Good food! Forgot to put on our lunch order so waited 45 minutes Manager apologized but no decrease on total cost for in inconvenience. Will still recommend to friends and family read more

The atmosphere is fantastic. The food is great. The Margaritas are the best. But any restaurant that charges me $4 for some salad dressing (I didn't know if I would like the vinegarette it came with so I asked for ranch as well) is not for the consumer. They should at least warn people. They also never offer guests to enroll in their rewards program. I found it online and 5 individual friends who had dined there before had never heard of it although they were frequent diners. In 2 short months I made it into their "silver rewards program" but I don't know if I'll be back... read more

First time here. Okay food., But overpriced for Mexican food. Good friendly service, very fast. Probably won't return

Not impressed. First, my family and I were not greeted when we walked in. Our waitress was rude, and the food was definitely not something to remember. Worst tasting Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Do not recommend. read more

I've never been to this place... however after making a call speaking to the manager today I will never give them my business. I went online to book a reservation for SUNDAY May 19th for 20 people. (For my son's senior graduation) The website directed me to contact someone to book my reservation due to the number of guest. I then call and wait on hold for 25 minutes for the manager to tell me they do not take reservations on Sunday and they are willing to take mines however the tables are not promised together. My first issue is the website does not state no reservations on Sundays instead it directed me to call and waste 25 minutes of my time ON HOLD. My son is graduating do you think we would like tables away from one another... this place isn't that busy not to keep it professional or to make your website more accurate. read more

Best restaurant I ever took my mother for Mothers Day! She just loved it! Angel our server was fantastic! Can't wait to go back! Best Mexican food we ever had. read more

My wife and I went here last Saturday May 4, 2019. She had Fajitas with rice and beans and I ordered tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were not bad. My wife thought the Fajiata was awful. It came with only four small chicken strips that were chard black and fatty. The rice and beans were way off the mark. Rice was dry and beans were weird, not Mexican style but more like bean soup that had no flavor. We each had one Margarita. They costs $9.00, each and come in a 6 oz. glass with mostly Ice and tasted nasty. Then you get to do the credit card payment yourself. I selected "receipt requested" and never did get a receipt. The bill was nearly $70 for two bad drinks and two entree's that were not all that great. I guess the ambiance is nice but not really worth the price in my mind. read more

I've eaten in the restaurant once before and ordered takeout twice (once called in and once scheduled pick up with over an hour notice). The food is good and the servers are very nice. However, I stood waiting over a half hour after the scheduled pick up time for my takeout order both times. The kitchen was "backed up" despite putting in my order ahead of time with plenty of notice. Several people were waiting in the same position as I was-- one woman waited over 45 min for her one order of fajitas. Insane. read more

Oh my gosh, this place is right down the block from my place and it's absolutely delicious. From the drinks to the giant chocolate piñata they offer. The service is wonderful and everyone is always smiling when they leave because they are so fulfilled with the food. Definitely going to keep going here read more

The food I ordered was quite good except the guacamole. You will be screwed like I was. 90% of what was in the container was chopped lettuce. That is bullshit. I did mot look at my receipt, I just provided my credit card. But, I know I paid through the nose for that. I am also positive that the prices here are high. Other Mexican restaurants are better. read more

Amazing food, okay service. A bit pricy but its home made. My order was wrong but was quickly corrected. We will be back.

My husband and I have been looking for 13 years in Waukesha for a good Mexican restaurant, we have found nothing that even compares to the great food we had at Uncle Julio's. Joanna was our waitress and she made our first experience to the restaurant even better. Friendly, drinks came out quickly, always checking us without smothering us. Thank you Joanna and thank you to the owners for bringing a great Mexican restaurant near our city. read more

Atmosphere is nice. Huge menu. Did not care for their salsa. Not a place to visit after the meal as it is so crowded that they need the table. Felt rushed. read more

Poor service. I was waiting 20 minutes, during which time I asked several different wait staff to bus the table as I watched them continue to walk by. Finally the manager passed by and asked "if I need something." I responded "I need some service!" (after asking 5 different people) to which I was met with an attitude! I would have happily stayed had she responded politely. read more

The food is very consistent. The chicken fajitas are our favorite entree. The guacamole is good. The tortillas and chips are made from scratch and the best in the area. Service is always good and the restaurant is very clean. read more

The salmon fajitas were excellent. The grapefruit margaritas were very yummy but I feel that the restaurant in general is over priced. I will go back but not as often as I'd like due to the prices. read more

Great place for Tex-Mex This is my 3rd time going for a quick bite after shopping. My first time was mid January when I got back from Texas. I took my son and daughter in-law for a Sunday lunch. The service was very organized. It was packed but we didn't wait long at all. We got seated within 20 minutes. Our server came over, introduced himself and offered to take our beverage orders. He got them took off to retrieve them. He came back with our cocktails and an iced tea and waters. He asked if we were ready to order. We gave him our order and ate the chips and salsa which is delicious . Their tortilla chips are fresh and I believe homemade. We went through two baskets . We had the combo plate and fajitas for two. Chicken and beef with all the sides rice and beans. I ordered the sopapillas to-go. I could not eat another bite They disappeared about an hour later and OMG they were sooo good Service all around was good . Only thing that disappointed me was the flour tortillas were NOT homemade Second visit I ordered to-go. Again prompt and delicious. This was the evening of our polar vortex so the food was cool when I got it home. But nothing a microwave couldn't fix. Third visit was yesterday afternoon. I sat at the bar and started with a margarita on the rocks. Very good! Halfway through I ordered the beef fajita nachos and another margarita The nachos were served with guacamole and sour cream on some shredded lettuce. So good . Needless to say I left there happy each time. For now this is my go to place for good food, margaritas and service I do recommend Uncle Julio's read more

My husband and I decided to try this place on a Friday night, at 7:30 with no reservations. We were told about a 55 minute wait. Totally expected. We were pleasantly surprised when we were seated in about 20 minutes. Our waitress was attentive, and brought our drinks a Paloma and el Jefe margarita quickly. Both were excellent. The chips were thin, and yes kind of greasy, but fresh and well salted. The salsa was smokey and very mild. We had the queso and guacamole combo appetizer. Both were good. I had the enchilada and carne asada combo plate. It was great! The sauce was a little spicy and the sautéed poblano, onion, mushroom topping on the steak was nice. The meat itself was excellent. My husbands steak fajitas were good too, but the meat I had was way better. Overall we had a great dining experience, not at all put off by the price! read more

I stopped in for lunch. The place was packed at noon. It was a 30 minute wait time but was seated at the bar in 5 minutes. Chips and salsa was plentiful. Salsa is really good and spicy. I had the cheese enchiladas with the spicy sauce. It was delicious and generous with the amount of food on the plate. The person next to me had the steak fajitas and it looked amazing. She said hers was delicious as well. Overall pleased with the quality of the food and the price was very reasonable! read more

Just went for the first time and it was excellent. Our table had fish tacos, chicken fajitas and enchiladas all delicious. Margaritas are delicious. Mike was our waiter and he was great, best service. You'll enjoy this restaurant! read more

Wonderful, friendly service and fresh, homemade food. Was not sure how this would compare to other Mexican restaurants, but definitely exceeds what other local venues have to offer. Will definitely be back! read more

Good margaritas and very trendy layout. Food is just okay, very small menu and quite pricey.

Joanna our server was the BEST! Very prompt and kind. Helped maneuver us through the menu and shared some of her favorite dishes! She made our experience amazing! Thanks Joanna! read more

First visit to the Brookfield location. Even for a lunch the place was packed at 11:30 but we were given the option of the bar or dining area. Ordered tha cocktail of the day ,watermelon margarita which was Awesome!!! I ordered the taco salad and my daughter had the Enchiladas. Both dishes were prepared very well and even the side dishes were very tasty and not your standard Mexican rice and beans. I would like to see if the menu expands over time and I cannot wait to try the patio in the summer. read more

Decent Mexican food overall. The fajitas are fantastic. The queso in the guacamole and queso combination is terrible - if you're looking for Wisconsin queso you'll like it, but it's definitely not Mexican queso. Got flour tortillas when we ordered corn, so they're definitely working through some things. Overall pretty average, but the open kitchen is pretty cool and it seems like most of the ingredients are fresh. read more

Just went here for lunch on 12/27/18. Was told a twenty minute wait and after 45 minutes we got seated. Service was very fast, but then came the food. The soup was luke warm and the steak taco's had a lot of fat in them. Kinda disappointing for a new business. Don't know if I would make another trip here. read more

First time here and very good food. The mamacita nachos were very good. The server was awesome. They forgot to put my sauce on the side like I asked but they fixed it right away and the manager was very apologetic. Good place! read more

If i could give negative stars I would...I was on a date and two of my closest girlfriends showed up because they have never met him. They decided to crash the date. Megan the hostess was approached by them and she got them in around back and seated them directed behind us. She told them they were horrible girlfriends but it was funny . Not going to lie as soon as I saw them I laughed awkwardly and the guy invited them to join us because he was aware of what was happening. It wasn't a big deal it's a story I can tell, but to pour more salt in the wound she comped drinks for my two friends that intruted on my date and we paid full price. I'm sorry but seriously you sneak people in to intrude on me and then reward them. Fuck you Megan! read more

Worth the wait! We waitied an hour for a table and would have waited two. Amazing food and service. Great energy. Servers at bar and table were engaging. It was one of our favorite family dining experiences to date. read more

Started at the bar waiting for a table, ordered a $13 margarita , received a glass packed with ice and a terrible margarita in it. I'm guessing 5-6 sips to the drink. Ordered lunch , fish tacos which were sooo over cooked . Server asks how meal is explain its bad. No I'm sorry how can I make this better, just a " I guess you're done and would like your bill". All around a terribly disappointing experience . read more

Food is just OK. Chips and salsa were mediocre. The fajitas a pretty good.

Decided to try this despite many unfavorable reviews. Don't do it. Pick a taco truck, any taco truck - you'll get MUCH better food and a reasonable price. Not at Uncle Julio's. Waaaayyy overpriced entrees, weak drinks, overworked staff. Everything is over salted and spiced with liquid smoke. The staff runs around like crazy and yet doesn't seem to know what's going on - probably not their fault and more likely the result of incomplete or shoddy training. Again, turn back and save yourself from a sub-standard meal and a waste of money. read more

Good food, horrible prices. I get it, everything is fresh and made from scratch (not everything but you get it). Definitely good food, love the homemade items (delicious homemade tortillas). I had the Carne Asada, it was very good. Drinks are fresh and really good. Very good atmosphere. The thing is, there are many options for real and fresh at lower prices (hint: go downtown people). The service was great, bartenders are very friendly. It's always packed... I get it... it's Brookfield and this is the shiny new object in the room. The major objection aside from being overpriced that I have about this place... NO SPECIALS!! Yes, you read that right! I have travelled all over the world let alone US, and have never seen a Mexican restaurant without specials (it's part of the appeal IMO). So the only reason they get 3/5 is because they are overpriced and have zero specials. Would I go back, yes. But not often, and I certainly would not take groups or family there. Better options for the value. Try Bel Air for Taco Tuesday or Thursday. $2 gourmet tacos with free rice and beans, free chips & salsa, and $2 Mexican Beers or $5 margaritas. read more

Excellent service, great fresh food, and the atmosphere is always fun! Make sure to make your reservation online.

Food was ok. Margarita was overpriced. We had a party of 20 requiring separate checks which took over half an hour to do. Fancy tablet style folios that they didn't have enough of. How ridiculous. Any restaurant knows this is what you deal with when you take reservations for a party. If you don't have enough folios then go old school and hand out paper. Waiter with an attitude talked as if it was our problem not theirs. No problem any more we just won't go back. read more

Very mediocre. My husband enjoyed his simple steak (for $25, I would hope so). My enchiladas looked and tasted like some shredded Mexican cheese microwaved inside soggy corn tortillas. Their beans contain lard. No draft beer. There is much better Mexican food (for less $$) nearby if that's what you're looking for (try Hector's or Belair in Tosa). read more

We just finished an AMAZING meal at the Brookfield location. From the Patron Skinny Margaritas to the chocolate piñata full of fresh fruit and crispy churros, the food, atmosphere, and service was superb! The tableside guac is so fresh and the fajitas are DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend and so happy to have this spot in Brookfield now open :) read more

Decor was nice, although all the natural gas lights outside burning in the freezing cold seemed like a huge waste of energy. We made on-line 7:15 reservations on a Sunday evening and were seated right away while a big line waited for for openings. We found open tables around us and wondered why there was still a line, especially when one table for 4 was never used. Service was alright but nothing special. The commercials speak proudly of the wonderful salsa that they make by hand in the restaurant... but if I had not seen the commercials, I would have thought it was from a five gallon bucket... watery not very much. We asked for more salsa as there were still more chips (very thin) and the second batch was the same, so it was not like we got the bottom of the bowl the first time. Presentation of food was OK. My enchiladas did not have much sauce on them. The order came with rice an beans.. and the beans were like chill beans in a small cup and not the refried like I expected. I did not like the flavor. The Spanish rice must have been cooked hours earlier as it was very dry and flavorless. The enchiladas were not anything great either... again, lacking enough sauce and seemed like something else was missing... taste. I will be the first to admit, I do NOT do well with a lot of spices, esp. hot ones and this was bland to me, so I can imagine what a more spice loving man would think. Our table was close to the kitchen door and during the hour we were seated, there were three large crashes of plates or other things breaking. The staff when not busy tends to hover outside the wide doorway to the kitchen and chat... also not a great thing. Husband says he would go back w friends to give it a second chance read more

Saw this opening up and wanted to try this. Got a reservation for NYE and was seating promptly at my reservation time. Great decor and layout but that's about it for this restaurant. The patio looks greats for summer use but not sure if this place will make it until then. Highly expensive for the quality of food and portion size. Chips were paper thin and greasy with no taste. Salsa was luke warm and watery with a nasty smoky flavor. Margs were way over priced for the size with no booze, went down like water. Basically like drinking an overpriced cup of limeade. My wife ordered enchiladas and was very disappointed with them. Little to no flavor and very small. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, the portion size was disappointing. Only could make 2 of the 4 tortilla's given. The picture shown in this yelp page is not what you will get. I probably only got 3 stripes of chicken and 3 stripes of steak. The rice was very dry and tasteless. Tortillas are made fresh and you can tell, half were really good and half smelled like uncooked dough and felt like watery dough. The pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, and cheese given with the fajitas were extremely small portions. The cheese was melted due to the hot plate and unusable. My wife's co-worker warned us before we went and boy was she right. Don't think we will be back due to better tasting, bigger portions, stronger margs and reasonable priced Mexican restaurants around. read more

It's the new place so we had to try it! Atmosphere is great inside. Service was alright. The options of margaritas were great, but the prices....outrageous. The margaritas were served to the brim with ice so I think I got three sips out of one glass and it was $14 for the margarita! The next margarita was served in a tumbler so maybe you got a little more in the glass but it was still $13! Would be nice to have a pitcher option. While the service and atmosphere were nice, paying that much for margaritas with little alcohol in it is absurd. Then the platter of just 3 street tacos was expensive! Two people to eat there each having a lower priced entree and 4 basic small margaritas was $96 before tip!!! My friend and I commented we hope they adjust their pricing or this place won't last! Too many choices and great Mexican restaurants within the area for people to continue to pay that much for what you get (good service or not). read more
