Although the car was ready within a reasonable amount of time , but my car door was covered with black grease and it has been running for at least 20 mins . If you live in Indio, just take a nice drive to Cathedral City. The shuttle service is great! A lot of techs and advisors moved from Unicars to Honda of the Desert as well. They also have a new patio. Anyways, I've had multiple services ranging from a small amount of $80 - $800 + over the course of 2021-oil changes, brakes, battery, courtesy inspections, etc and I'm sad to say it's not what it used to be here. Things fell off the beginning of 2023. My sister dropped her car off once and when we went down to Unicars (after not receiving any call about that car being ready which was promised from a service advisor that no longer works here), one of the other advisors had the audacity to ask "are you sure you dropped it off?" LOL, my dude...you'd think we remember we dropped off a full car. Like be serious. This miscommunication had turned into a bigger issue when I went for a diagnostic earlier this month. Ben took me as a walk in on Monday, which I appreciated of course. I wouldn't have been upset if there was false promises of when the vehicle would be ready. I commute to Riverside and had to scramble to find a ride because my vehicle was promised to have the diagnostic completed by the following day. No call. So I kept calling. Then the phone line is down Wednesday. I'll attach what I wrote on the "Contact Us" because that's what gets a fast response. I got my call back Tuesday at 3:30pm saying vehicle would be ready tomorrow. Then the phone line was down Wednesday which I found out after going in person. I was helped by Marc who is lovely. Def recommend him! He was trained by Jeremy who was the best and most helpful guy there (unfortunately no longer with Unicars). I wanted to log this to my file since I was not satisfied with this service (it's underneath where you sign off and must be logged within 10 days) and mentioned that on the phone to Ben when we last spoke Thursday 3/8 calling if I had any questions. I tried getting Carl's direct email, but Ben said just to fill out the Contact Us form again. I guess, but it seemed defensive. It was a little too late for questions to be answered as well. I told him thank you for the call back and just keep it short. I was done and over everything. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but just unfortunate miscommunication and being short staffed in Indio I guess. I do appreciate Marc's help again with this. His training with Jeremy paid off. Just leaving this feedback to help Honda maintain quality service we would like for it to have on this end of the valley. Thank you! read more

THEY WILL RUIN YOUR PAINT! When we bought our car in June (2024CRV-hybrid) the finance gal went on and on about their paint, how it's sealed and they really want it to stay protected and clean. Well, I wasn't surprised that the free car wash that came with the service SUCKED..(they missed the back and the black rims looks atrocious). What surprised both of us are the SWRILES they left in the paint! When the light hits it was shimmery and beautiful. Now it has circular scratches everywhere. Absolute trash! I was going to keep it, now I don't want it. When the lease is up, you can have it! And the vague AI response I got on my Google review shows how out of touch and uncaring they are. My original experience with Unicars was not very good. I called about a car to make sure it was in stock. I set up an appointment to look at it and let them know I was coming from far away but when I got there they said the car was gone. A sales manager later called me and was very apologetic. A few weeks later they got the same car back in stock so I gave them another shot. The salesman, Gabriel, was very kind and knowledgeable. He was not pushy either. When I let them know I was interested the gentleman in finance was a bit pushy. I kept requesting to see numbers in writing and he was pressuring me to shake on the deal right away. When I made it into the finance office and finally saw numbers there were some problems. I saw the value for my trade in was entered as $2000 less than I verbally agreed to earlier. Also there was a $3000 service contract added in that nobody had talked about yet. I was trying to share the numbers with my wife over the phone but was told they didn't want me to take photographs of the price breakdown sheet. I reached a point where I was satisfied with the deal and bought the car but it took a lot of back and forth in the finance office. So overall, this was not the best experience I've had purchasing a car but not the worst either. Note, they are listing new cars with a $3000 markup due to the current car shortage. Other dealers I contacted were asking for a higher markup though. read more

If I could give them 0 starts I would! Came in for my regular oil change as I usually do and the gentleman at the desk was super nice. They recommended I do a tire alignment as it "didn't pass" the alignment inspection they do. I let them know I would do it next time as I was already doing a transmission fluid change which was recommended last time I came in which wasn't even brought up till I brought it up which I thought was weird. At the end the gentleman told me a whole list of things I needed to get repaired. I let him know that's it's not in my budget so I would have to schedule the service at another time. I then took it to a different mechanic to compare pricing and that is when they told me that everything was good and there was no need to replace anything BUT the driver side axle. I didn't even need an alignment. So I don't recommend getting your service done here unless you want to pay for things you don't even need!!! read more

A few weeks back my husband and I started the process of selling our car, we were moving overseas and had decided against storing it. I had reached out to a couple different dealerships in the area. Unicars was actually not on my list and they reached out to me to make an appointment. I had made the appointment with Rebecca and was told to ask for here when we arrived. Upon walking in a man asked how he could help and I let him know I had an appointment with Rebecca for an appraisal, he immediately said, "Oh no, she's just a receptionist, you'll want to speak to our sales person." I was pretty immediately put off by that response and a little confused since Rebecca was very specific in her emails to ask for her. Upon meeting with the sales guy, I do not remember his name, he barely spoke to me, requested my keys and walked out. There was absolutely no conversation and I really felt like we were inconveniencing him. When he came back in he quotes 2k under the low end of KBB. My husband and I were obviously pretty shocked by that and as soon as our keys were returned to us the salesman turned and walked away. The entire experience was so off putting that weeks later it is still in my mind. If you're looking for better customer service and better atmosphere drive the distance to Honda of the Desert. We were paid the high end of KBB and walked out within 30 minutes with a check. I'm not sure why a company would reach out to a customer if they weren't actually interested in buying.
