Love coming here after a visit to the Woodfield Mall. They're inside the mall itself so that makes it that much convenient to shop and dine. The chips they bring out when you're seated is reason enough to eat there. The chips are light, crispy, flavorful, warm, you can just tell and taste that it's freshly made. If you order any of the cheese dipping sauces to add with your chips, you're in taste bud heaven. My favorite cocktail is there Chili Pepper Margarita. Spicy and sweet with the right amount of kick. For the appetizer try either the dipping sauces for your chips or there shrimp wrapped in bacon. Very delicious. For the entree I recommend the carne asada cooked medium. Dare I say, a better steak than these upscale places in Schaumburg? I thought so, very tender, and it taste like how beef should taste. Definitely do yourself a favor and pay a visit here. read more

Great location - excellent service - fresh, homemade food which is excellent! This location in the mall is very nice. Its directly across the isle from The Cheesecake Factory. Their is both indoor and outdoor seating and the interior is brand new. Its a definite must eat at for the ambiance while shopping this holiday season! The food is terrific - I ordered the shrimp tacos which were very good and had just a little bit of heat to measure or the sweet mango salsa. Complimentary homemade chips and salsa are to die for! This place was pretty good but overpriced. I came here today and sat at the bar. The bartender- I believe her name was Victoria- was amazing and friendly. She gave me the chips and salsa like every Mexican restaurant does and the salsa has a unique flavor that I haven't tried before. It was really good! The chips were the thin kind and not the thicker kind you get at Lalo's which was a bit of a shame. I ordered the blackberry margarita and it would've been perfect if there wasn't pulp in it. It made it difficult to drink through the straw at times. Lastly I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas medium rare. Quality wise, it was absolutely delicious? But quantity? The portion was too small. I can't imagine anyone getting full on it. If I had a big appetite then I would've been very disappointed. But I guess you pay more for the quality than quantity. For what it is , I enjoyed it. This isn't Topolobampo its a slightly upscale fast casual Chili's kinda thing. The menu is large and has what you would expect many different combination platters, tacos, enchiladas. We started with the impressive table side Guac, it was chunky and quite yummy. Drinks...I almost forgot drinks they have a large and impressive looking and priced drink list. most Margaritas topping the $10 mark. The 2 faily pedestrian ones we had we both very good and fairly over priced...but its Woodfield I guess that's to be expected. The place is large and I cant imagine what the rent must be. I spent a few years in the mall running different stores. Feeling tex-mex calling me I had the Skirt Steak and Cheese Enchiladas, about as Tex Mex as you can get. My wife got a large combination. I was quite surprised how well cooked and flavorful the steak was and the enchiladas were top notch. Absolutely no complaints. My wife liked her combo of everything but wasn't floored by it. They give you plenty of food for leftovers. If it wasn't for the price I live to go back but at almost $100 for 2 is just a bit more than it's worth. The guacamole was not very good, there were still chunks of avocado in it, and, again, I would recommend some lime and salt in it to give it more flavor. The queso - I have no idea what was up with the queso, but it wasn't good. My friend says that her enchilada was good, but that she wasn't impressed with the beans. The decorations are awesome, though! The bathrooms were a whole other situation. Me and my friends went to the bathroom and it was nice and clean, had a cool sink, you know? A nice bathroom. We came back, and 30 minutes later my mom had to go to the bathroom. When she came back, she looked like she was going to puke She said it smelled like death in there and that there was toilet paper all over the ground! So far do good, they finally opened this location in Woodfield Mall. My first unfortunate event was when they do not have horchata. Menu primarily focuses on fajitas. Besides that they offer limited authentic dishes and several Tex-Mex ones. Everything is made from scratch, including the tortillas. The complementary chips and salsa is like abuela made. Now I'll wait on my meal. Hopefully everything will match the look and feel of this new gen inside the mall. Welcome to our circle of favorites! He forgot the salt (ummmm huh?) and he basically threw it on our table. This is where thinggs start to get worst. The manager (her name is May) has no customer service and basically was unapologetic. She took the guac away and said there was no anyone else who could re-make it. Next comes my entree. Remember, I come here all the time and literally order the same thing every month. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. I asked for well done. As you can see from the picture, it was very red inside. When I told the manager May about it, she was like sorry I can't do anything about it because I already took the guacamole off your bill. I took my father-in-law and grandmother-in-law here with my husband for father's day and I was pretty pleased with the aesthetics inside. The hostesses in the front were also very sweet and accommodating which was a major plus since they really set the tone for the restaurant. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience wasn't the best. The restaurant has TOO MUCH going on. They have someone pushing around a cart for margaritas to be made at your table as well as a cart someone else is pushing around to have guacamole made at your table. My problem with this is that the aisles were too narrow and we felt like the carts were going to be pushed into us. Plus it was annoying to have to push ourselves completely into the table to make room for them to have the cart behind us. It doesn't seem fair that we have to sit uncomfortably so that another table can enjoy the "show". It was also frustrating because the service was not great. Please don't get it wrong, the waitress was sweet and very knowledgable on the menu but she seemed very overwhelmed. She tried to take our order and we asked for a couple more minutes but didn't come back even after about 15 minutes so I had to ask another server to have her come back over. In terms of the food, it was all pretty good, but I was not a fan of the chocolate piñata. Well, the chocolate part was SO good, but the fruit seemed old and too bruised and not from falling from the piñata. The churros tasted like solid grease. This is no exaggeration, I've accidentally eaten solid grease, and it tastes EXACTLY like that. I don't recommend getting the tableside guac...I say if you want guac, just get it made in the kitchen. It's cheaper, even though it's the same thing. I did the tableside guac because I thought my in-laws would like to watch them make it but it was nothing special to see them make the guac. Even kind of boring. I'll probably be back here but I won't splurge to get the special items on the menu and I'll request to sit in a booth so I won't have to sit uncomfortably for the carts. read more

When I placed the order I asked to hold the peppers. The waiter said they dont separate the peppers and onions as they cook them together. For 19.99 for my meal of one and from "scratch" Cant even ask to separate the peppers and onions. I like peppers just didnt feel like eating it today. Just walked in and asked for a table. They were full with reservations until 7pm according to the front desk but was told to check the "first come, first serve" area. I found a table for 6 and asked the bar tender if we could sit there as the table had not been bussed. He told me he just gave it to someone but there was no one there. I reminded him it was first come first serve and he reiterated that he just gave it to someone (no one was near us). He walked away from me and I asked if there was another seat for us. I spotted a booth and asked if we could take the booth but he told me to ask the front desk which I told him the front desk told me to check with his area. He ignored me and continued to work. We recently visited Uncle Julio's for a birthday celebration. The chocolate piñata was ordered and the waitress wrote "Happy Birthday" on it with chocolate sauce, it was very sweet. The piñata itself is very fun. I would give 5 stars, but the pricing for dessert was a little high. I understand we are paying for the experience, but trying to justify a $20+ dessert that's just a chocolate ball filled with fruit and churros is kind of hard. It still is very tasty though! I went here for lunch today here are my issues: - Over 5 minutes to get a table for one when the place was not full - Over 10 mins before I was offered water or anything for that matter - Over 25 mins waiting on food (at lunch time) I ordered the salmon ($16.99) it was a decent sized portion but it was extremely bland, and the glaze was hardened by the time it reached my table. I was able to take a few bites and asked for a box and the check. The chips and salsa was the best thing going for this establishment. Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere for lunch. I've had different types of drinks here and all has been superb - not too diluted and doesn't taste like rubbing alcohol either. The complimentary chips and salsa are way too good to waste. EDGAR!!!!! this guy was on the bar by himself on a friday night getting his ass handed to him and he dealt with every single customer with grace and respect. there was an extremely rude couple across from myself and my group (there were nine of us) that LITERALLY yelled at him asking for chips and to place his order and he handled them with grace. there was another extremely inconsiderate and needy rude couple that almost walked behind the bar (these people are clearly not service people and haven't worked a friday night bar shift) and again, he handled them with grace. he had seven tables, an almost full bar top, and a large party of over 10 people that he took care of and i really appreciate him spreading himself so thin to make sure he executed all of the guests requests. people don't understand how much it takes to work in the service industry or how demeaning it is to listen to people yell at you when you're in the weeds!! he got this review because myself (a server) would've had some very colorful words to give to these assholes. cheers to you edgar for keeping a positive mindset and making our party of nine the most delicious drinks. come see edgar and tip him FAT! read more
