Mushroom tacos with refried beans

Service was excellent and super friendly. There is outdoor and indoor seating with space for larger groups. Food was as expected and consistent.

Came in for a quick lunch and the service was quick and the food from the lunch menu was cooked piping hot, although lacked flavor from my perspective.

Food was absolutely delicious. Service was kind of slow considering they didn't have a lot of tables when we first showed up however, the atmosphere itself was great and the food was so amazing. It didn't even matter.

Taco salad with cold shredded chicken

Changes to the menu (and potentially management change) recently are not an improvement. This used to be our favorite Mexican place in Loudoun but it has gone downhill Fast. Nachos: they used to have awesome nachos individually made with refried beans, shredded cheese and chicken or steak. Now they are an unappetizing mess on blue chips, barely any toppings and even the server acknowledged they changed and softly said she hoped we liked them knowing they looked awful. Menu: many items were removed, we will miss the dorado tacos and the old beef enchiladas with great cheese sauce not the red sauce. Taco salad pictured here was ok but chicken was ice cold, they used to serve it with nice warm chicken. This place has lost the love a bit Cost: They used to have great lunch specials which seem to be gone. Lunch for two (tacos, taco salad, nachos and sodas were $80+ after tip) Service: Our server was a very nice person but the kitchen was incredibly slow at noon with barely anyone in restaurant it took 40+ minutes to get our food. So disappointed this place used to be amazing Fresh tortillas: this place used to have epic fresh tortillas. They still make them but they were thicker, kind of raw in the inside and burnt on the outside. Will start looking for a new Loudoun Mexican place - Mancha in Leesburg is great and may check out Parrandos again instead

The piñata will forever be my fav part of the uncle Julio's experience. The tortillas used to be very delicious knowing that they were made in house but it seems like they have stopping doing that cause they taste very bland and taste store bought. I ordered the guacamole as well and there was no flavor to it. There wasn't salt and pepper either to add on the table. The enchiladas were okay but I wish I had ordered something else. I did enjoy the red salsa given with the chips.

We had a reservation for 6 pm Friday and thought it would not be too crowded. But it was Our server was great throughout but did not have his name. Ordered table avocado which was super. We ordered crab stuffed Shimp and wished we ordered 2 more. Came with rice and beans and we requested an extra plate which was provided. Nice evening in the outside .

Table side guacamole with fresh avocado, tomato, lemon, salt, and cilantro

Saw this place randomly while walking in the area. It was very busy but I was told that I could sit at the bar or the high tops if I wanted to instead of waiting 15 mins. I sat for a bit looking at the menu and waiting for my husband to join me. They were understaffed and only had one waiter for the entire bar area plus the booths, high tops and tables. Apparently they had been waiting on a few servers who were stuck in traffic. Despite this the server greeted me warmly and assured that he would be back to give us our free chips and salsa. It was our first time there so we didn't mind having some time to look at the menu. He came back and we ordered our food, and to my surprise it came out in less than 10 mins. Our waiter said he had made sure to inform the kitchen to time it perfectly. We had the table side guacamole which was pretty good, but a bit expensive for $16, considering the same thing gets done in the kitchen but I didn't want onions so we decided on this version. There is a house guac about $9-$12 (depending on size) pre made in the kitchen if you don't mind all the ingredients. This was definitely tasty and fresh and you could tell they care about quality. Despite a slight mix up from the kitchen (at no fault to our waiter at all), the timing was impeccable. By the time we were served the guacamole our meals had come out of the kitchen. I ordered a mix and match enchiladas meal with one cheese and one ground beef enchilada with tomatillo verde sauce instead of the red sauce it normally comes with. It came with a side of Spanish rice and some extra pico de gallo. The ground beef was decently seasoned, the cheese pull on point, and the tomatillo sauce fresh and tasty. They use corn tortillas, and fresh veggies for the pico. My husband had the pulled chicken bowl, which was fresh, but he mentioned the mixture of ingredients was a bit odd; however someone else might love the combo. Overall the ambiance was a bit loud due to the amount of people, but the food was better than any other Mexican restaurant in the DMV area (I had been disappointed up to this point with the selections of Tex mex restaurants in this area, as I'm used to amazing food in South FL). The service was amazing! Our server was kind, funny and entertaining as well as had a wonderfully positive attitude. He made sure our food was perfect and delivered quickly, even though he was the only one working in that entire section of the restaurant. We will definitely be coming back!

Came one Sunday afternoon to grab a quick bite. I sat at the bar and the lady took a minute to say anything to me, hand me menu, take my order or give me my complementary chips and salsa. It was a snowball because of the delays in handing me a menu, coming back to take my order and the kitchen to make it. I was getting really hangry, and I was hoping the chips and salsa would tide me over until my food came. It didn't help that a couple sat a couple seats down from me at the bar, and they were immediately greeted, given menus and chips and salsa. I was given chips and salsa only after I asked. I also had to wait a couple times to get my drink refilled. The food was pretty good: I got the El Dorado Tacos (3). I really enjoyed it. The shells were crunchy enough and the fillings were good portion-wise.

On this visit, I went with the tacos and was thoroughly impressed. My wife typically orders the parrillada (which is excellent and a staple for us), but I decided to switch it up--and I'm glad I did. The flavors were well-balanced, and the quality held up to what we've come to expect here. The chips and salsa are a must every time. The chips come out fresh, and the salsa stands out--bold, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It's one of those small details that separates a good experience from a great one. The atmosphere is another strong point. It's lively, family-friendly, and full of energy without feeling chaotic. You'll see families enjoying themselves, and it creates a relaxed, welcoming environment. If you happen to visit on a day they have live mariachi, it adds an extra layer to the experience. Parrandos continues to deliver where it matters most--quality food, consistent service, and an environment that keeps you coming back. Definitely a go-to spot for us. Yelp Elite Reviewer

I rate restaurants within their category and concept. I am not comparing a neighborhood Mexican…read morerestaurant to a Michelin star fine dining experience. If a place delivers quality food, represents its cuisine well, and exceeds expectations for its setting, that earns a high rating from me. We recently visited Casa De Avila in Leesburg, and I have to start with the horchata because it was truly the star of the meal. I am of Mexican heritage, my mom is Mexican, and I grew up drinking homemade horchata. This one tasted just like it should. It was creamy, clearly made with milk and condensed milk, with that soft sweetness and a gentle hint of cinnamon. It honestly tasted homemade, and that alone made me smile. Now, it is hard for me personally to give most Mexican restaurants 5 stars, and that has more to do with my background than the restaurant itself. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up eating incredible home cooking from my mom, who is an amazing cook. That naturally shapes my expectations. In the DMV area, it has been tough to find truly authentic Mexican flavors. With the exception of La Jarochita, and Mancha Cocina Mexicana, which is more elevated but very well done, good Mexican food can be hard to come by here. All that said, Casa De Avila serves very good food and is probably the best I have found in this category locally. The sopes were made fresh, which makes a huge difference in both flavor and texture. The tacos were solid overall. The asada was very good, well seasoned and flavorful. The al pastor was good, but it did not quite have that deep, traditional flavor you get from proper trompo style preparation. The esquites were also tasty, and the kids loved that they added hot Cheetos. That is a trend we saw in Los Angeles years ago, so it felt fun and nostalgic to see it here. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be about the salsa. The salsa served tasted more like a bottled style Mexican salsa. I would love to see a true house made salsa roja or salsa verde, the kind where you char the tomatoes, tomatillos, chiles, and onions before blending. That deep roasted flavor is such a big part of authentic Mexican cooking and would elevate the whole experience even more. The service was amazing from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the staff really helped make the experience even better. Overall, Casa De Avila is doing a lot right. The food is flavorful, the horchata is exceptional, and it stands out in an area where good Mexican food is not easy to find. While my personal background makes me a tough critic, this is still a place I would happily return to. A solid 4 stars.
