Tacos w regular tortillas were amazing!! We tried the asada, Cecina, chorizo, chicken, chicharron. All excellent. Their salsa for the tacos also fresh and homemade and delicious! Quesobirria were good with home made tortillas. Consume was a little weak. I might try it next time w regular tortillas. I hope they have the mole next time so I can try the enchiladas. It has been two years since we first tried A Mi Manera. As I read over my old review, it became clear that the growing pains I mentioned were just that. They have improved dramatically since we were last there. First, the service was awesome. They have decorated so it has a nice ambiance. Their menu has also grown a lot. They still have about ten tables and appear to do a good takeout business. There were four of us and we ordered a few items. Their guacamole was excellent. I had their taco dinner - three tacos, beans, and rice. The portions were large and the food was delicious. Two in our party has Quesabirrias and one had Quecas. We also shared a horchata. It was all wonderful. I admit, everything was really good. And I'm very happy we gave them a second try. We'll be back soon. read more

I enjoyed my quesa birria with the handmade tortillas and the loaded nachos had very fresh tortilla chips. Lots of nice toppings. The interior is bright, colorful. However my experience was really hurt by waiting on my child's kids meal to come out way after my meal to where I was sitting there waiting and done with my meal. My toddler's meal came out piping hot. Piece of advice for every business restaurant make sure the kids meal comes out sooner than later even before the parents and make sure it's cooled down. They're not gonna eat piping hot food and burn the interior of their mouth. I ended up having to take it to go. read more

I liked this place! We came here one night to try it out and everything was tasty. I enjoyed my chicharron huarache! My sister got the birria ramen which she said was really good. My husband got the birria tacos which he also really liked. The restaurant itself is smaller, maybe 6 tables. As we were sitting there, you can tell they do more carry out orders than anything. Met a friend here for dinner last night and we had an excellent experience! The shrimp tacos were very tasty. Full of yummy shrimp and lots of flavor. The salsas are super flavorful and taste homemade. The chips could use a little bit of work, as they weren't consistent, but everything we had was delicious. Had the enchiladas... chicken with green sauce... delicious... rice was also good... BUT refried beans tasted like a mouthful of smoke.. I am not a smoker so those weren't good. This was the first time I've gone to this restaurant and my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. The food was so good that we ate almost all of it before we remembered to even take a photo. The sauces were amazing even their hottest sauce was delicious and anybody who says otherwise is wrong. The service was quick, courteous and the food came out very promptly hot and delicious. The restaurant had traditional music and was nice and calm allowing the overall experience and ambience to be nice. I have nothing negative I can say about this restaurant. I know there's a lot of different options out there to choose from. Do not let the small location or the outside stop you from trying this place because it is delicious and if you can't stop and eat and I recommend having it delivered. Pretty disappointed. I was looking forward to eating here when I heard they make their own tortillas. However, everything we ordered, were either super salty or not much meat. Their horchata also tasted like a store bought kind of horchatas :( Owner, pls take it easy with your salt. Even my son who normally likes his food a little salty had to spit out the steak from his tacos because it was too salty. It gave me a headache and didn't finish my food anymore. The staff was friendly and cute place but one of the most important things was unfortunately not met, the food :( not to mention prices are too expensive for the type of food you're getting. Awesome to see a new establishment in Palatine. Ordered food for pick up & was told 20 min but ended waiting 40 minutes. Quesabirria - broth was delicious a little salty but really tasty! Good meat portion only downside was they were a bit soggy but I was able to pop them in my air fryer to crisp them back up. Guac & Chips - chips were a little greasy but I loved how thin they were super crunchy & the guac was good but could be better if they added more tomato & onions Steak Burrito Place - burrito was huge! Very tasty! But next time I will get the burrito alone as the beans and rice were bland. The beans tasted like they were straight from a can. One of the items we ordered was out and the owner graciously refunded our money and substituted it for the most delicious tamales I have had in the Chicago area. Stopped by for lunch while my car was at Discount Tire, half a block away. I had checked Yelp for nearby places to have lunch while I waited for my car to be ready. Reading the excellent reviews, I decided that this would be the place to eat. I had pretty high expectations, and they were exceeded. New place, small, friendly, and delicious. I ordered from this restaurant on GrubHub. The restaurant called me told me that they couldn't make all of the food I ordered because the restaurant has the wrong prices listed. I'm pretty sure that you if you advertise the wrong price that you need to honor it. They need to sort themselves out. Avoid the hassle and go elsewhere. read more

Homemade everything! Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, food is delicious. Got a birria taco and a picaditas plate. My guy got a 3 taco plate and a small handmade quesadilla. They STUFF the tacos and quesadillas. Chips and salsa good. And they serve duros as a snack while you're waiting for the food. Very prompt service. Fantastic, not-your-regular-Mexican place. A rotating soup menu. At least 3 or 4 meals you haven't seen before if you're not Mexican. We have taken out twice and everything was fantastic.
