What I like most about this supermarket is there is a parking lot and a fishing market, though limited. They sell Caribbean and American items, at a cost though. But as we know everything is getting expensive. The cashiers are pretty good with getting you checked out. The problem for me is the cleanliness. Always have good sales on Items you need. Great produce section, the shelves are always stocked well. The deli has a wide selection and different brands of cold cuts also has a pre-made hot food section. The beer section is large and the beer is cold. They have large cans of Seagrams Escapes Spiked, where other stores only have small cans. Nice fresh seafood section. The employees are always helpful. read more

I went to food world today and the crackers had a 4.99 price and a pink sticker to buy one get one free. I picked up 4 boxes to drop off at a nursing home. When I notice my receipt they rang up at $6.29 and of course I stood my ground that the price on the shelf should be granted. They told me if they gave me the right price I could not get the one free. these methods are extremely deceptive when a consumer sees one price and is charged another. i question the number of times I have gone in that supermarket and just paid and not check my receipt. I encourage anyone reading to check your receipts everything! The refused to give me the listed price! shame on them! They have a variety of items especially Caribbean spices that I use to cook, and the prices are affordable. The supermarket is huge and it has a decent size parking lot. I don't know why this supermarket's average review rating is 2.9, but I must say this, I'm giving it four stars instead of five only because I haven't tried any of their meats or fish yet. When visiting the supermarket I found it clean and neat. The vegetables and fruits looked very fresh. The vegetable that I bought was very fresh. And I found all the items that I came looking for. I love the fact that it's very versatile. From Caribbean, to European, to Southern etc. foods, there's a large variety. I recommend this supermarket. read more

This place sells their products for a few more dollars than their competitors. It's like food shopping in a convenience store. I stopped there to get a prepackaged salad that sells everywhere else for $3.99. Here, it was $5.99. I told myself it was just a couple of dollars more and bought it. However, when I opened the bag the salad wasn't crisp or fresh. Conversely, it was starting to go bad. I surmise the salad was turning, because no one would readily buy a $4 salad for $6. I stumbled upon Food World about a year ago thinking it was still Waldbaum's. I was doing my "Earth Day Recycling" and the redemption center at King Kullen down the road was full. I remembered there was another food store close, so I headed down. I was surprised at first and a little turned off that I wasn't going to a big named food store. Would they even have a recycling area? Well, they sure did...AND it was outdoors. Outdoor redemption centers are a treat, especially in April. Bee's and yellow jackets aren't around yet, and there is no stinky, sticky beer-soda sweet mess you are smelling or stepping in. Bleh. There was no one redeeming their cans there so I was able to quickly do my recycling part. Got my tickets and headed into Food World to redeem my $12.35. I was pleasantly surprised! I decided to do a little browsing and the produce section was right there. It was gorgeous and competitively priced. OK, liking this place...I walked up and down each aisle and was very impressed. They had the usual food store items but a lot of exotic things you don't see in your everyday grocery store. The place looked clean and was pretty spacious. They also still carried fresh Irish Soda Bread, a month after St Pat's....(the Irish will appreciate that.) Comes in handy when you have a craving! When I went down the frozen aisle, I noticed they had Key Food branded items. Red flag? Nope, once I reached the register the person before me presented her Key Food Saving card. COOL. They sell Key Food stuff I guess. Although I didn't buy anything, I cashed my redemption tickets in and knew I'd return. Especially for that Irish Soda Bread... read more

I have been coming to this grocery store about a year now. I'm a fan of this grocery store because it has a lot of the Caribbean items we use to cook. The store is pretty big and the parking lot is a decent size. I would not advise you to come here on the weekends. It can get really crazy. The aisles are well stocked with almost every brand you can ever need. They don't sell a lot of organic brands, but they do have a few of the major organic brands. Like almost every grocery store, they have a deli section. In my opinion, they sell the best crab salad I have ever tasted. I would recommend it. They have a lot of cashiers, so check-out is easy (on a good day). Overall, I would recommend this grocery store. The customer service is good. If you need help anyone of the store clerks are willing to help. read more

I like this supermarket because it is conveniently located close to my home. The grocery selection is good and I like the layout of the store. When you first walk into the store, the produce is first and you work your way to the dairy, that way your items that need to stay cold are the last items you pick up. The store is small which is a good and bad things. Good in the sense of not being overwhelming and not so good because when it is crowded it is hard to maneuver between the aisle. It seems as if no one is ever at the fresh fish counter which is a problem because the constant waiting is rather annoying. Overall, I like the location and I will continue to shop here. read more

This is not my favorite supermarket in my neighborhood so far. I have purchased two packs of goat meat from this location. When opening the meat package I was shocked that it was mostly fatty pieces and bone. After, cleaning the excess fat off the meat I was left with 30% of edible meat. They made it seem like you were purchase a high grade of meat. I am very disappointed that this location would sell low quality meat products and trick their customers. read more

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!! THEY SELL ROTTEN MEAT. I bought chicken on a Saturday evening around 5pm and went to cook around 7pm. When I opened the package, the meat smelled so rotten and slimy. I then had to go back to the store to return the meat. When the Asian manager smelled the meat the didn't give me any argument as he smelled it as well and threw it in the garbage can. I was refunded my money. ALSO, THE FRUIT AND VEGETABLES ARE NOT FRESH AT ALL. THEY LOOK OK from the outside, but when you open and the inside it's bad. The vegetables are brown and old. The fruit is mushy. You are better off spending a little bit more money and going to a trusted supermarket to buy quality meats, fruits & vegetables. I also purchased ice cream and once opened it had ice crystals all inside which tells me it was refrozen. I WOULD TELL ANYBODY TO ONLY BUY CAN ITEMS FROM THIS STORE. I actually love this supermarket for its variety but that Old Indian lady who is the head cashier that acts like she owns this business need to learn how to be professional and learn how to manage her mouth! As a supervisor you should always try to be nice to your customers and she always have an attitude like she's doing me a favor, if there is a sale price and the sign is up don't expect me to pay regular price for an item thats false advertisement and also illegal. Food world use many hidden tricks, for example: I brought collard greens, when you remove rubber band inside bunch, all pale white.
