My go to deli pit stop before trekking to Long Beach. This deli serves everything from breakfast, heroes and build your own salad. The prices are extremely reasonable, $3.50 for an egg sandwich! I know a business is reliable when it is always crowded but the line moves pretty quickly. The establishment is clean, organized and great customer service! Satisfactory. Came here with wifey on a Friday morning, whilst preparing for our day at the beach. Our ham sandwiches were stacked, quite delicious as well. Although I didn't have the chance to give any of their signature sandwiches a shot, I could clearly see that Brand's has a robust menu. Decent snack and drink selection, and the space/small dining area looked to be clean. Service here could be slightly better. Me, and it seemed like everyone else waiting near the front counter didn't really know where to place an order, or where to wait for food. Whenever I go to Long Beach this is the go to spot for sandwiches. The service is excellent. The grill chicken is fresh, not dry. The deli meats are fresh. This deli moves the meats. The sandwich combos are all delicious and packed with meat and veggies. The heroes are $14 and on a roll $11. The hero can feed three people. I ordered the "Mr Hockey". The sandwich is filled with Italian meats, cappy, pepperoni, Genoa salami, provolone and red onion lettuce, tomato and oil and vinegar. I won't eat a sandwich on stale bread or covered with mass produced tasteless salads. Their roast beef is always rare & nicely seasoned to perfection ; they were made by the owner's mother! I stopped on July 5th 2024 to pick up three sandwiches to go to the beach. I got the LEETCHIE (Fried Eggplant, Fresh Mozzarella, Prosciutto, Roasted Peppers & Balsamic Vinaigrette). When I opened it up, about 15 minutes later, I found a soggy mess of too many, very thin, slices of eggplant that were deep fried in breadcrumbs and oil, several wedges of peppers, and a strip of non-fresh prosciutto. The bread was wet with the deep-fryer oil, which made it chewy; the eggplant was mostly breadcrumbs and oil, the peppers were meh, and the prosciutto was dry and old-looking, my guess is that they freeze the prosciutto and just defrost enough each afternoon. I ate just a few bites and had to throw away the rest; I tried to fish out the better parts, but didn't really find any. My kids ordered different sandwiches and also didn't enjoy them but I don't have a description of their grievances. I think this place is used to serving tourists who don't know better and are already far at the beach when they come to see that their sandwiches suck. However, they were open on july 5th and they had a fridge with slightly cold drinks, so I guess that earns them two stars. read more

Very good sandwiches. My wife previously brought home the ham, cheese, egg breakfast roll and it was good. We went back today. I got the sausage/egg/cheese on a roll and it was equally tasty. She got the "chicago blackhawks" hero and the meat and ingredients were very fresh. It was tasty and the bread is fluffy with a nice outer crust. Service was good, there were 2-3 folks in front of us and our food took perhaps 5-10min. Interior was newly renovated and very clean (much cleaner than all the other delis). They have indoor seatings and 4 outdoor tables w high chairs. Most importantly, the boss (I assume he was) was super friendly. The staff were all also friendly, cheerful, and efficient. I wasn't aware they sold bagels but saw that they had a small selection. It was good as well. We'll probably make this our go to place for sandwiches and deli. Everything is hockey themed which was kinda cool. Oh they also deliver to the beaches! Awesome! read more

"It always , well what you want me to do"? when your delivery order is wrong after repeating it enough times to make sure they get it right . This is the saddest review I've ever had to make. The reason is that when Joe Brand owned this store, it was the best deli I have ever had! We went to it for years and then he sold it when it was on Lindell and Magnolia. The people that bought it were horrible. Upon walking in, instead of it smelling like fresh cold cuts it smelled like floor detergent. We tried the food, in plain English, it sucked. We never went back. It soon closed. After a few years we saw 'Brands' opened up on the block of Gino's! So happy! Not so fast. Whoever owns this store now is NOT Joe Brand. My husband went in and got two hero's which was $35.00. One bite in and I put it down. It was 'King Henry' and I got a taste of garlic that overwhelmed my taste buds. The pastrami was like rubber and the bread was mushy. The other was a 'Super Mario Brother'. We have gotten them both for many years. The person that made it placed all of the peppers and lettuce in the back and the bread so mushy it was falling apart and the peppers fell out. There was a strong mustard that burned my tongue. We stopped eating it too. So $35 down the drain and the very last time we visit here. IT is NOT Brands from days of old with Joe Brand. It is a shell of it's former self. The sandwich makers do not know what they are doing and the store is not what it used to be. read more

This deli is great! It has all the workings of a typical LI deli, but is larger and cleaner than most. The specials are written in chalk on the wall but feel free to snag a menu to see what other pre-made specials are around. Obviously, they'll make you whatever your heart desires if you're a custom sammie kind of guy. My order of turkey with L T and honey mustard was perfect. Lots of meat, not stuffed with weird, pale tomato slices, and some really good honey mustard. Snagged a chicken soup which was solid too. Very disappointed. We had a family reunion at the VFW hall in Long Beach and had Brand's cater the get together. I had been in contact with the manager at least a half dozen times to review the order and with another individual (don't want to mention names) prior to the event. After several phone calls when I arrived in LB, was told to call back because they were busy and attempted to, but again..too busy to talk. Assuming that all was ok because of my previous talks with them and having gone over the order multiple times....but they left part of the order off the delivery! Was told it would be 30 minutes to get the rest of the order, took about 1 1/4 hours. There was no catering, just delivered the food. Kudos to VFW for setting up the food and making sure everything was laid out for us! I am posting a review mainly because of the response from Brand's, she said it was a "miscommunication" and did not take any responsibility for it. Yes, I did pay and tip 20%, don't want to stiff the staff for management's mistake. Good food but would not recommend for catering. read more

First, the good: great fresh, quality ingredients! huge sandwiches with no shortage of meat. Nice workers and quick and fast service. Clean Cons: the construction of these sandwiches are awful. They make them like a "taco" where the bread is not cut all the way through so all the sauce is at the bottom and all the meat in in the middle making it dry as well. Doesn't stay together either because of the way it's made. I ordered a salad from Brands for delivery and the order was incorrect. I called and asked them to send the missing ingredients. The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and did not believe me that my salad was missing ingredients. First she told me that they did not charge me for the chicken or avocado that was missing. I explained I have the Order form used and see the items all listed, and the receipt reflects the price of all ingredients I requested. She argued with me for over 5 minutes. Then, she wanted to send the delivery person to my house to pick up and inspect the incorrect salad before sending me a replacement. I was shocked that I had to spend so much time arguing with her to correct their mistake. The customer service was horrible. I am hopeful that they correct their mistake. read more

So new it smells like fresh paint! It's bright and airy, and they have a decent selection of specialty sandwiches. They're also pretty cheap, and the people working here are quiet friendly. It's in a great location, right across from the train station so you don't need to waste your money at Starbucks or that little deli inside the train. I hate when delis make a breakfast wrap, and they don't wrap them tight, so the eggs smush out the bottom....they don't do that here. By far one of the best deli's as far as portion size and taste on Long Island. Al the sandwiches are named after hockey terms or players. Long Beach is an expensive area. Band's Deli while not cheap, is a great value given the location. Located only a few blocks from the beach and in the heart of shops and other restaurants. The first thing you will notice is the extensive and creative menu. This goes well beyond a standard deli. As and example I was torn between the The Hammer - hot roast beef on garlic bread, melted mozzarella & gravy or The Messiah - hot roast pork on garlic bread, melted mozzarella, gravy & duck sauce. I chose the Messiah at $9.25. It was a great choice. Not something to be eaten while on the move I found a spot next to the window and took a bite. First it was hot, second it was delicious. The gravy and duck sauce were perfect with the pork. The bread likewise. Messy and over stuffed this was a damn good sub. BTW - The gravy would be great over some fries. You will not leave hungry. Service was super friendly, the place was very clean. Two things to keep in mind, there is no restroom for customers and $15 minimum charge on credit cards. Due to this I would give 3.5 stars, so I have to round up to 4. My advice hit the restroom before you come and bring cash if you're alone. Enjoy Brand's Deli, it's worth it. read more

Came here after the beach. We got here like 15 minutes before they closed and they were packing everything up but were down to serve us which was cool. My friend and I shared a hero sammy and it was bomb. We had corned beef, Swiss, sauerkraut, and mustard. They heated it up it was delicious. Best deli in town. This place is great, also perfect location across from the train station. Non locals - hit this place before heading to the beach! I'm really glad this deli exists in the area. It's new. It's clean. It's got an awesome beach feel, and the people behind the counter were friendly. It's so the antithesis of nearly every deli in Long beach that I really hope this place takes off and doesn't conform to the norm that besmirches LB quick-service eateries. There are a ton of specialty sandwiches to choose from, it would be hard to know what to get. So far I've only been their for breakfast, but their bacon, egg and cheese was delicious, and so is their BLT.
