So I met some friends after work for happy hour. They have great specials on their tap beer and rail drinks. We had cheese curds that were obviously made from scratch. Puffy and light, crispy exterior and you get a lot for your money. Also had the fish fry which was out of this world. Crispy exterior, flavorful batter with a hint of spice. I recommend getting the roasted carrots. They are fresh grilled and have a buttery Smokey flavor. My wife had the Carnitas. Slow roasted pork shoulder with a Verdi Salsa with flavor. Dang. This place just topped off our night perfectly. To start, the place was very busy but our server was kind and attentive as can be. I feel like that is just as important as the food is. My wife and I stopped in before the Michael Buble concert and tried this featured item. We wanted something light. Bakes tomato and cheese panini and the House citrus Turkey Melt. Outstanding! Also tried one of their 30 craft beers on tap while my wife had a Moscow Mule. They have 3 floors and a stellar rooftop bar with 360 degree views of the city. The bar tender failed to acknowledge us when walking in and was visibly upset we sat where they had their phone and iPad laid out. She proceeded to tell us she was closing and we would need to close our tab a few minutes into our stay, which is understandable, the place was dead, probably because of her. This is an excellent place to get dinner and drinks. Also the management is awesome. I was on the rooftop bar of Uncle Bucks with my friends and dropped my wedding ring and it went through the gap in the wood boards of the rooftop floor (which is about an 8 foot drop). I called Uncle Bucks the next day to tell them what happened. They said they would look for it and get back to me. They called me later that day and said they could see my wedding ring but since it was 8 feet down, they would need to get the right tools to be able to reach it. They were able to find it and ship it to me since I am out of town and was just visiting friends that weekend. I appreciate Michael and team on never giving up on a task that they didn't need to do but they did so anyway!! Hi, This is Dominic the food reviewer. On Tuesday I tried Uncle Bucks on Third. It is located on 1125 N. Old World 3rd St. Milwaukee, WI. 53203. Uncle Buck's is a pub, restaurant, and bar. It opened in 2019. It is named Uncle Bucks because the owner loves the movie Uncle Buck and it's located in the deer district. The ambiance is a modern north-woods theme, and it is a very comfortable place to hang out, or have some food. They have a small gaming area with arcade games such as ski ball, and more. They also have a roof top bar that has a fireplace that you can sit at night time and you can look down and see the view of Milwaukee from there. When you walk up the stairs to get to the roof top they have funny sayings and very unique murals to check out if you are there. All the taxidermy in Uncle Bucks was donated by Don Rich. I got to meet the General Manager Lawrence and Chef Bo. Chef Bo told me he went to culinary school in 2014 and he has worked at some fine dining restaurants like the American Club in Kohler and for the Bartalotta's restaurants also. I really enjoyed getting to talk to Lawrence, and Chef Bo. Bo told me some of the most popular dishes are the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the cheese curds. For appetizers, my Dad and I got to try their cheese curds with fries and sour cream dipping sauce. Their cheese curds have cheese from Clock Shadow Creamery. I also tried their Duck Pinsa which has cherry chutney, tomato oil, fontina, duck bacon, roasted fennel, cartelized onions and local pinsa romana. We thought our appetizers were delicious. For my main meal I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich which had Nashville hot oil, pimento cheese, honey dill slaw and a side of pickles. For my main side I got the beet salad. I thought my whole meal was very fantastic, outstanding and I thought the Nashville hot chicken sandwich had just the right amount of kick to it. My Dad tried the mac and cheese with chicken. He absolutely thought it was very creamy, enjoyable and awesome. Our servers Jay and Tana were very kind, helpful and phenomenal too. I would highly recommend checking this restaurant out because right in the deer district and a very fun place to hang out. read more

The mid west decor and the fun wall paper make it an amazing atmosphere to grab a drink with friends as well as eat some great food! Definitely try the pork belly burnt ends they were delicious! The service was impeccable and the staff is very friendly and welcoming! Definitely check out the beer on tap they are all numbered so it makes ordering very easy and simple! We went up to red star after food and a beer and were completely in love with the roof top! The fire was plenty warm to keep you cozy while hanging out outside! I am giving a review for an account I witnessed on 2/08/2020 at around 530pm. Please read later half for owners's responses. **TLDR: charged customer for drinks, didn't give full pours. Customer tells friends in private conversation bar kicks customer out for expressing his feeling to friends. OWNER tries to cover it up, but we got proof. It's not a threat it's the truth and uncle bucks messed up.** Refer to Jill H's review and Nathan P's reviews. Management responds to customers blaming customers not taking accountability. It's a theme in the management responses. Both talk about negative experiences 2 days apart. Uncle bucks decided they wanted to excercise their right to refuse service, but later with manager permission allow the service of shots to Nathan. He was then served less than a full shot for each pour (see his review for photo evidence), and charged full price. The manager gave many excuses as to why they poured Nathan non-full shots while their same bartender served others full shots. Other patrons in the area were onlooking and commented that they are bartenders and that uncle bucks was NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING. They were purposely charging a customer full price but not giving 100% product. The manager did not like Nathan expressing his frustrations with friends at uncle bucks about the poor service. He kicked Nathan out for expressing his feelings in PRIVATE conversation. This brings me to the owner. Appalling. He has changed his comments in response to Nathan a few times. I've reported it to yelp. Michael claimed the occurrence happened after 7pm but it happened much earlier. We have email of the intial comment so we have PROOF he changed his response for his benefit to look good on yelp. He also seemed to take offense that Nathan will not bring back his colleagues (we were basically all their business at the time this happened). Second, he defends his staff that took advantage of a SOBER customer. Owner's response said he owns other Marquette affiliated bars. We now know where also to not go. Edit:spelling. The best feature of this restaurant is the menu, which had a lot of good 'sounding' food. The service was adequate. The curds were good, though they add fries on the bottom to make it look like there's more in the basket. The drinks were very weak, to the point I regret not sending it back. The worst part was the burger, with it's '3 meat blend' and interesting toppings was....bad. My chard black burger was ordered medium rare, though no amount of red or pink existed. All I tasted was the flavor of a grill. I've had more flavor from a frozen patty. The toppings lacked flavor too and there was no texture. This is a bad burger, in design and preparation. The fries looked like rejects from the bottom of a fryer. You have to almost deliberately look for that many short stubby burnt fries to fill a plate. I cannot recommend this place. read more

I went to Uncle Bucks on a Saturday night with my friends. Such a cool transformation from The last venue. My group tried the wings, cheese curds, pork tacos, the salad with chicken, and the hot chicken sandwich. I highly recommend the hot chicken and the cheese curds. Very high quality casual food for before the game or everyday. I recommend the house burger as well, there are multiple choices and they are all delicious. The middle floor has a gorgeous view and the upstairs patio is dressed up and has an intimate feel that really stands out. With such a cool new space, this place is good for all groups. I'm a 20 year licensed bartender who decided to step out with some friends and family this evening. Not sure if my dark skin was intimidating to this fair skinned bartender, if she was having a not so good night, or if she was offended that I asked her to remake a Long Island that was bought for and brought to me by someone else. 100% of the time I can smell a drink a tell what is in it. This one smelled and tasted like nothing but mixer. I then went to the bar, greeted the bartender with a smile, then asked her if she was the one who made my drink because there was a male bartender as well. She confirmed. I then asked her what she put in it, she told me, the ingredients for a Long Island. I then asked her if she could remake the drink so I could watch how she made it. She did with an attitude. I noticed she put about 1oz of the different liquors combined. There goes the problem.... I asked her if she could "top it off", assuming she felt like the pours were accurate. She said "if you want to pay for it". I told her no, I'd rather the money back. Her attitude escalated, she picked up her phone sent a text and said her manager would be up to refund my money. I said ok. I waited patiently for the manager, upon his arrival w/security, she spoke something in his ear, then security walked over to me and told me that the bartender said I cursed her out and I had to leave. She flat out lied. ‍ Why? I explained what really happened to security as well as the manager. The manager listened but made zero eye contact with me the entire time and ended up walking away before I could finish telling him the truth of the matter. I'm a business owner/manager as well and would never treat my customers how they treated me tonight. This wasn't my first night here but will definitely be my last. read more

She then starters to yell at all of us to "get out of her fucking face" , ok how do we show you our IDs and get out of your fucking face? She started to scream at my friends who were waiting behind me to show theirs IDs. So we honestly we weren't sure what to do. She kept yelling and we showed her our IDs and she let us in, with maximum harassment. I don't understand why she was so mad, but it ruined our whole experience. Do not come here.
