Truck drivers, especially small fleets, please, beware of this repair shop!…read more 2nd to None Service takes full advantage of their remote NM location and can unfortunately do a lot of damage to your bottom line. It's great to read positive media coverage about the owners, but the media has failed to paint the whole picture of why they are successful. Has your truck broken down nearby? Their towing service is cheaper than the competition, but they charge unbelievably astronomical prices for their repair work (and parts) once they have you at the shop (where you have no other choice but to accept their rates).

It was a bit longer off the highway than I thought it would be. I think my navigator took me off the wrong exit at first cause when we left it was much closer to the get back on the road. The people in the front office and the repair guys were very nice. They have this German Shepard in the office that is very shy but seems sweet enough. Our check engine light was on. At first they said it would take until the next day to get it fixed. I told them we couldn't stay in this town. They said they would do what they could to get us back on the road. And they did! In a few hours we were back on our way to LA. They even called a few days later to check on us, mailed a thank you postcard to thank us for or service and sent us an email. Now however, they are sending emails weekly or biweekly. If you don't like a lot of junk emails, don't provide your email.

I'm sure this shop is good at the basics, but my experience with my Jetta was an absolute fail…read more After a friend and longtime customer raved about the quick and thorough service, I thought I'd give them a try. I was going to go to the dealer because it was a bit more complicated issue - the EPC light. But the owner assured me she could check this for me. She told me to have my car there the next morning by 9:00am and they'd check it out. Almost two days passed without any info regarding my car. I made 4 or 5 calls to inquire, each time the person that answered said he'd check with the owner and call me back. No call back ever happened. Finally, late afternoon the second day I called again, got the owner who said she was just getting ready to call me(?!). She said she "ran the codes" and the car needed spark plugs, an oil change, new coil and an oil separator. Not really what I had read were common issues when the EPC light comes on... So with this quote, I was concerned; I had recently had the spark plugs replaced and my oil changed. She admittedly didn't even check the oil in this diagnostic appointment for which I was charged nearly $100. And to boot she kept saying "ESP" light, instead of "EPC." It was even in the written quote. Didn't make me feel very confident that 1) they would be able to address the EPC light issue and 2) they really knew what my car needed when two items had recently been done (plus she didn't even check my oil). She quoted me something over a $1,000 to do this work. I told her I needed my car (I never expected to not have transportation for two days) and I would get back to her at which point I had to pay a diagnostic fee for something done hastily upon my 4th or 5th call and wasn't even accurate. Thank goodness I rescheduled my previous appointment with the dealership. They looked at my car, called me within an hour and it turned out it was my cooling fan, it had broken causing the car to not be able to cool and thus making the EPC light come on. I paid little more at the dealer than the crazy erroneous quote from Autocare 2000. I think they didn't know what the problem was and decided to just throw out the most basic common issues hoping that would bandaid the problem. I tell you this so you think twice before going there if it's something more complicated, because chances are you'll have to pay for something that's not even the problem and then pay again to actually fix the issue elsewhere.

Ben proceeded to call me later that afternoon stating that he could not find my keys. After multiple calls I decided to have a locksmith come open the vehicle to check for keys, no luck! Knowing the area this shop is located, I could not leave my vehicle in the street so I had to have a tow truck come deliver it to my house.Ben denied ever having the keys, but 2 days later he said he found them. Ben would not pay for the locksmith or tow because I did not leave my vehicle with him to be worked on. Can't trust a guy like that who won't take responsibility for his mistake. Do not bring your vehicle here. Update after business's reply: This comment should show potential customers that this man has poor customer service and quite frankly, a lack of character. Why would I let you drag my vehicle with a uhaul trailer, that I brought in for a locked center differential? So you can then scam me for a transmission or some other issue that was not present before. I'm not going to give you my business if you can't retain simple possession of the keys. If you were unaware sir, vehicles are also broken into and stolen in our city all of the time. Your failure to pull my vehicle into your yard before your errand also shows that you have poor business practices and a lack of concern for customer's property. Mistakes happen, but denial of accountability privately, then attempting to maintain a good appearance publicly is just sad. A simple apology instead of being upset that I'm taking my business elsewhere would have sufficed. Reimbursement for the issue the you caused would have been better but you wanted to get ugly, so this review is for everyone to see, that is on you, sir.

At first he gave a low estimate, but after he received the used transmission, he realized that it would take a little time, but he adjusted the bill. It was a little more than I thought it would be but it was worth it. There was also a problem with my left front wheel bearing, but he only charged me for the part. Right now it's as good as new. I want to thank Ben for everything. Also, I got the transmission from an online account that went thru Swizz.com. The guys were Eric and Ken that got in touch with me from carspartus@gmail.com. My payment went to Fenix Parts. It worked out very well and I am pleased with the transmission. I had to pay for a 5 year parts and labor warranty, but it is worth every penny.
