SCAM - stay far far away! They received the claim from our insurance, came over to drop off the check, there was no check, had us sign "check receipt form" on 11/3 and have heard nothing since. So I ended up having to warranty my roof with the contractor and the contractor informed me that technically the warranty is no longer valid and he could put a lien on my property since UNI did not pay them the full amount. The contractor did not do that luckily but being left in a rough position because UNI will not do what they say. STAY AWAY. read more

I was approached by UNI Adjustor in my neighborhood. They claimed to know my tenant. They did a review of my roofs and said they would contact my insurance company to start a claim. The insurance company started the first installment and then cancelled my policy. UNI kept the insurance check so I could not pay for any repairs. I was told UNI would give me my insurance and to wait for the manager to come in the office. But no check has been released. This is an update to my original review. The work was done and finalized on 10/02/2020. I had a much better experience this time around when Liz Garcia from UNI took on my project back in 05/2020. She was great at maintaining contacts and facilitate conversations between the parties, which is exactly what I originally hired UNI to do. UNI definitely helped with the negotiations with insurance, as at the start of the process, our insurance only wanted to pay for about 10% of the final value, they went back and forth a few times with the insurance and got a substantial increase in value through experienced adjusters. I think before Liz Garcia, UNI just had issues with personnel that wasn't staying on top of things and let them slip through the cracks. Liz was able to finally get my claim finalized and roof installed in about 4 months. I had some negative experiences with the contractors they partnered with, but those are separate reviews and are out of UNI's control, I have shared them with UNI privately in the effort to help with future projects. Overall, I'm happy with the way things turned out because I wouldn't have been able to get the value of the roof I wanted from my insurance if I did it myself, and despite the initial hiccups (see my old review). Going forth, I hope UNI continues to be more selective with their internal personnel and external contractors, and continue to hold everyone to a higher level of customer support. read more

Update: after someone finally got around to getting back to me- something about an office move- they were able to able to resolve my issue. Shady business practices, terrible customer support. They don't even have an office at the address listed. I have tried to call them countless times and no one has bothered to return a call within three weeks. read more

Tough Process to go through, but totally worth it. I got a brand new roof done by a licensed bonded insured contractor for only my $500 deductible! Amazing! (if you're reading this as research, be patient with them, this process takes awhile for sure) read more

I have been going through this process for over a year. Once they received the check from my insurance company I never heard anything from them. I had to call multiple time a week with no reply then once I was able to get a call back I was told someone would be out to finish the process of the roof. They were of course a no show and now I am back to trying to get a hold of them. I have been emailing Liz because she said it was easier for her to respond that way but of course NO REPLY! read more

Trying to find the catch? I'll save you the experience. The catch is in the 20% of the RCV and a battle of willpower. What happens is: they open a claim, insurance responds. They verbally "reassure" you about how much "work" they are doing. Then they sit and wait, and wait, and just when you think... ok, maybe this week. They wait some more. Essentially, they confirm that insurance will cover the job, once they get their goal of full replacement cost they wait you out. Hoping you cancel the agreement giving them 20% of the cost of a new roof and all for a couple hours worth of work. For example: I had them open my claim in Sept 2019. They emailed back and fourth with my insurance rep less than a handful of times, met him onsite once, and by Nov 2019 my full roof was approved by my insurance. Come December UNI was "still trying to work with insurance to approve even more", and in January we "were looking good, install is just around the corner". Me trying to sell my house come May (8 months later), can no longer wait for them to actually perform work, and have to back out of my contract to hire someone else to actually perform the work. Now I have to cover the 20% RCV of a 10k job out of pocket, plus my deductible. They're agreement prohibits you from talking directly to your insurance, because if you did, you'd know that the work had been approved months ago. I know because I paid for it... when I changed contractors I asked my insurance rep for all their correspondence. They literally sat on my check for 6 months, not even one email to my agent. They were working "so hard." I paid the price enough for the both of us. Save yourself the headache and go directly through a contractor. read more

eware...Shady Scammers!!! Never completed the work. The work they did do was crap. I couldn't communicate with any of their "contractors" because they spoke very little to no English. They didn't answer the phone for 2 months full months!(not joking) We always get a recording. When I did finally get someone on the phone they refused to give me phone numbers for anyone that worked there or the contractors. They use crooked companies to "fix" your home. They probably get kick backs from the "CONTRACTORS" Disaster Services. The company they sent tore the ceiling out my 5' x 9' bathroom and put up what looked like trash bags on my ceiling for 7 months!! Sent my insurance company a bill for $4,300.00! There was all kinds of charges on the invoice that never happened. They billed my insurance for 5 days of work, when they were actually there for about 6 hours total. Charged weekend after hour wages when they didn't show up to do the work on the weekday they scheduled. Even charged $200.00 for an emergency call. I never even made an Emergency call. Disaster Services called me! They went behind our backs and had one of checks reissued when we refused to endorse the check. They even had the nerve to ask us to change our review of here, then on the same call they wanted us to sign the final check!!! As of today still have not completed the work. In fact, the only times we EVER heard from them is when they wanted us to sign a check. I also never received the check they told me they were mailing to me over 2 months ago. Any good reviews they have on here are probably written by themselves. I will could post some pictures I have of the CRAP work they do. This place is ass backwards. I would never recommend this company! First they started off with lies, assuring that their fee would not come from the money I was supposed to receive back from my insurance. After I waited for over 3 months for a response, they received more money then I did, therefore I will not have sufficient funds to fix not even half of the damage made. I would rather do this whole process on my own even tho it may take longer instead of hiring companies like this one who benefits from someone else's needs. Not a great impression from two "Not Salesmen". I generally try to give every salesperson the respect they deserve. It takes a lot of courage to go door to door trying to make a sale. After listening to a very rushed pitch (I assume he may have been nervous) I tried to politely tell them that I was not interested. They tried to convince me that I needed to hear them out, that they were definitely "Not Salesmen". I told them I was becoming more skeptical since they were talking even faster. They persisted in trying to tell me that "they just got one of my neighbor's roofs covered through insurance." The house they pointed at is a friend of mine and I know that the roof was replaced without insurance coverage as part of a remodel. I told them again that I was not interested. They began to talk over each other to try to convince me and even called their "supervisor" who rolled up seconds later in an unmarked white truck. At this point I became worried about the safety of my family and told them that they had better leave my property immediately. They finally decided to walk away, insisting that they did not realize there was a problem. As they left, one of the two said "...do your research." I just did, and if I do decide to use a public adjuster, it definitely will not be this company. read more
