Uncle's is a pretty great gaming shop. It's one of the few places in Redmond Town Center that I actually WANT to go to these days. Their selection of board games is fantastic and their stock of card games is well above average. I tend to come here to pick up supplies (dice, sleeves, etc) more often than not because it's right by my job. The staff here is great. I've never encountered anyone behind the counter that isn't in tune with the gaming or nerd culture, so it's nice to be able to talk to people who actually know the products they sell. On the downside, tournaments here can be a pain. Space is somewhat limited so whenever a tournament reaches capacity you're usually sitting shoulder to shoulder with other people. Not the best of circumstances, but there are much worse places to play in the area. Prices are a tad bit higher than normal, but that's to be expected on the East side and Seattle. Location is pretty good, love being a quick walk away from real food and not forced to eat junk food that most gaming stores offer if I get hungry while at a tournament or event. read more

Came here thru an invite from my friend to play board games. They have a whole wall full of games that you can borrow to play. They also have several tables for you to sit at and play games. There's a huge variety of games to purchase. On Friday nights, they host free late night gaming sessions from 5 pm-12 am, which is pretty awesome. They also host Magic & Pokemon and other game nights during the week. The staff was really nice and friendly. It's a nice place to hang out and relax and play board games. read more

This is one of the few shops that makes up for the Redmond Town Center being a giant complex of yuppies and one of the best gaming shops in Redmond. I've been in there numerous times and no matter how sleep deprived I am, drugged out I look, or how many minutes I just spent on the children's play thing underneath the escalators the staff has been always treated me like a decent human being. They have a wide knowledge of games and most of the time can help you figure out what game you are looking for from sketchy details. read more

when i first moved to redmond area, i didn't know where to go to buy games. of the two i found in the area, uncle's had the friendlier sales people. back when i was looking for pandemic and bang! (both were being reprinted), i checked with uncles a few times and got put on their list. in both cases they actually called me back as the games arrived and held it for me for up to 7 days. they've also been helpful in recommending games (fairly accurate because many of the games they recommended based on my description were games i've played and liked). the store itself isn't very large and the games are harder to find because they feel squished into an area (ask a sales person to help you find it if you're looking for something specific). and being in redmond town center could be a pain because of parking/traffic depending on when you go. they sell games at label price which means that you can usually get it for cheaper from an online vendor. however if you want a game immediately or if you want help finding the right game, then uncle's your place. read more

This is a nice game store. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and they have a good selection. The staff are always willing to help answer questions and will demo games if you are uncertain from first glance. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. I really enjoy roaming through this store and checking out all the interesting odds & ends. read more

The staff is super knowledgeable about the games (seems obvious, but not always the case), happy to give a recommendation, and the store is well organized despite the massive amount of inventory they keep. If you like jigsaw puzzles and board games, this store has them ALL! I personally like interesting 1000 piece puzzles, and I found one of all chocolate...my other passion. When you enter, the entire wall from the ground up features an arsenal of puzzles. I would go here instead of Toys R Us if you're looking for variety. read more

Great place to play Magic (aside from some other players)... We play Magic (FNM/Drafts/Etc) at stores all over the Puget Sound. Uncle's is great with a friendly staff, the best judge ever (more below), a wide assortment of cards available for sale and a comfortable place to play. More below on who you are playing against. BEST MAGIC JUDGE EVER: James is the best judge ever to run MTG events. He has an expert knowledge of Magic, explains the rules clearly, runs events very well. If there were a MTG Judges Hall of Fame like the MTG Players Hall of Fame, James would be in it... BE WARNED: Some of the folks who play Magic here are annoying to play against (arrogant, unhelpful and way too serious) compared to other places. It is sort of like playing in a PTQ all the time. read more

I will have to admit that I am a little bias towards this store as it holds a special place in my heart. It was here that my 4th grade love for both Magic: The Gathering and board games was rekindled. I stumbled upon the store one day and happened to notice people inside playing a card game that looked vaguely familiar to me. Upon closer inspection, I realized they were playing Magic and was surprised to learn that the game was still in existence and even still had yearly sets released for it! From there, it all went downhill... Before I knew it, I had left the store with 6 booster packs. Two of which were opened while walking out of the store. I probably looked like a drug addict as I was savoring that new card smell I didn't know I missed so much. Uncle's Games in Redmond has always had nearly every board game/card game item in stock that I have needed. Should they not have it, the employee's have always offered to custom order it for me and have it shipped to the store for my pickup if I so desired. They have so many board games it's a little ridiculous. Things like your typical childhood board games of Monopoly, Chess or Pictionary to the more mature and esoteric but equally great games like Settlers of Catan, Descent or Small World are all on their shelves. Even better are the events the store holds. There are weekly game nights where you can come and try out any board game you want. Should you do so, you also get some % off any games you end up buying that night and you may meet some new friends. Then there are the Magic tournaments that they have every pre-release and release of the new sets along with weekly draft tournaments and an excellent judge James presiding over them all. I know I try to use this Uncle's Games as much as I can when I'm in the need for a hit of Magic or when I've found some now board game I want to try out. Their prices are fairly reasonable. They are usually a little pricier then any online stores but not by enough to influence my purchasing decisions. read more

My favorite game store. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable here. The location is great (being in a mall). They host a bunch of Magic events here and it's a reasonably good set up for it. They have a bunch of games where you can grab on and try it out with some friends before buying at the tables in the back. They have a bunch of neat accessories for games, too. Their selection on products is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, the prices are stock standard so you might not be saving much coming here. But, Amazon has its own markups and selection there isn't always as good as in-store. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for games to come here before checking online. read more

I called to see if they had a certain board game in stock, they didn't, but Jennifer called another store to see if they had it in stock. They did, she offered to stop by there on the way to work the next day to bring it to her store so I could come in and purchase it.
