Hands down, this is STILL the greatest Korean and Poke fusion spot in ATL proper in my opinion. What a gem for this area. The service is friendly and genuine -- you can tell these folks like what they do. And you can taste it in the food. There are Koreans in the kitchen and that is also deliciously obvious!!! These bowls are just so chonky... you really get your money's worth. Now I've ordered from here many times without issue, but they happened to forget one of our proteins in both poke bowls on my most recent visit. Thank God we decided to sit in on their quaint patio as the evening was beautiful, and luckily we caught the mistake. But there truly wasn't an issue at all -- the nice lady working the front was so embarrassed about it and made sure to DOUBLE the already huge portion. Wowieeee it was sooo good. I had the other half left for the inevitable future attack of munchies. I also had the tteokbokki and Thai Tea. I wish we ordered more of the rice cakes; they were INHALED. Great appetizer portion for two. It was just the right balance of sticky, sweet, spicy, and savory on the most deliciously plump morsels. I also enjoyed the Thai tea although it was clearly made with a powder -- I asked for the least amount of sweetness and they delivered though! You can choose almond milk for no extra charge too. The boba wasn't spectacular but at least it was built into the price. The location can be a bit difficult to get to. It's in between Mellow Mushroom and Starbucks in the infamously packed Trader Joe's plaza across from Piedmont (and adjacent to the beltline). We happened to visit during the Shaky Knees festival. Delicious, local Korean casual restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. I ordered the spicy chicken bowl with brown rice and gochujang sauce and it was tasty. The stir-fry vegetables were warm and there was a large portion amount of protein. That's what differentiates it from the bibimbap. The staff member at the front was very kind, greeted me when I came in and the food was prepared in less than 10 minutes. The $20 for a single bowl caught me off guard for a casual restaurant, thinking about competitors like Gusto, and Cava. Enjoy! read more

I need to preface - I think Umma is the best Poke in Atlanta. And normally, the fish is SO FRESH!! However, today, 9/11/2026, I got a DoorDash tuna bowl from there, and I got at least 5 ahi cubes with stringy tendons. If this were my first time going, im not sure if I would pay another visit. Normally, Umma is fantastic. Besides foodland in Hawaii, this is some of the best poke I've ever had. I will of course be going back, and hopefully reverting my review back to 5 stars, but I also wanted the people at Umma to be made aware of the situation. If I was reviewing just the drinks alone, I would have given it 1 star. The matcha flavor was not there at all and it had a really strong milky cheesy flavor to it. The thai tea tasted better in general, but still didn't taste like Thai tea. However, the food itself was pretty good! The crunchy chicken was so juicy and crispy and flavorful. And all of the bowls had so many different options and were so filling. Especially for the price! Umma kitchen is a nice place, close to pidemont park. Its a similar concept like chipotle except its Korean. You choose your base, protein and toppings. You order on the ipad which are attached to table and pickup the food at counter once ready (Payment at the counter). The portions are huge and food is made to the order. There are few condiments at the counter where you pick up the food. Water, barley tea are free and there are several drinks avaliable for purchase. Plenty of parking as its part of the shopping complex. Prices are 15$ to 18$ per bowl. read more

We ordered a variety of things and everything was very tasty with a huge portion. I like the idea you can customize your bowls from ingredient to sauce. Bulgogi with glass noodles were fantastic. They were also very careful to accommodate food allergies. Rice cake side dish was a surprise. The outside was crispy and the inside were gooey. I also like the sweet and spicy sauce. I'm a lover of all things poke bowl and decided to check out Umma which is relatively new. Such a cute and aesthetic restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. You order via the many tablets around the restaurant and then pay at the register. I ordered a medium poke bowl which to my surprise came with three proteins because most places do like 2 for medium. As you can see, my bowl was filled to the brim and they did not skimp out on toppings or protein. Super delicious and came out very fast. I opted to get the sweet chili sauce--I'm normally an eel sauce girl but they didn't have that here--and it was a nice replacement. Overall, great poke spot! Went to the UPS Store nextdoor to Umma Kitchen and decided to pop in since they changed the name. Was some of the freshest and tastiest food I've had in a very long time, with a particular WOW to the sweet-potato noodles. all the toppings are great as well, along with friendly and fast service. As is critically important in fast-casual grab-and-go, the restaurant itself was very clean and vibrant. Kind of a hidden gem in Midtown if I'm honest, and can't wait to go back! ps: the meal lasted me for two days and tasted even better the next day. highly recommended! read more

I've tried all the bibimbaps (spicy chicken, bulgogi, teryaki --- fav is bulgolgi) except tofu --- all are very flavorful and filling! Simple to customize ingredients and flavors/sauces thru their tablet on each table --- it's mostly self-service and you pickup the food at the counter when they call you. There is also human-human interaction/ordering available :) For side, I've tried DUKKBOKKI - light spicy, yummy! I really love their free water and free barley tea...hot so be careful. They've added ice-cream bars and also have option of cooking ramen....not tried it yet. I've always sat inside, usually not loud/quiet and plenty of seats. They do have a cute outdoor area. Sad to share a bad review of this place; however, and specially in the food industry, costumer service plays a huge role. I wanted to order at the cashier (empty at that time) and I was sent to a table to place my order from the tablet; we were a table of 5; my friends orders starting to come through, mine wasn't; all my friends had their food, and after 25 min waiting I realized that my order was lost; went to the cashier and I was sent back to my table to "wait" and then a server arrived with a sample of a sauce; still no food. I tried to again explain that my order was never delivered and again, there wasn't any type of resolution, just to be sent back to the line and wait. At this moment the only assistance I received was from a server that kindly ask me to order again and she offered to help me. Food was average, the poke bowl tasted average and similar to other places with the same concept. I won't be back to this location. read more

We order from Umma Kitchen at least once a month--sometimes twice! These bowls are such a delicious, modern take on casual Korean food. I'm Korean and sometimes just need that Korean food fix, but driving to Buford Highway isn't always convenient. Umma totally hits the spot. I always get the spicy tofu K-BBQ bowl and sub the rice for my favorite--glass noodles, like the kind in japchae. It's seriously an 11/10. And don't even get me started on the crunchy chicken--WOW. If they ever made a bowl with that, I'd be all over it. I like to call Umma Kitchen the "Cava of Korean food," and I mean that as the highest compliment. Love this place for a quick healthy meal! An introverts paradise! You can order at the kiosk without talking to a single soul, or order at the counter if you're feeling social ;). It is super casual and they even have instant ramen you can purchase and make there like in Asia. If you order at the kiosk, they will call out your order when it's ready and you will pay at the counter when you get the order. I have gotten the bibimbap and poke bowl before and it is a ton of food! The bibimbap can last several meals for me and the poke is so fresh and delicious it doesn't make it to a second meal! New place that opened in place of one of my favorite poke spots in Atlanta. I am glad to report it is still the same amazing poke, with so much more now! Prices are about the same, and now they offer Korean bibimbap bowls as well as other Korean dishes. Can self-order at individual tablets on numbered tables, and they call out your order by table number. Very convenient! Poke was amazing, and portions are standard. There is a even a free water station with a high quality water filter machine, as well as a scoop to add ice! They offer boba, but the boba is quite disappointing. The flavors of the thai tea and brown sugar boba are not quite right, and the tapioca pearls are not the best I've had. I absolutely love the ambiance of the restaurant, they play light jazzy piano, and there is a homey and cozy atmosphere. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitively be coming back often! read more

Randomly discovered this place as I was searching for a healthy lunch option. Since I love poke bowls, I knew this would satisfy me, and it did not disappoint! LOCATED BEHIND STARBUCKS (because the map will drop you at Trader Joe's) is this really fantastic little place. Came right off the beltline for poke bowls and was pleasantly surprised in every way! You know when you play jazz videos off YouTube to keep the intrusive thoughts out of your brain? Well they're playing it! It's clean, the bathroom was SPOTLESS. You don't have to talk to anyone to order (although they are incredibly kind and nice), there are IPads at the table to order from. The free hot barley tea is my new obsession this fall. I could not believe my eyes that they were playing ESPN8 The Ocho, which is my favorite channel ever. The food was out of this world, big portions and fresh ingredients.
