Came here to try out this new Chinese restaurant. They just open recently. Lunch menu offers a varieties of entrees. It comes with soup, egg roll, rice and a choice of entrees. $11.75 to $13.75. 7 days a week during lunch. Food; Beef roll 5/5 the beef was tender and paired well with the green onion pancake wrap. Shrimp egg roll. 5/5 filled with flavorful shrimp paste. Stir Fried green beans 5/5 I really enjoyed the green beans. They were tender but still had a nice crunch, and the seasoning brought out their natural flavor. Dan dan noodles 5/5 it was bold, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Every bite was delicious. Aromatic prawns 5/5 I loved the aromatic shrimp! They had an amazing aroma and were bursting with flavor--definitely a highlight of the meal. Friendly service. Beautiful and clean interior. Plenty of parking in the lot. We will definitely come back again to try their other menu items.

They just recently opened so my family and I decided to try this place for dinner. The decor inside is nice, simple and clean and service was prompt. However, the food seemed Americanized and was either too salty or lacked depth of flavor. We ordered the beef noodle soup, their Chef's special "slippery aromatic prawns" which was coated in a basic sweet and sour sauce, their sauteed green beans, and fried potstickers appetizer. The wok hei technique was there for the green beans, but the sauce was overpoweringly salty. The beef noodle soup had tender slices of beef, but the noodles were slightly overcooked and the broth tasted somewhat bland. The sweet and sour sauce for the shrimp dish was overly sweet. Potstickers had a decent filling but the wrapper lacked the right structure and chew - it fell apart from barely picking it up with chopsticks. Uncle Chen's is newly opened so maybe there's opportunity to improve, but after our experience, unfortunately I am not sure it would warrant a return visit from my family.

    Bland Cashew chicken

I was debating on giving this restaurant 3 stars to be nice, but I would rather be honest. This place just needs to be better. The pork fried rice was the only dish that was good, not Fantastic, but good. This is Family style so you have to order full size dishes in order to try different items. That's too bad if you are single or dinning as a couple so heads up. We ordered 3 dishes, tab came out to a little over $50.00 The Cashew chicken was just chicken, cashews and lots of white onions and garlic and that's all! It was served in what I would describe as a white garlic sauce. The chicken was almost translucent white and bland and the dish had no other vegatables. Usually Cashew chicken is in a brown sauce with at least some other veggies besides onions and has lost of flavor, but sadly not this version. Service was good at first but the server who recomeded the Cashew chicken never asked how we liked it, in fact he never came back to our table once he took our order. This place was not very busy for a weekend peak dinner hour so not sure if that's a sign but if they are going to make it work they need to have more variety and tastier dishes on the menu. The lunch specials look a little better, IF and tha's a BIG IF, we do return it would be for Lunch, but not dinner. Not sure how long this place has been open so maybe it's just experiencing growing pains with thier chef?

friendly staff spacious and beautifully decorated. authentic King Pao Chicken with just the right amount of seasoning and spicyness. crispy and crunch peanuts only possible with fresh ingredients. highly recommend

Came here today for lunch and it was packed with customers. We tried the shrimp fried rice, cucumber salad and the Aromatic Prawns. The fried rice was delicious and full of flavor. The ingredients were fresh, and everything was cooked just right The prawns dish was packed with flavor, and the texture was perfect. It's the kind of dish that keeps you coming back for more. The cucumber salad was fresh and refreshing, with a nice crunch and a well-balanced dressing that wasn't overpowering. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was really impressed by how beautiful and comfortable the interior felt. Easy parking.

Uncle Chen's is a fantastic Chinese restaurant. It is the new and much improved for what was called Fortune Cookie restaurant. Dishes are authentic and tasty. Very reasonably priced. The inside is all redecorated and service is lovely. It is definitely going to be on our roster!

Just opened ! We've been back 4x we can't stop coming here the vegetables so fresh and the meat is top notch it' might be Taiwanese idk but that won ton soup is AUTHENTIC. That broth so nourishing I felt so good after. Lunch specials really reasonable and the service really cool they are so friendly we are enjoying getting to know them. The sauces on the food don't taste the same it's not super salty or over sauced. If you want great looking shrimp too it's HERE!

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. (#2) At $15-19 for most dishes. (#3) Did we get lucky?

Overall: good food, fresh ingredients, and great flavors. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

The food comes out quick and it may not be a Michelin star worthy food but it's definitely a comfort food for a lot of people. Their black bean noodles are a staple but I also recommend the spicy shrimp, sweet n sour pork, and sizzling rice soup. Their jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is just ok.. Service is great because I think the servers recognize my family but speaking Korean also helps. Unfortunately, I have witnessed some of the servers being kind of rude to other patrons. The servers are just always in a rush. But I always find myself going back whenever we have a big group. Don't expect a nice, clean, modern ambiance. The carpets old, decor is questionable, and sometimes there's a weird smell. But I will continue to go here.
