicated otherwise. I called over the manager who stated there was an error in the organization of the display and she did not know why some of the items were being rung up at a higher price.They then after my protest she adjusted some of the items and refunded some others. It should not be my responsibility to check on the accuracy of store prices.Most shoppers take the bill for granted and walk out without checking it. The error this time was over 20.00 or 25% of my bill a unconscionable amount. I was surprised by such a problem from a usually efficient and well stocked supermarket chain.This is a poor business practice and I will not be returning back to this location. read more

It's a nice clean store because it's brand new. So it's got the new car smell. But the selection and the freshness is questionable. One example, that finally motivated me to write this review is I went there just yesterday to buy Halloween candy, and a lot of the candy tastes stale. One of the bags (a bag of Snickers) actually expires 11/2011. I didn't notice it in the store, but I got it of the central display where they had all the Halloween candy. It's where I also pulled a bag of Twix, and while that doesn't expire soon, the crunchy cookie part is quite try and the caramel is hard. Could just be a bad bag, but it could also be that this Stop & Shop's manager decided to unload some old stock this way. When I consider that I often cannot find what I need at this store and have to go elsewhere anyway, I don't think I'll be going back anymore. Even despite the cleanliness and ample parking. read more
