Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was amazing--fresh food and top-tier service. Highly recommend!
Denise W.

Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was absolutely top-tier--fresh, flavorful, and executed with excellence. The service? Next-level amazing. If you're looking for quality food and standout customer care, this spot is a must-visit.

This is a newish restaurant in our area, and honestly.. I was a little skeptical at first. However, I'm glad I stopped by to try it out. Originally y got the 'steak' teriyaki bowl... (but I got the chicken instead). It was really good, tender and juicy. Since then, I've been back a couple of times to try different menu items, and they all have been great. The place is small inside, but most people come take it to go, so there's no issues within finding seats. The staff has been extremely nice and always helpful. This has become one of my go-to's in Decatur. And if you know Decatur... you know we have many different options. This is definitely a great option!

Pick Two Protein Bowl- Large Size Only-chicken breast and salmon teriyaki
Janet W.

Son and I came for a Monday dinner. Most people were carrying out, so we were the only ones in the nine table dining area which was really clean. We ordered the pick two protein bowl, chicken breast teriyaki and salmon teriyaki with white rice and veggies. There are three bowl sizes. The food is made fresh to order and it was enjoyed by both of us! Bring in your parking pass from the attached parking deck so you can get a sticker for free parking to put on it. You can enter the parking deck either from Claremont Ave just south of the store or on Commerce Dr where the Bank of America is located. We will definitely be back for a healthy post workout meal!

Super yummmmm. Very flexible, and coached me thru a change I wanted and how to best make that happen. It took a little time, but sooo well worth it !

Saturday evening, the parking was full behind the restaurant so I dropped off the family and parked at my gym a block down the street. We started with the bang bang shrimp and pork gyoza appetizers which were tasty. The kids had miso soup which was stronger than they are used to. My husband ordered the mixed tempura and the picante roll. I ordered the toro box roll which the whole family enjoyed. Son ordered the salmon which takes 25 minutes to prepare but was worth the wait. Daughter ordered the tempura ramen and liked how they gave her a pot of dried peppers to add to the ramen. Food was outstanding and I think five different staff members came by to check on us. The low sodium soy sauce is in the small shirt container and the regular soy sauce is in the taller container. The plates were pretty and the wooden utensils was unique. I love how the fish is flown in from Japan weekly. And I noticed the health inspection score is now an A, 92. We were in and out within an hour which I thought was extremely prompt. All the food was delicious and I would recommend highly!

Decatur Rd. at a very busy intersection, it sits tucked into a tiny shopping center, blink and you will drive right past it. Parking is limited, and you can immediately tell the small lot fills up fast, especially during peak hours. I stumbled upon Tenya while in town on a Tuesday, scrolling Yelp in search of a solid lunch spot, and I'm glad I did. This is a family-owned Japanese eatery that specializes in comfort food, and according to their website, everything is made from scratch, which absolutely shows in the quality. I placed my order online and picked it up with ease. I ordered the Shrimp Saku Saku appetizer along with a fresh garden Tenya salad. The shrimp were excellent, perfectly crispy with a flavorful panko coating that didn't feel heavy or greasy. The salad was impressively fresh and came with their house-made ginger dressing, which paired beautifully with the crisp greens and added just the right balance of sweetness and tang. Inside, the restaurant is quaint and cozy, with a decent amount of seating for its size. The customer service was warm and welcoming; the lady at the counter greeted me kindly and had my order ready shortly after I arrived, making the pickup process smooth and pleasant. A nice bonus is the selection of packaged Japanese snacks and drinks available at the counter, always a fun touch and something you don't see everywhere. Next time, I plan to dine in and explore more of the menu, along with sampling some of those snacks and drinks. Tenya is a great example of simple, thoughtfully prepared food done right. I'll definitely be back.

I parked on the side of a building and got out and walked. Yall! Maps took me all over the block! I got my steps in that day but it's a lot of eateries so plenty to choose from. Oh, and I enjoyed the graffiti. Just as I was about to give up, I walked by two guys and one of them said, "You look hungry. You must be looking for the noodle spot". He said that people overlook it all the time. I had walked right by the restaurant multiple times. It's seems it's several restaurants share the same space so that confuses a lot of people. Also, the sign that says "Lifting Noodles" indicating you are in the right place was lying on the ground so I missed it. The restaurant is all the way in the back. I was greeted immediately and directed to place my order via a kiosk which I did. I ordered the Angry Zuko Ramen to go. They do have tables if you want to eat there. The wait was not long at all...maybe 5 minutes. The broth was really tasty and flavorful and had a nice kick to it. The meal is already spicy and when I ordered, there was a "make it spicy" option which I checked. So I'm not sure if by checking that option, it made it even more spicy than how it normally is or not. My only complaint is there was not enough meat and the egg tasted funny.. it had a sweet taste to it. Next time, I'll request more meat and no egg.

You have a myriad of restaurants to try, I was feeling like ramen so I stopped in for a Tonkotsu black. The ramen was good, I have to get a spicy, it had a hint of a plant taste to it versus just spice but it was still good though. You have to sit there and wait until they buzz your buzzer to get your food because it's made to order. Told all the things and gave all the detail. I will go back but I will probably try something else.

I love Downtown Decatur even though I don't get over here often. The ambiance was charming with hints of Thailand throughout and tables to seat maybe 50-60 people. As usual, there's traffic for to-go orders but most were coming in to dine in for a while. Our group was a party of 7 and the service was delightful. They explained menu options, drinks and even dessert. We started with cocktails, appetizers and finally our entree. We brought birthday cake so didn't order dessert this visit. My Red Sangria was delicious and a generous pour with fresh fruit. I had the soup for a starter and my usual - Pad Thai noodles for my dinner. The experience was very nice however there were some misses - the steamed dumplings were rather dry. Flavors for the curry didn't have a rich coconut flavor. The breezeway from the door (just a curtain) created a chill in the room but it wasn't too bad. Parking: There's limited street parking and the lots are rather pricey. Be advised, take Marta or take a ride-share.

It was busier than usual--probably thanks to the holiday--but the atmosphere was still fantastic, as always. The service was impeccable--attentive, warm, and full of great suggestions. I ordered the chicken okonomiyaki, a miso soup, and, after my last time's mistake, just one negroni--because, wow, that drink hit like a Mike Tyson punch the first time. The miso soup was, as always, a comforting classic--those little tofu cubes floating in that warm broth are just perfect. But the star was the chicken okonomiyaki. I only got the small one, but the flavor was out of this world. The chicken was so unbelievably tender--like, the A5 wagyu of chicken. I can still taste it days later--it was that good. I can already see it becoming my go-to, though I might go bigger next time, depending on my appetite. One of my favorite things is that OK Yaki keeps the kitchen open super late--especially handy on a Saturday night. If you're reading this and you're on the fence--don't second-guess yourself. Get in there, soak in the vibe, and treat yourself to some of the best food around. I can't wait to go back!
