Get your health on in this establishment! Ordered the Detoxx energy monster and some raw sea moss. I was not disappointed.

Lady "that's okay" The above exchange took place after the lovely gentleman working here was advising me on the herbs and various products they carry. He also saw me taking pictures and there was no opposition from him. I even took pics of products at the cash register in plain view of other members of staff. Maybe the lady didn't appreciate free advertising and the glowing exchange I was gonna give Detoxx Bar because prior to this, I was truly having a wonderful educational experience as I totally dig natural foods, medicine, soaps, oils, teas etc. I gently put my choice at the counter and left the store. I get it, it's her store to run as she sees fit, I just thought they were open to customers and admiration via picture taking and sharing AND cash. The bad taste in my mouth permitted me from digging into my wallet. Besides, she may have seized my phone camera. So let me GetOut! I wonder how others were able to take pictures as I saw some here on yelp. Maybe it's the watch I was wearing, telling too much darn time. We were looking for a place to get healthy breakfast, that's open at 7:30am. This place was perfectly on our way, so we gave it a try. It looks little hipster, you can buy there stuff in bulk (nuts, lentils etc.), cosmetics, vegan frozen pizza and much more! We others two "drinks": Detoxx energy monster - Supa Dupa energy (medium $9.50), we got also extra kale for $0.50. - it was delicious, Interesting aftertaste by the flax seeds or beets maybe, but really good and filling enough. Tropical paradise smoothie - antioxidant power (medium $5.5) - my friend who is not into smoothies really, loved this one, it was very refreshing and sweet. Great introduction to those who are starting with smoothies. There are also "hardcore" Detoxx drinks (the first category in the menu) which as I head from other customer are not that delicious (she made funny faces when drinking it), but they are very effective and she tries to have them every week. So I am looking forward to try these next time. She let us to try little sample in case we wanted the smoothie sweeter which I really liked and it is not normal in other juice bars. The place has very friendly vibe. Customers talk to other customers, it seems to me like a place where locals come regularly and know each other (one customer just showed up in a door and "the same as always please". Unfortunately they are using regular plastic cups and straws, which can be replaced by the compostable ones. One of the best black-owned community health food stores in the city of New York resides in Southeast Queens. The Detoxx Bar is the lifeblood of health consciousness in Cambria Heights and I go there regularly for the Flu Buster Tea (and ask that it be made extra strong and extra bitter). They make this tea with herbs and some other things, that I have no idea of, but it is undoubtedly a throat-clearing tea. It is an intense tea that has helped prevent me from getting a cold during the flu season. It takes about 30 minutes to make, so be sure you call beforehand or have time to wait. I also like to get the sea moss porridge. They make it at all hours and not just breakfast. Just be patient and be prepared to wait, but I tell you, you won't be disappointed. read more

Drink turned out ok. I ordered a special smoothie. The woman who was standing at the counter who apparently was in charge was very nasty. She spoke to me as I was dumb and like I ordered something wrong. I ordered with one of the two men who were making drinks. She was unaware of my order. I questioned what was put in the smoothie, she answered and she got a bad attitude with me & Told me not to pay. I said no I'm not asking for a free drink. She said no we don't want your money. We are fine. I left payment on the counter and she walked behind me as I left the store then put the money on the ground in front of the store like I was some peasant. She was a woman of color treating her own people like that. I have been going there for years after I leave the gym to get my smoothies. Idk who she is but they need to get rid of her, she's not good with people. She also seemed very condescending towards the other workers by speaking over them when I asked what they put in the drink. And just to add, she was giving bad advice to a diabetic woman that was also standing at the counter with me. I have been going to this place for years and always my go to for their detox smoothies which definitely works, whether it's for a cannabis detox or body colon detox their stuff works. Not only is this place limited to food and drink but also your natural products like castor oil or witch hazel deodorant, or even organic toothbrushes it's your place to go to. Seeing him that first night really painted a pleasant portrait not consistent with the ownership. The owner has no customer service skills and treats paying customers like they're doing her a favor. She even insults customers, which paints her as far more green than any drink she makes. So if you'd like to give your money to someone who insults you, this is your place! I learn my lesson to never review a place after the first visit. My first visit was smooth and she even recommended to put a shot of wheatgrass in my mango smoothie which was awesome. That was last summer. Back to this year I been going every Tuesday and Thursday after the gym...big mistake. She's always talking to someone and don't even acknowledge you until after standing there like an idiot. Sometimes she have guys help her make the juice but one of them have no clue on how the drinks are made, I let that pass cause he might be new. The owner becomes fresh with me after I point out the drink don't have spinach and after i said why the wheatgrass is not mix with the mango. I still give her another chance and come back again with my friends but she got the nerve to say that I'm not even going to ask you guys questions just writing it down. I just stay quiet and my friend order the drink cause I think she didn't worth my energy. This place is a good 30-45 minutes wait for a smoothie. Fresh owner that don't value new customers. Very knowledgeable staff- amazing authentic drinks with real fruits vegetables and herbs. They do not use a lot of powder, sugary syrup, etc. Prelare to stay for a while- they give each customer individual service. They always give samples and usually will give you whatever is left in the blender without charging you (meaning, if there's four ounces of juice/shake left in the blender after making you a 16 oz, they'll let you drink 4 oz and then top you off while only charging you for the 16 oz). The owner of this establishment is EXTREMELY RUDE. I came in tonight and asked for a detox drink and I was given just that. I then taste the drink and it was entirely too strong for me and I told her I would still pay for it because I do understand they made the drink and I drank it and it is a business. The owner, also known as the "health doctor" looked at me and said "Don't ever come back here again, do you know how much herbs I used to make this drink? ", then forced me to drink it continuously and yelled at me in front of a crowd of people.
