I misplaced a key from my home safe. I called Underisky locksmith and reached Roman. Roman asked to see the picture of the safe and gave me the best price. He promised to come in 1 hour and was on time. He opened my safe within 15 minutes and helped me to remove the attached screws. Then I asked Roman to take a look at my front door lock and to replace it. That was done fast as well. Roman is very pleasant and personable, a pleasure to do business with. I would recommend Roman to my family and friends without hesitation. Thank you Roman for job well done! read more

Roman is a star! He came highly recommended from a couple of other people in my building for smart lock installations, and he lives up to his reputation. He was responsive over text and arrived on time. He knew everything he was supposed to do, and explained the mechanics of the lock before he left. Installed a Yale Nest lock on a metal door in 30 minutes. Recommending him to everyone I know! read more

I've worked with Roman on multiple projects. He changed out the locks when I first bought my home. After renovating my home, he fixed a broken lock and added a lock box and digital lock for my Airbnb. He always answers the phone, provides quick service and is very knowledgeable about which locks work best for your needs. I can't recommend him enough to anyone who will listen. I've referred him to neighbors and to my contractor because he's so reliable. I highly recommend him! read more

Roman answered his phone, responded quickly to my request and was at my home completing what I needed within 12 hours! Highly recommend!

Thank you, Roman! We called him on a Friday afternoon to change the cylinder in our new locks and he was able to come the very same day. He was in and out in 15 minutes, and charged us way less than every other company I contacted. Very nice, very professional, and a job well done. Thank you! read more

Installed a smart lock in older pre-war building (metal door and metal door frame). Roman did an incredible job in little time. He was honest, punctual, and a very reasonable price point. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He explained exactly what he was doing and gave me tips on how to troubleshoot and understand how the lock and its installation works. This gave me complete confidence that he was interested in doing a good job and not trying to up-sell services. He came on short notice and was very responsive. Roman was quick, thorough, and cleaned up after the job leaving no trace of the work involved. I was amazed at how efficient he was and that the work has been done flawlessly. The lock was great, absolutely no problems. Roman gets my highest recommendation. You will not be disappointed! read more

Quick and honest service, if you have an issue with your lock Roman will help you fairly and quickly. He came out same day in less than 20 mins to fix a broke lock, and offered me multiple options at different price points and never felt like I was getting taking advantage of. Highly recommend if you are having any door or lock issues. read more

Thorough, cleat and hinest. Used him three times during dv incident and he was responsive and clear on my options. Highly recommend

About a year and a half ago we had to change the locks on our front door. I found Roman on Yelp and contacted him. He came out right away, changed our locks and even recommended and installed a deadbolt. This was all done quickly, professionally and at a fair price. It was such a relief to have this issue so easily resolved. Fast forward to now, the deadbolt has been working great, but we started to notice that the part where you insert the key was getting loose. I figured I'd reach out to Roman again to get his advice (is it something we could fix? or would he need to fix it?). He responded right away, remembered the lock, and came over quickly to fix the issue. This was truly above and beyond what I had expected when I initially reached out. It's this kind of service and attention to detail that truly deserves 5 stars. read more

Called him at 9:30pm on a holiday night for non-urgent rekeying and he was here at 10:45am the next morning (which was the time that worked best for my schedule). Quoted me a reasonable price instantly after seeing the photo I sent and hearing what I was looking for. It took him 20 minutes max to complete the service. He was kind, professional, quick, clean and courteous. He let me pay via Venmo. I found him through Yelp and I'm so glad I did! Thank you, Roman! read more

Roman was fantastic. Quick, polite, skillful, and fairly priced. I would highly recommend his services. My request wasn't an emergency - it was to fix a lock on old piece of mid-century furniture. But he was in the area, so came over within the hour. After a quick assessment, he talked me through the options and price to make sure I understood everything, and then went to work. Even though he was dealing with a piece of furniture over 60 years old, with old fashioned locks that he might not have ever seen before, he figured it all out super quickly, and the lock now works like new. I was very happy with Roman! read more

Professional service. Done in 45 minutes, everything works as I wanted and I am satisfied with the installation of my new apartment door locks. Great price for how fast he was able to show up and complete the task for me. read more

Roman/Undersky is an INCREDIBLE LOCKSMITH. Hiring one is no small feat, as most of the times one needs a locksmith are usually times of great duress. I imagine that his calm demeanor, expert workmanship, clear, prompt, and specific communication, and attention to even the smallest detail, all come in really handy during such stressful moments. Fortunately, these qualities were also quite evident when I hired him for some before-the-emergency work. I contracted Roman/Undersky after soliciting 4 total quotes from other locksmiths. Yes, his quote was the lowest (by more than half in two cases!). But it was also the fastest, not the closest, but definitely the most specific, and the most responsive to the exact work I explained I wanted done. I had several follow-up e-mails as we narrowed down scheduling, payment, purchasing of the lock I wanted (and that would fit), and other minor details, and each time I wrote, he wrote back within minutes, moving the process along expeditiously. This non-emergency job was requested and completed within 36 hours, which is so much faster than I ever thought it would be. Roman/Undersky is an incredible example of how sometimes, one can get far, far more than one has to pay. Roman's lowest quote was accompanied by what I am sure was a premier level of service. I contracted Roman to do three jobs in two nearby locations: (1) an entirely new smart lock installation in a metal/concrete frame door (which others told me could not be done), (2) a standard door lock repair, and (3) a standard lock replacement. He knows what he's doing, came equipped with everything, and was extremely respectful of my home. When he needed a special concrete drill bit because my door frame was concrete behind the metal frame, he was ready after a quick trip to his vehicle. None of the little nuanced issues that arose were a challenge to him. He made sure to clean up during and after each job was done at both locations. Yes, that is Roman using my power vac to clean up every bit of dust he created when drilling and shaping my door frame in order for the bolt to fit perfectly when closed. Anybody else know a locksmith that vacuums? His attention to detail was so awesome, that he even used some of his extra screws to fill the hole in the door left by the lock he removed. His solution was effective, cost-conscious, and natural to his way of working. He completed three distinct jobs in two nearby locations in an incredibly professional manner within 90 minutes, start to finish. I wasn't his first customer of the day, nor his last, but he made me feel like I was his most important customer. Payment via Venmo (or cash, or credit cards, were also options) was quick, exactly what he quoted (despite some unexpected issues with my door and frame -- not his fault), and was accompanied by a detailed invoice (for anyone that needs to be reimbursed or include it for Uncle Sam's nosy self). I almost wish I had more locks to fix and replace because he made this entire experience completely wonderful. So just know that when I do have lock needs, he is the only one I'll call, text, e-mail, or Venmo. He's been in business for nearly a decade, and his is one small business I will support every time I can! He helped me in a bind, did so with a smile, when I needed him to, at the price I could afford, and left me feeling safer and happy, but not broke. That's priceless peace of mind on many levels, in my opinion. read more

Roman was fast, professional and efficient. I called him in the afternoon and asked for a quote after explaining the issue with my lock, he asked that I send him pictures and he followed up in a matter of minutes with the quote. I appreciated that Roman offered me 2 reasonable quotes (one for just the cylinder and another for the cylinder and a new door knob). I was thinking he would be available later in the week but he was available the same day. I am so happy that I found him and that he was quickly able to replace my janky lock. He also offered a 1 year warranty on the installation which is also a plus! read more

Quoted a better price than two others, got here quickly, and even waited while I was held up on a zoom call. Thank you!

Roman is extremely helpful and knows his trade very well. I really appreciate how responsive he is and also his very fair and transparent pricing. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone! read more

Oh how I wish I had more locks to be added. In this day and age you appreciate people that can be responsive and do what they say. Undersky Locksmith does that and then some! I needed a smart lock installed here comes Roman on the case. He is quite thorough and friendly. Roman also advised me of next steps of how to improve my door which would require a change of lock. I didn't mind that because the rationale made sense. Boom! He installed a new passerlock for me. This was all at a reasonable price that I could work with. If you want professionalism, responsiveness and a job well done. This company is the choice. read more

I got locked out of my apartment while walking my dogs. (I mistook my receipt for a new pair of Crocs for my keys!) It was about to start pouring so I was in a hurry to get outside. When I realized I was locked out, I first called the locksmith on the sticker on my door, but they gave me a half hour estimate! My dogs are scared of rain, and it was thundering, so I was not about to terrorize my babies waiting outside in that kind of weather. I called Undersky Locksmith, and five minutes later, Roman arrived (for real!). He was polite and professional. He made me feel comfortable and worked efficiently. He had a lot of tools with him that could help him unlock a variety of types of locks. I'm not as paranoid of getting locked out anymore, knowing this professional is a phone call away. 5/5 stars, definitely recommend! PS. while writing this review, the rude man from the other company called, confused, and hung up in a hurry. #awkward So glad that I called Undersky and had someone COMPETENT unlock my door for me. Locks ain't no joke! read more

Roman has done several projects for my office. He is extremely professional, responsive and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable! He explains each step he takes so that you understand what type of lock it is, what he's using to replace it with and so on. I have worked with other companies' locksmiths who do not clearly explain what they are doing and who do not put in even half the effort. For example, we tried to get an opinion/quote on whether or not an electronic keyed lockpad could be installed on a metal residential door and one locksmith simply said "no" - but Roman took one look at some pictures and quickly came up with some options/possible scenarios for us. Highly recommended! read more

I've worked with Roman twice and he is above and beyond one of the best professionals in the NYC area. Three years ago he helped my neighbors and me change our standard condo locks for mul-t-lock secure locks. He didn't try to upsell us to the more expensive version and worked very quickly. I called him most recently when my son broke our key off in the lock (deep in the lock) and he let me know he was on his way. He was efficient and a pleasure to work with. It's difficult to find someone reliable who isn't going to take advantage of you but Roman is just that. Highly recommend. read more

I wrote out draft from over than a year ago, but forgot to post it! Roman helped us secure all of the doors and locks in our building after a break-in. He was fast to respond, very clear in explaining options and costs, was super helpful and professional, and managed to get though the whole building in a day (4 apartment doors, 8 common doors, and heavy modifications to the front entrance). He even helped us installed a mail lockbox as a favor! I can't recommend him enough. read more

My smart lock just froze up and died, and that model had no key. Bad luck. I went onto Yelp and searched locksmith and my area and the one with the best reviews was Roman and Undersky Locksmith. He came quickly, evaluated the situation and gave me choices of what I could get and at what prices. I was happy to pay extra for a good quality smart lock that wouldn't die--and that came with a key. Especially when last year I hired a cheaper locksmith and the lock broke after 6 months and I had to get another lock all over again. Roman ordered it on Amazon next day delivery installed it the next day. He was very professional and explained things well. Cheap folks who just want a cheap lock? Not Roman's lane. But if you want a lock that won't break, and if anything happens he'll be right back, I loved Roman and Undersky Locksmith! read more

What the hell do I know about finding a locksmith? And that's when I'm in California! Imagine me having to find one when I'm in NY. So I request a quote on Yelp and out of all the ones who responded, Roman's was the best. He comes out, I let him know what I'm planning, he accesses stuff and gives me some options, and then he goes about doing his thing. Even when I have a last minute change or two, he knocks it out with ease. So I'm not all that familiar with all the boroughs or how long it takes to get from one part of town to another, I also think driving can be a bit of an adventure and why aren't there more freeways out here, and I would like totally prefer taking the subway than Uber, and I've probably gone off track again, but here's the thing with Undersky Locksmith: Roman is out there growing his brand, business, hustle, whatever, he's a small business owner competing with the big boys, and he's fast, efficient, and friendly, so when you happen to need a locksmith in NYC, please give this dude a call - he's pretty good. read more

Undersky Locksmith owner Roman was terrific! I found him through these Yelp reviews, so wanted to add one of my own. We moved into a new place, and needed to get new locks, have one whole "smart lock" unit on the front door replaced, and wanted matching keys for each of two different lock sets. I called Roman, we chatted briefly, and I texted him photos of the current doors/locks. He then called me back, we talked about the lock options, and he gave me clear pricing for each lock (lock hardware + installation as one price). Roman showed up on time, more a mask, was careful to ask about decisions in terms of new lock placement, confirmed different steps at different moments--and asked for a broom to sweep up the sawdust and debris when he was done. The price at the end matched (plus tax) what he said it would be when we started. I thought the pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the high-quality service. Highly recommended! read more

If you are looking for a locksmith in NYC, look no further. I and my assistant called about ten of them. Most of them are answering services and try to gouge you. Roman was communicative, pleasant to work with, highly knowledgeable, and fairly priced. He was able to resolve my issue in minutes so I could get on with my day. I can't recommend him highly enough. Couldn't believe I locked my keys in my apartment after bringing in groceries. It was a Homer Simpson "D'oh" moment. I quickly flipped through yelp to find a reliable locksmith and after looking at a few options, I settled on Undersky. I called at 6:51pm. Roman came at 7:19pm! He looked at the two possible entry points and went with the one that would cause the least amount of damage. I was in my apartment by 7:23pm!!! He changed the lock, gave me the new keys, and all is now well. Cost $200. I am one happy camper! I highly recommend Undersky Locksmith. Great guy named Roman came by opened up the safe we were having no success with, quick efficient. Great job.

Called at 11:40am and was inside my apartment by 12:15. So much better than my past experiences-- the price I was quoted on the phone was the price I paid (I've had other places do a bait and switch). They don't farm out the work through a switchboard like ither places. Price was reasonable and Roman is pleasant to deal with. read more

Undersky Locksmith - A new deadbolt lock installation - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

My mother had an old lock on her front door that finally gave up the ghost after over 40 years of service. She wanted to keep the original but finding parts for it didn't seem worth the effort. We needed a solution that would maintain the original aesthetic, but also let her lock her door that night. Roman from Undersky Locksmiths came by just before 10 at night, clearly described our options and came up with a solution that my mother was more than happy with. He was prompt, fast and professional. We couldn't have asked for or expected a better experience. Highly, highly recommend! read more
