Usually not the type to write reviews but seeing previous comments on this store is affirming. Just to preface, I've been coming to this store for years. The customer service (among other things) has declined vastly.
This is a long review but basically I walked in and purchased two items on Saturday, 05/3/2025. Was browsing and I could instantly feel employees hovering over and "watching me" covertly.
Now, I look to be really young (which is a double edged sword in situations like this) so I'm not sure if I was perceived as a teenager who was going to grab and go but I am 28 with a Masters degree and great financial security, which means I have no need to steal lol.
I recognized two of the employees but there was a caucasian gentleman with a short hair cut in particular whose vibe I picked up on. When I was waiting for another product at the register, he came over (mind you was not at the register to begin with) picked up the shirt (kind of aggressively) I was going to buy and then moved it closer to the other employee and then walked away. He then went back to where he originally was standing, and waited towards the door. Didn't even do it discreetly lol. I would have respected if he would have said some thing along the lines of "just this shirt today?" Or something but at least play it off. Like? Come on dude. His actions spoke more and gave me insights on the vibe they were on in that moment (at least with me). Just very off putting because I had never experienced anything like this in this store before. He would not make eye contact until I had already paid for the stuff and was already walking out of the store. I even heard him interacting with a couple who was walking out of the store at the same time as me. But for me? No hello, no acknowledgement, nothing. Just held his head down on his phone and I guess gave his colleagues the cue to watch over me. Even when I was looking at the shoes on the wall, I turn around and one of the employees is just staring at me lmao. Very weird, rude, and unnecessary discriminatory behavior.
I always play stupid, to avoid confrontation, and act like I don't notice these things but I do. And what kind of bothers me is I really do like Undefeated's products but it sucks that my gut is telling me to just stay away from this store.
I see why the line outside of Stussy (located across the street from this Undefeated) is always long and booming. They have great customer service and actually **humanize** their customers. Undefeated on the other end feels like a different weird dimension and it'll be interesting to see where it'll head in the future with this type of customer service behavior. Words of advice: don't judge a book by its cover, check your personal biases, treat others with kindness, and just do better! Thanks. read more
