I had an appalling experience at the Key Food on Central Ave. During my visit, their payment system deducted money directly from my account, yet the transaction failed on their end. Instead of resolving the issue, the management team specifically Maria, Claudia, and Donna refused to hand over the groceries or assist with returning my funds. Beyond the monetary issue, the way I was spoken to and treated by this management team was vile, hostile, and filled with microaggressions. I felt completely targeted and discriminated against as a customer. I have never experienced such disgusting customer service. Save your money and do not shop at this location. read more

Nice store upgrade. I like the bakery , hot food, and deli section. The produce is fresh. This is the only supermarket that I can find lamb chops that does not have a lot of fat on them at a decent price. I will start shopping here more often. read more

Customer service is lacking. Many people shop here due to proximity and convenience. However, I find that many items have a short shelf life when you get them home. Also, if you have an issue with your product they never want to issue you a return. I have experienced this with milk and ice cream. read more

I go here often and love shopping here because of their variety of groceries. But today, 5/2, at around 5 pm, I witnessed a manager yelling at a male cashier. She was so loud that I can hear her from the fist department. She continued to berate the employee in front of all the customers. I left with such a horrible impression. This gray haired woman manager should be reprimanded for the way she treated her employee. It was demeaning to the man who was the cashier especially to do it in front of everyone. Please teach these managers to do better. That was awful. She should be sent to managerial and anger management classes. read more

Yesterday, 7/1, I worked all day and 6 left the house to go to BJs, gas up, to the wine store and to Trader Joe's. However, driving home, I realized that I failed to pick up oranges and bananas, so decided to make a quick stop to Keyfood since its around the corner from where I've lived for 26 years...so been coming here for that long for quick stops. Never had any complaint..until about 5 years or so ago, an elderly woman started working on the self service registers. RUDE and so condescending! Apparently, I'm not the only one who has issues with her...see the attached screenshot. Mind you, I've been to 3 stores prior to this one without incident...all good and happy experiences. She had to talk down to me like a child about a mistake I made in a code entry which generated a wrong price for the product. Anyway...I'm never going back there again. read more

The new and improved Key Food! I say new and improved because I was always skeptical about about shopping here but my grandmother insisted. She expressed that they are under new management. As you enter the store they have a your convenience water and select sale items. In the windows for large display sale items of the week. Good way to lure customers in. They sell fresh ground coffee by pound for all you coffee lovers out there. The store manager Alex was very friendly. He was able to tell me where produce and store items were located when other employees were unable to. What I like the most about this store is the variety of Caribbean products that are sold here. I was able to purchase curry and aloe vera water. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the store. read more

I really like this supermarket. When I was a kid I would run up and down this place like there was no tomorrow. It's clean, well organized and caters to many different ethnicities. They have all of my Caribbean food needs and I love them for that. They recently redid the deli and now there's a mini coffee shop and the deli now sells like real food to purchase and eat. All in all, very clean, well organized, amazing staff and will forever be a staple supermarket for me when I come home. read more

One of the best Keyfood I've ever seen. This newly renovated and new management cares! I've lived in this community for 20 years, worked there when I was 16 when it was under Mandel stores. This place is conveniently located near me so I've been here since I was a kid and frequent here often. This place was relatively recently renovated so yay, it looks nice and clean and they have expanded their deli / fresh foods / coffee dept, which looks really nice. However, I will NOT be returning because they have CONSISTENTLY been FALSELY ADVERTISING THEIR PRICES on sale items. Brought to my attention by my friend who also shops here. And it's not just on one item on my receipt, its on 2/3 of the items I purchase here. Sorry, I refuse to be cheated that way. It's not right. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

As i read these reviews, most are out dated. I have been going there for a few years and not because of service but rather convenience. Most of the fruit is no good and its usually the same ones like blueberries and strawberries. Numerous occasions when the fruit arrives home and thoroughly checked its molded. I once bought pre packaged fruit which had glass in it, i have kids so imagine. As recently as yesterday i had to return poultry that was relabeled with a key food sticker dated 2/8/19. When i opened it to prepare the turkey chops smelled horrendous!!!. I removed the sticker which revealed the true expiration date of 1/31/19. I immediately got in my car to return it and it made the car smell inside. If i return it will not be for poultry or fruit. read more

Nice supermarket where you can purchase quality and reasonably priced fruits and vegetables. The fresh fish section in the rear has reasonably priced fish and is clean. There is a little coffee shop as soon as you enter where you can buy a cup of coffee or purchase fresh coffee beans. In general the staff is friendly. One serious problem. When you check out watch the cash register closely and check your receipt. Several times my sale items were rung up at regular prices! This is not an occasional occurrence. I used to go to this key food all the time but stop doing so years ago. They did remodeling in the last couple of years but It wasn't until recently when I made a stop in for something quick. I was reminded why I stop going to this place, put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig. Saw something on the shelf with 10 different signs on it saying it's on sale but during checkout, I was charged a higher price. Sign said with club card, no min puchase required, checked out and looked at receipt when I got home and noticed that I was charged the higher price. This happens all the time and I mean all the time with this place, prices are never what they seem, one of the reason I stop going here. This along with packing all the brown old ground beef inside of fresh ground beef or the quarter pound of water inside the chicken breast packaging, I understand some water/juice is normal but whenever chicken breast is on sale, the packaging contains an extra dose of water. It sucks, the fact that this place is near by, convient and i pass by all the time after getting of the parkway but, I would go out of my way to get something I need just to avoid this place. King Kullen, Stop and Shop, Food World are much better option if you live in the area. read more

First let's take this back, I lived around here for years. And I've realize the change in the store because of the replacement of the employees. Before they seems more nicer. Today they don't say anything to you. You can tell the difference who's the sales reps and the managers. Today for example one the guys who had the keys to do an override. Was right in the way sitting on a cart (not professional) on top that is was in the way you need to pass to leave the store. One I said politely "sorry excuse ". No eye contact, barely budged his cart is was sitting on I had to say "okay"? In other words that was rude. I feel if your going to sit and do a job. Number one the customer is a first priority to be polite. This store gets a 2 because you have food and your not too far. However I can take my business else where along with the other neighbors who are not fond of your store either. At times the cashiers don't seem happy to be there however the one I had today was nice. Your the owner or representer sad store managers be more polite. read more

I come here because I like the fact they stay open later and the prices are right up my alley. Recently I noticed they have made upgrades. They have done away with the self check out and in place have a customer service desk that also has a western union. I notice the coffee shop but haven't paid it a visit. Maybe when I'm passing by I'll have a try. I do love me a good iced vanilla coffee. read more

I lived here for 16 yrs and now when you enter the store right in your face is avocados,onions, mangos.Its more cluttered in front entrance.outside is bunch of things like watermelon.apple juice.No more self service.Staff is allright,one thing i like is they have cactus .And just that first aisle is too much clutter. This is my favorite supermarket in my town. Especially since they went under new management. They have an amazing coffee shop where the flowers use to be and have freshly made peanut butter. YUM :P overall this is my go to supermarket. I come here almost every week. Meat is ways fresh, nothing is ever out of stock, and the people there are very helpful and nice. read more

This store is ok, for a neighborhood supermarket. My two negatives are when they run sales, you don't always get the sale price. It so time consuming to have someone have to check the price, delete, and re-scan the items. Also, the staff should be trained for customer service. When They are talking to each other, you become invisible to them! They are never pro-active to assist a shopper. It could be because most of the staff don't speak English well and would much prefer to finish their task at hand, than to assist you in any way. However, their fish market is good. The fish is fresh and customer service is much better in that area! read more

Dont shop here or work here at all, worst job ever. These people treat you like a dog. They are not considerate at all and take advantage of you. They are not organized and do not know how to run a business. They are unprofessional and only care about making profit. Your needs are not listened to so dont even bother expressing how you feel. The manager takes his anger out on you hours so you're basically forced to kiss his ass...but im not an ass kisser. These people dont give a flying fuck about you so i advise you to not work here.
