I'd like to start this post by saying most of the reviews that are 1 star seem like very sensitive people that are giving it a VERY bias review based on their own personal experience and not with the food. I ordered 3 meals and everything was outstanding. My own personal meal reminded me of a meal I got back home in St. Louis and could not be replicated in the Chicagoland area. The lomo en chile with a side of jalapeños. I mean outstanding. So much flavor and great portion size. As full as I was I couldn't stop eating it. The other 2 were asada taco dinners. Outstanding once again. Very authentic. Also got a large horchata and Jarritos. All of that food for only $50. Not only will I be going here again but I am having my company order meals for the store lunches we do. Do yourself a favor and come here for lunch or dinner. This restaurant is a decent quality dine but has multiple serious issues. Prices here are high, food quality for the price is mediocre. Sysco supplied shrimp in Bloody Mary sauce shouldn't be a $20 appetizer. Everything here is expensive. Even a jarritos will set you back nearly three times the price at the supermarket. The drinks here are more expensive than a gas station. The owners were blaring telemundo news in Spanish which isn't exactly a nice environmental ambience. Hearing Spanish political jargon mixed with DJTs name every tenth word is really not a dining atmosphere. The atmosphere here is non existent. The food is just okay but expensive and the... *sigh* *screaming bloody murder* FIRE DOORS ARE NOT ROCKET SCIENCE *breathes heavily* One door doesn't have a good closer and a damaged handle. There's clear evidence of a locking mechanism that is not approved fire egress hardware. The other door is simply locked from inside and has high chairs in front of it. Move your dang high chairs and make your place at least fire code compliant before you charge these premiums. Also, maybe used closed captions for that telemundo news broadcast maybe?! Some of us are trying to watch the Texas Rangers game! We don't care about hearing the news while we are trying to relax eat and maybe enjoy the ball game! You literally %}*]%ed up everything you possibly can about being a restaurant! Competitive prices. Hahahahaha FAIL let's get to the report card for this heap of fail. Environment 10/100 (fix the fire doors. Get better tables. This place is dangerously out of date) Bathrooms 100/100 (at least the toilets are clean! BECAUSE NOBODY USES THEM!!!) Staff friendliness 0/100 (this is fast food Mexican operations with zero respect for clients or peaceful atmospheres. The owner will literally just plop down on a customer chair and blare the TV during peak afternooners dining hour with the worst thing of all. News.) Wheelchair accessibility 50/100 large foyer and double doors navigable with assistance for those with walkers and wheelchairs. Otherwise not exactly a wheelchair accessible business. Not optimum but not a legal failure. Fire risk - FAIL/Referred to fire code enforcement (This restaurant has multiple hazards. Primarily blocked or inoperable fire doors.) Kitchen hazards and examination 90/100 the kitchen has minimal tile staining and some minor dirt spots correlating to a normal day or two of operation. The kitchen does not exhibit any serious hazards however could use more frequent cleanings and or a cosmetic makeover for better appearance. I feel a 3 star is an underrated rating here. I was hangry and looking at the place on yelp it looks like a true home cooked mexican food joint. Which is when your hungry would give you flavorful late lunch. I tried their Mexican sandwich with AlPastor. The meat was tender the sandwich was huge. Definitely one of the good ones. They gave me a side chips and salsa which added crunchiness to my meal. Overall I was in an out with a quick service. First time here tonight (5/11/2023). Took dinner "to go" coz mi familia was craving Mexican food. We had cheese quesadillas for the kids, fries, shrimp dinner (comes with rice and beans), and vegetarian burrito. Did not wait long for our food to be ready...and piping hot! Freshly-made food! Delicious! We all cleaned off our plates! See my photos for the menu. I totally forgot to take a photo of the food. We just inhaled it as soon as we got home. Ambiance-wise, it is a straightforward working man's restaurant. Not fancy, but clean. Don't expect this to be Chipotle or Don Julio's. This is your straight up Mexican restaurant with Mexican workers, and good/hearty Mexican food! I saw they had La Michoacana paletas in diff flavors. We will definitely come back and try those. There were more items in the menu we would like to go back and try. Another plus: They are open at 10:30AM & serve breakfast! Oh, and they offer catering! So we came to Senor Taco's on a recommendation from a pretty reputable taco-lover, and it was just okay. The prices were great: $2.50 for each taco is something no one can complain about. I got 3 tacos--chicken, steak, and spicy ribeye for meat--all with tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. The chicken and steak were good; everything you expect a taco to be. The ribeye is not recommendable though as the flavor just seemed off. It wasn't too spicy or anything, it just didn't feel like I was eating ribeye. The meat was a little too chewy, and it was so drenched in the sauce I really couldn't tell what was in there. The free chips and salsa was a nice surprise. The salsa was fresh and tasty but came as a very small portion, and the chips were not super fresh. Two of our party ordered the choriqueso (quest with chorizo) and it was just melted shredded cheese and a little chorizo. Not delectable looking, but they did say the flavors were good. All in all, I'd say to be fair I could come back and order a few other things. If I'm back, I'll definitely order the steak taco (not the ribeye) again as it was pretty good, and I'd probably try a quesadilla. read more

I LOVE this place! Crunchy tacos are amazing! Chipotle mayo and fish tacos so delicious. Shrimp tacos are excellent. Beef flautas are perfectly crunchy and well seasoned. Tostadas are good. My friends say the horchata is the best they've ever had. The refried beans are made from scratch. The best I've ever had! Chips and salsa, yum! They butcher their meat themselves. Seriously good food, great quality, can't go wrong. These guys remember you from visit to visit. Love this place! read more

Not a bad taco place in the Rolling Meadows. There are definitely better ones out there in the Chicagoland area, but that being said, living in Rolling Meadows, this is not a bad option. Prices have risen recently and I find the Taco price to be a little high for what you get. Because of this we only come here on Tuesdays when they have their Taco Tuesday special for 3 tacos and a drink. Steak is fairly consistent, but every once in a while it can be tough and fatty. I wish they had better Salsa, but it is serviceable. Their Red Sauce is pretty good, and definitely a needed addition to the steak taco to give it a more complete flavor. read more

The food is average at best and they pad the bill by charging me for a cup ice to go with the can of soda I paid for. Actually, I think they also charged me $1.00 for a glass of water too. I'm a little on the fence about rating this place, so I'll be safe and give 4 stars. The food was good, so you can't really fault them on food. For some reason I didn't really like this place. For 1, I didn't think they were really all that nice. Not every restaurant is going to give you exceptional service, but at least make the effort. It felt like they really didn't care whether I was there or not, so I guess I won't go back. The ambiance was pretty bad. Basically eat your food and leave... that's about it. Lastly, we went because we received a coupon for Taco Tuesday, which was 3 tacos and a drink for something close to $7. Seemed like a good deal, but there really wasn't much to it. Senor's is the place to go for cheap Mexican food made by Mexicans. It's a smaller place but they do have a wait staff. I'm on a mission to find someone who can make carne asada fries like they have in Cali. I asked them to make it but they used nacho cheese. Not good. I've been here twice, the first time was the Burrito Suizo and the steak was delicious and a little bit of mild sauce, was delicious. I added the avocado and it was marvelous. The side of chips and guacamole seemed like just a little bit (I was offered more, I just had to ask) but it was the perfect serving size. The second time I visited, I took my husband and both of us just had the regular burrito (mine was steak, his was chicken). According to my husband, who isn't one for too much heat- the chicken had just enough seasoning for a fabulous taste. We purchased the larger side of chips and guac, and again- it was just the right size. When I go back, I'm going to probably try something new, or go back to the burrito suizo. It just seemed to have the right combination. They season their meats where there isn't a lot of heat - that you can add later- but the taste is great! Side note- if you're not a coke fan, just go with a Jarrito or any of their other additions. It's delicious! read more

Just picked up an order to go. This was our first time trying señor tacos. The receipt is for $58.56. My debit card was charged $60.02. I called and spoke with the owner. He said it was a service for using the debit card. As far as the food, I ordered burrito macho. It was hard to tell what was what inside. All three meets were bland and blended together. It was wet with sour cream and refried beans, it fell apart and dripped all over the place. Meat was tough and fatty. This is 2020 almost everybody uses debit cards for everything these days. Charging me to buy your food is unacceptable. Won't be back. Now I have to go find a toothpick and dig the meat out of my teeth. read more
