I've been to many Trader Joe's in my lifetime and I feel this one was less chaotic. Perhaps I went at an off time, but I felt the vibe was great. Shelves were packed and organized. Employees were friendly. My cashier was Stephen. W. He was a delight and made some small talk. He apologized to me when one of my items wouldn't ring up. I told him it wasn't his fault and not to apologize. Someone came over really quick and then came back with a price in about 2 minutes. Talk about speed! The girlfriend and I were looking for a small Christmas tree and had stopped into several local stores just prior to grocery shopping at TJ's. It's a good thing that we didn't buy one because they actually had a decent selection of very affordable micro Christmas trees! While I could fit a regular size tree in my apartment, I didn't really feel like picking up pine needles for weeks after the holidays and their tiny tree really hit the mark! It came with cute wooden ornaments that look like they were made from a CNC machine. I put some 3M remote controlled usb-powered lights around them and wallah... a beautiful little tree for my little apartment! Check out the photos. Ok I love Trader Joe's and the employees are always so nice .. but that parking lot !! The parking is crazy lol and the store is pretty small. But what makes it worth it is their products. I love their frozen meal section and the flowers. I always get my flowers from TJs and they're always so nice. I love trying their new and seasonal products and they have fun promos for holidays. read more

Staff is always friendly. So far, we have not seen empty shelves and they have the best selection of flowers. We even got cut peonies here which we rarely see. Highly recommend the Korean short ribs which do cook up and taste like it came from a Korean bbq place. Their chocolate chip cookies are also some of my favorite ones. This trader Joe's parking lot is tight and limited in comparison to other locations. It can definitely be tricky getting in and out since there's so much traffic coming in. But the store itself is more manageable to shop, as the crowds inside aren't has heavy as their other locations. The staff is always friendly and helpful here too. It's definitely a less anxiety inducing experience to come here, since alot of the shoppers are more small population locals. Plus out of all the locations, this particular location has the best fresh flower availability, especially during peony season. Over the last 4 peony seasons this has been the only location where I've scored the freshest and prettiest peonies. read more

So happy for the experience my Dad and I had hanging out at this Oceanside, NY TJ's. This location is a bit smaller than my usual Trader Joe's spots, but has enough room with their signature layout. They ran out of some of my regular items, but a helpful TJ's employee suggested an alternative which once home turned out perfectly. Now I have two perfect options to choose between in future. I also needed assistance with an item a few aisles over. Found another helpful employee who took his time and researched on his Tablet when this new brand of product will be coming in. Talk about going the extra helpful mile! Trader Joe's allows you to enjoy life experiences while shopping for groceries with loved ones if you let it, provides extra helpful and friendly service, can't forget the decent prices, and the extra plus of easy to prepare products. Trader Joe never felt like a supermarket to me, but more of a specialty store. There are plenty of food items you will find here that you won't elsewhere. Most are prepackaged, processed of frozen. The "fresh" food is at a minimum. Don't get me wrong you will find some fruits and vegetables. But this is why I say it's less of a grocery store and more of a specialty store. It is an especially good source of goodies for people who are more plant-based or not eating as much meat. I find so many tasty options that have no meat. There's a really tasty Indian rice option with raisins and dumplings. I also like their scallion pancakes. Impossible makes fake chicken nuggets. They are 10 dollars a bag in other stores. They are $6.99 at Trader Joe. They have a wide variety of flavored sausages, cheeses, hummus and cold cute. They have a lot of prepackaged lunch meat and snack style items. Great for throwing in the refrigerator or not having a thing too hard about lunch. I recently got these little packages of hummus with crackers. The hummus is slightly sweet and the crackers aren't too hard. The crack is real actually remind me of pita chips. When you check out there is an actual human. No self checkout. You bring Your car to the register. They take it off and place the items on the counter for scanning. They pull your cart to the other side. Your items are banned and placed right back in your cart. I don't know how much they get paid, but back in the days we would give these people tips. Nothing wrong with sliding a worker a few dollars on the low. One of my favorites, aside from the parking lot. TJ's is TJ's. It's usually no wait to get in, shop, and check out. Sometimes food items are out of stock, and there's no clear understanding of when they'll be restocked. Overall this is a quaint location, but they fit everything in well. read more

Love coming here! This store is always clean and the staff members are helpful. They also were wearing tie dye shirts the last time I went in. Very cute idea and helps them stand out in a crowd. Everything is very fresh here. I like that they have nuts that are sliced and unsalted. Those are very hard to find anywhere else. I also like that this store is never super crazy packed like how Trader Joe's locations are in Manhattan. This place also has free samples if you're into that (near the back corner). I made a quick trip to this Trader Joe's during these COVID-19 times... This location has the patrons line up outside and they allow you in one by one to ensure the store isn't crowded. When I arrived there were about 15 "groups" (bc ppl don't always shop alone) in front of me. Surprisingly, the wait to get in was probably 12-15 minutes which wasn't bad. Thankfully the sun wasn't beaming down on us. At one section, they've put up an awning to provide some shade. Luckily, The line was constantly moving and we got in fairly quickly. As you entered, you were given a wipe to sanitize your cart handle and they provide sanitizer for your hands. The store has a good amount of people inside, but it was easy to navigate without bumping in to people. Everyone was pretty respectful of each other's space. The workers were active and ready to assist the patrons without being too overwhelming. I was able to find most things on my list and there was no waiting in line to checkout. The cashier was pleasant and did a great job packing my items. I'll go back to this location. read more

I was on lookout for grump trees for so long. Trader Joe's is the only place to get it. They're like mini grinch trees and they're so cute! They grow up to 30 feet and are lemon scented. This world is as such that you maybe in need one day also. Trader Joe's please teach your management staff to be compassionate to people in need. I am a ardent fan of this Trader Joe's, from the management (eg, Tom, one of the most personable "Captains", and with the most earnest intentions on how his staff should relate to us customers), to cashiers (who, when they found out I was going through cancer treatment, gave me a bouquet of flowers), to Tony (the "Samples Guy" who doles out culinary and life wit and wisdom), to the special needs workers, who help keep the shelves in order and share life experiences with folks like me. I always find something (else) that I want to purchase, even if I have come in for a different item. I just love the welcoming personalities here, from the quirky, to the warmth, to the feeling that, even though this is part of a chain, we are made to feel like cared-for customers coming into your local shop. I like and appreciate the folks here enough that I decorate and bring in a basket of candy for everyone at Chanukah/Christmas time. read more

I love shopping at all Trader Joe's, this one was well stocked on a Saturday evening. Didn't get everything I needed since we were in a rush but got my basics.. chicken stock... always need that in my pantry.. salad, cheese, bread, Italian sausage... so good for pasta...Japanese fried rice, so good on it's own but I always add lots of ingredients to make a real meal. Since I didn't have much time to browse.. I didn't get a chance to see if they had samples or coffee. Sometimes I get a lil cup of coffee just so I don't have to make some at home. Their pet dept is a bit limited. Their dry cat food isn't the best quality so I bought some wet cat food for a couple of strays we feed. Priced well since it's a big can compared to the ones at the supermarket. Not loving the smell of the wet cat food and cleaning up the cans afterwards...would be great if they had more than 3 varieties. read more

I'm a single African American hardworking mother, who uses EBT and Corporate Food Checks that I receive from a program I'm in for women reuniting with their children after facing hardships such as domestic violence, incarceration, homelessness etc . On every occasion I've visited this location of Trader Joe's I'm always watched uncomfortably close and when I present my form of payment EBT/Butterball Checks I'm always met with an embarrassing level of scrutiny as if I'm a criminal. The last time I went there the manager even told me they won't except my corporate Butterball checks anymore. This is the only Trader Joe's or any supermarket for that matter that has given me a issue accepting my forms of payment. The area is well known to have racial discrimination issues and it's sad that Trader Joe's in this neighborhood is just going along with the time instead of being a better example . read more

How does TJs find and train such fantastic employees?!? Consistently impressive. This is about as good as it gets for a grocery store. As with most Trader Joe's their service is stellar, shelves well and properly stocked, return policies that are incredible and overall product selection that is just fantastic. The one downfall to me at least is that their location parking lot is a mess, it's small, crowded spaces and overrun by mini vans. Other than that issue it's really a 5 star location. read more

I've been a TJ's fan since they opened this store years ago. Always helpful staff, great pricing on most items, new products introduced seemingly every week, plus the eclectic treats to sample . Best crimini mushrooms out there along with Irish Butter and Teeny Tiny Avocados always priced way below any competitor. The TJ culture of quality & value is real. Their success has fueled their physical growth and the corresponding demand for more parking space. The laws of physics say you can't fit any more TJ molecules in the current space. it's time to grow and move to a more suitable location. For now, physics be damned. Trader Joe's is worth the trouble, so I'll consider the parking as it is - a minor nuisance - and carry on as a happy customer. read more

I think this is one of the smaller Trader Joe's on the island, That is also why it is so nice to shop here. I only eat organic fresh food, Trader Joe's is always a stop I make when I shop. So what exactly is so great about Trader Joe's? Why does every one in my Weight Watcher meeting shop here, exclusively? Why is this the food store of the 21st Century? I can shed a little bit of light on that... There are SO many healthy food options in this store. For the organic shopper, I am sure this place is orgasmic. This last trip to Trader Joe's, was for one particular item that I did read about in their flyer. Pumpkin Butter. I love anything pumpkin and when I read it tasted like pumpkin pie, without the calories, I NEEDED to try it. Well, this stuff is amazing. I spread it on toast and it was rich, cinnamon-y pumpkin pie, without all the calories. Anyway, back to the basics... This place is small for a food store so the shopping carts can be an annoyance in the aisles, so grab a hand basket. Obviously, I can't rate the entire TJ chain, based on this store but I do look forward to shopping in a less claustrophobic store. For a TJ "pleb" like me, at times, I felt like I didn't belong here. There were many rude people pushing their way through the cramped aisles as if they were special or something. Then, there were many not so rude people. I had a full blown convo with a stranger about the amount of PROTEIN was in a loaf of bread! Gotta love the fellow label readers. I love the fact that the checkout lines are named after the local towns. If you are from Lynbrook, you are obviously gonna hop on the "Lynbrook" line like a proud solider! The cashier I had was super friendly and pulled out a hidden shelf I could place my items on. She said "so your arms don't get tired." NICE! Trader Joe's sells fruit by the piece. I like that because most food stores repermand you for ripping the banana bunch apart. I only want four bananas...why do I need to buy six so they can rot away on my counter? So at Trader Joe's, if you want ONE banana, you can get one, for 19 cents! I picked up some bagged brussels sprouts for the week. I usually go to the local market for my fresh sprouts. Not only were TJ's Brussels cleaned and bagged, but when I went to cut them cup and cook, they were clean as whistles (usually I have to rinse and chuck a lot of them.) They had food demos going on, which any hungry shopper would savor. There is a large customer bathroom which I was surprised to see. Due to the size of the store, I figured I'd see a sign reading "No Customer Restrooms." So in the end, I would never Trade this Joe in.... read more

"Cookie Buttah, my personal traina says it's the only obstacle between me and my summah body. But I simply can't resist. It's heavenly." These are the comments you hear as you push your shopping cart down the aisles. If you're like me, you'll contemplate hari kari once a trip. Luckily, there's never anything sharp enough to impale myself with. TJ's gets 5 stars because they have great products, fair prices, and top notch help. Unlike the mouth breathers at my local Stop N Shop, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And they actually assist in ringing you up (Self checkout infuriates me). Couple negatives : The parking lot when busy is a total clusterfuck. They don't carry many NON - TJ's products, so depending on your needs you might find yourself at another supermarket anyway. Overall, if you can make it out of the parking lot alive, and you can deal with the crazy yenta ladies that shop there, TJ's is a homerun. read more

I love traders. But I must thank (sarcastically) whoever hit me yesterday in Trader Joe's parking lot and then left without a note or without waiting. The people in the lot cannot drive and they really need someone out there directing. I've never seen such poor parking. I almost got hit a second time when I was leaving and someone was pulling into the spot next to me. It's really disappointing to see how terrible people are. Love this Trader Joe's as I love all Trader Joe's. Great products. Friendly staff. BUT my one and only complaint is the pathetic beer selection. They don't carry anything worthwhile. I go to other TJ's and get jealous. At least at one point they carried our neighborhood brewery's beer, Barrier, which I love. That was their one saving grace. But now they don't even have that.
