1/24/26 Snowstorm Shopping With a snowstorm coming in, I went grocery shopping to stock up on everything needed to make hearty, comforting meals. I picked up ingredients for chicken soup, beef soup, and pasta -- the kind of food that keeps you warm for days. I spent about $150, which honestly still feels expensive, but considering today's food prices and the fact that this will turn into multiple home-cooked meals (and leftovers), it was worth it. Being prepared during a storm beats scrambling for overpriced takeout any day. Food is definitely expensive right now, but cooking at home is still the smartest way to stretch your money and eat well. They pack bags with out asking, great service, nice and clean and bright. I will never get a delivery from stop & shop again! $10 delivery fee $5 tip! My delivery was supposed to be between 5-6. It's 7pm and it hasn't even been picked up yet! I haven't been in this location in a couple of years. Nice how they upgraded the store, but not a lot has changed. Went to the deli to get cold cuts. Only one worker took orders and cut the meats and cheese. The line is getting long. The women behind the counter ask for help. The other guy comes over, takes 2 orders, and then walks off. There were still customers waiting . Went to the bakery to order a cake and had to pay upfront to bring the receipt back to pick up the cake 2 days later. They were very nice and helpful. Once I go to the register, the lines are long cashier's don't care and act like they don't want to be bothered. I grew up with Pathmark so Stop & Shop was the next best thing. They don't always carry what's needed but this place beats a blank. They lack in discounts and the lines are always oh so long. I'm complaining and yet I shall still shop here when I can't get it somewhere else until then. Oh a+ on cleanliness no weird smells not even in the seafood area. read more

Beware!!! This location has mice/rats. Clearly they do not store food 6 inches off the ground. Yesterday I purchased a 42 count variety box of chips and upon opening the box I discovered several bags of chips with bite marks and holes. James and Charles of stop and shop must be very comfortable with the infestation because they didnt offer much assistance nor really cared about my discovery. I truly question the practices of this stop and shop location. What other foods have these rodent come in contact with. Huge parking lot to accommodate everyone. The aisles are clean and wide. There are tons of items I've never seen at my local stop and shop that I found here. There was a whole pillsbury cookie dough fridge. Even the Oreos they had on sale, there were tons and tons of it out. Good sales on the steak that showed you needed a cut out from the circular. Very honest. The only thing I noticed was messy was the bacon section. There was one item on sale, but everything was piled there, so it was time consuming to find the actual item. There was a giant robot that wheeled around to help people find their products. They don't give bag credit for bringing your own bag. But I still love the store! read more

I will start this off by saying... I don't like to give bad reviews. However What happened this Sunday must be addressed. An employee at the self checkout was: FLOSSING HER TEETH. She had her mask pulled down and was actively flossing her teeth while talking to a colleague. I immediately felt disgusted and looked towards the service counter for the manager- and then spotted her headed that direction. She walked right over to two supervisors and requested gloves ALL WHILE STILL FLOSSING HER TEETH in PUBLIC- How, Why, I don't want to know. My family grabbed some burger buns and I high tailed it out of there with the intent of participating in the survey on the receipt and low and behold blew away in the wind. I love Stop and Shop and I hope they fix this. I will not be back for some time. read more

They discriminate against people who are using Medicare services to pay for their supplies and have extremely bad (rude) customer service. My mother has been forced to retire due to disability and use Medicare services provided by Humana to get what supplies she needs at her local stories, Stop & Shop was one of them until recently. They have done something to their scanning machines at the beginning of February, it no longer reads the card for supplies, but only accepts OTC. On the Humana website it states the following: "For essentials like groceries, OTC products, home and personal supplies, use your card at participating retailers." https://tinyurl.com/26mxykep If Stop & Shop is no longer participating in the program, then they should state this on a sign in the store and let Humana know to remove them off their website as a participating retailer. My mother would respect and honor that instead of being made to stand and be gawked at by passerbyers while a rude employee yells and demeans her intellect about the capability of the card she has been given by Humana. She even brought a letter from Humana citing what the card can be used for, and they refused to hear her out or even acknowledge the letter. They said the machine doesn't work for it and that was that. I would like the actual store manager to get in contact with me please, instead of sending a bunch of irritable 20-something year olds to shout at my 64 year old mother. Thankyou read more

Formerly known as Pathmark, Stop & Shop provides affordable items for the community. Since the name change not much has changed about this supermarket. They're open Mon - Sun from 6am - 12am. Their pharmacy is open Mon - Fri from 9am-9pm; Sat & Sun from 9am - 5pm. Although I must say that their home, pet, and miscellaneous aisles are in disarray. Things seem misplaced and out of order. Why is the ketchup and mayonnaise near the pet aisle? It doesn't flow. Nothing drives me mad like aisles that do not flow. Lines are atrocious and cashiers move at a even slower place. They have self-checkout, but even with those machines there's always a screw up. Besides there's a pro to going to a cashier. You're able to get some items discounted as oppose to going to self-checkout. I found myself spending a lot of time looking at the fresh produce. It's bright, neatly stocked and aesthetically pleasing. It's the first thing that drew me in. Just a heads up the parking lot is always packed. You may have to circle around a few times. read more

I still come here a few times month since they have a better selection than the other regular supermarkets in the area. My main issue with this place is their pricing. I'm always price checking tons of items in my cart because I really can't tell if the item is on sale or not. It doesn't matter what day of the week it is, they just don't update all the items in the store. I get over charged every now and then, I always check my receipt before I leave though I don't always have the time to wait in line so it is what it is. Other than that it's a decent place to get groceries. Fruits and veggies are a lil more expensive than other places and it's not always the freshest. Sometimes they lure me into the supermarket with steaks on sale but literally there's not one package available. Then all I see are steaks that are thinly cut and overpriced. read more

There's a parking lot but during peak hours it gets crowded. Normally this supermarket is crowded & not enough cashiers. The self checkout line at times is even forming down the aisles because of the problems with the self checkout registers. They have late hours (closing at midnight) which is convenient, but normally the store is a mess. It's good they have a large variety & weekly sales, however I don't get my produce from here because it's overpriced. If your needing produce & it's an item or two fine, but if you're needing more than that, you get more for your money going to a fruit stand. read more

This place is ok. I shop here a lot. It's very convenient. They have they own parking lot. Which is good. I always find parking close to the door. That helps a lot when I have to carry a lot of bags. Even though I can use they cart I never do because I don't want to be responsible for putting it back. Lol. One thing I do not like about this supermarket, whenever you buy food from here you have to cook it the same week because all they meat expire the week you buy it. Smh. Went to get a few items and there were no shopping carts or baskets available. So they did not assign someone to get all the shopping carts and baskets and bring them to the front of the store. This was on 3/12/22 at 2:30 pm. They need to be more professional because that is very bad. read more

I have to say that im a little disappointed with Stop and Shop. This is an improvement over pathmark, however that isnt saying much. When they came in, they gave the supermarket a slight facelift and added a few things such as a Natures Promise aisle which was definitely welcome. My problems / low score are due to the fact that 1) the bathroom is still atrocious. I walked in there and walked right back out because there was no way i could use anything in there. The bathroom was dilapidated and in dire need of a remodel. 2) there was a mouse running across the floor. It was just running around as if it was just another customer shopping for food. We informed the manager that was on duty that night, but 10mn later she went back to talking to her friends. This happened a few weeks ago and i havent been back since I've switched supermarkets (King Kullen) for the time being. This Stop and Shop was formerly and recently known as Pathmark. I love the convenience of the store and it's always packed. The best thing about it is that it's open 24 hours. It's clean and organized and everything is easy to locate. Unlike some, I actually like the prices and I find that I enjoy their prices rather than KeyFood. There's a big parking lot but be careful because I've seen many accidents over the years. A few things I dislike are the staff. People have been complaining about it for years and I noticed the same Pathmark employees are there but some are new. The seafood department staff is the WORSEEEEE. Unfortunately I don't feel as though management cares that they have employees who are rude and sometimes while checking out, I hear my cashiers complaining about management while taking their anger out on me and handling my groceries aggressively. So unprofessional that it's starting to remind me of the ghetto Green acres Walmart. Also most things aren't labeled with a price as the previous reviewer stated. The lines are long but honestly what's great about this place is that they always have a lot of registers open unlike some stores. I also like the fact that their fresh fruit and vegetable sections are immaculate. It's very bright and draws attention to the eye. As I stated before, if you shop at this location, the only thing that may turn you off is the staff. Otherwise it's good. read more

This is my first time shopping at this grocery store and though I will say the store is neat and seems to be fully stocked the employees need extra training when it comes to customer service. The cashier I had was on a personal phone call the whole time she was checking me out. It was very rude and very disrespectful. I had to check my receipt to make sure she rung me up correctly. I am appalled not only that she was on a call but also had the person on speaker phone and then had the audacity to tell the person to hold on and hide her phone when her boss was coming by. Truly disappointed in my most recent visit here. Not only were non of the sale items on sale (on my receipt) but the cashier gave me a bag with a hole in it and I dropped and broke the bottle of Rose sangria I just bought. Glass on my hands while I'm pushing a stroller That was fun ( --insert sarcasm here-- Did I go back inside and complain about the few dollars that I got overcharged? Nope. I was too busy trying to clean glass chards off my hands and making sure my kid didn't get anything on her. My hubby warned me to stay away from this location ... next time I'll listen The lines are always long and there never seems to be enough employees to either ask a question to or at checkout. I would've given just ONE star but the reason for 2 was the employee at checkout. She was pleasant and apologized for the long wait. I dont know about anyone else, but I have a blast when I come here. They have a deli which features heat and eat meals, a selection of salads. and many varieties of cheeses. They have awesome fried chicken and also rotisserie chicken. They have a bakery dept and a seafood dept and a nice selection of frozen foods. They have a great selection of Stop and Shop brand name items for discount prices. They also have a Western Union where you can purchase Money Orders or send money. They sell books and greeting cards and there is a pharmacy and you can purchase over the counter drugs.There is a Coinstar where you can get dollars for your change but they take out 12.5%. Whenever I have come here during the day they had cab drivers out front so I didnt have to call a car service. read more

They speak to their customer like they are nothing. They are so slow to help you out. You can never find anyone in their deli department. The individuals that work in the department where they make food are so disrespectful. Try to ask them a question and they where so disrespectful. Every time I give this stop and shop a chance they know how to keep me away!!! The hours on the door says it closes at 12am. however, I knew it closed at 11pm. So, I rush to the door at 10:55pm and it's already locked. There's a lot of people still in the store from what I viewed the the through the window. I remained at the door until someone came out so I can go in to get ONE thing. The security/cashier said "it's 11pm, we're closed". After I told him I was at the door before 11pm he said the store closes 5 minutes earlier than 11pm. Then he said you would have to speak to my boss, who just so happen to walk past. He said the same thing. The BOTH of them were RUDE! DISMISSIVE! and lack respect. The tone was unacceptable, the lack of eye contact while informing me of the "new" time was ridiculous. The Springfield gardens stop and shop is less than 5 minutes from my house. With the rising gas prices I still will NOT give them a dime or my time. I shopped at this location on sunday october 30 2016 and brought some crab legs. When i got home and cooked them i bit into them and tastes like straight bleach. Whatever they was cleaning with gotten into the food. My theoat and stomach now hurts. On my way to emergency to make sure. This is nasty and unsanitary tbat they clean with food still out. I come here a few times a month since it's so close to home. They do have a good selection of items, some good deals/specials, a bakery section, fresh seafood, flowers, fresh produce...but the lines are insane and that's why I avoid going. There will be times during prime time shopping hours that 4 cash registers are open and so many customers that check out takes over half an hour, even self check out the lines can be also the width of the store. Coming in for a few items is just not worth it if I spend more time in line than shopping for the actual items read more

Today after waiting in line for 15 minutes at the hot food counter I tried to place an order for 50 pieces of fried chicken, I was informed by the sales associate that he could not fill my order because he had "too many other people waiting for chicken and next time I should order ahead of time because that's a catering order ". There is no signage that indicates what amount of chicken qualifies as a catering order. I spoke to the manager Tabita who while failing to make eye contact with me and rolling her eyes said all she could do was tell h I'll m to make the chicken now after I had waited an additional 10 minutes to talk to her. Both of these employees were very rude in their demeanor and really gave the impression that they could care less about customer service. This is not the first time I have experienced this type of behavior in this store,but I guarantee it will be the last Stop&Shop has lost a loyal card carrying customer. I will also be telling all of my neighbors and the Federated blocks of Laurelton and my city council person Donavan Richards that we should organize a boycott of all Stop& Shops in southern Queens until they exercise some corporate responsibility and treat their customers with respect and a customer first approach to service. read more

This store is a disappointment for a neighborhood store; you would think that since it replaced PathMark ii would be better. It's not. My daughter recently bought milk for her 1 yr old son on August 5th and it was stamped "Sell by August 16th". On August 9th it was spoiled. The store smells when you first walk in, the lines are ridiculous and the workers are rude and on their cell phones. I usually go to another store but wasn't feeling well so I decided to try this store, wasn't impressed. There were only 4 cashiers: 1 on the bag your own, 1 on a regular line, 1 on the express line and a manager that had to open another line herself because there were no other workers. This Stop and Shop is OK and is a definite improvement on the previous Pathmark store in appearance and pricing. I also appreciate the customized coupons that they send in the mail for frequent shoppers. The issue that knocks off stars for this store and gets really annoying is the lack of cashiers when the store gets busy. It gets really old when you have 10 or less items and you have to wait on a long line to check out. It makes no sense to have only 2-3 registers open on a Friday or Saturday evening knowing that it's usually rush time for the store. When you go to the more suburban stores out of NYC (ie. Nassau County), as soon as the management sees more than 3 people on a line, they open up more registers. It really makes you want to shop elsewhere especially when you want to get in and out. If the management could fix this issue, it would make a significant difference in customer satisfaction at this store. read more
