Within, Momonoki there are two operations, the actual restaurant itself, and then Café Momo. I will be reviewing my experience at Café Momo. I went on a Friday morning, and the restaurant was moderately busy there were spaces open, however, it was still active, and there were a few full tables and people having conversations. They had anime and various other things playing on the televisions throughout. I went in for simply a pastry and specifically to try out the apple pie Matcha. I will say it did not disappoint. One thing I always love when I'm getting a Matcha is stellar presentation and it met that. With the piping of the cinnamon cold cold foam, to the apple crisp and caramel on top, it looked beautiful, and I was happy to enjoy it! This had a great balance between the whole milk, and the amount of Matcha you can see it is a nice dark green color It also wasn't too sweet, and I felt I was getting apple pie from the drink through the hint of spices in there, along with the garnish. I was able to secure a table against the wall for two by myself to take a quick snapshot of my tray and try out my drink before leaving. I also got a caramelized onion croissant with Gruyère cheese. These were both strong flavors, that worked well together. I do wish I could've gotten heated, but maybe that's something you have to do upon request. Came here recently with a small group and had an okay time. My friends got the spicy curry ramen and said it was not spicy at all and didn't have as strong of a curry taste as they would like. The katsu don bowls took a long time to come out (around 30 mins!) while our friends were already served their ramen. The katsu don was good, very filling but definitely not the best I've had. On the bright side, they gave us free strawberry pastries for the long wait which were tasty. My favorite item is their chicken katsu sando. Hits the spot every time. Today I went off the script and ordered their shrimp sando. It was not appealing at all tho. First of all the shrimp was tiny. I expected shrimp tempura size shrimp. And it was grey, not pink, so I'm not sure if it was done or not. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she took it back for the kitchen to analyze, and they said it was supposed to be grey:/ I ended up paying for another entree (they wouldn't refund me for the shrimp sando or just giving me a pastry to make up for it). This was MY experience and when I give anything less than a 4 I definitely make sure to double back to see if it's worth/changing or updating. Tbh, I don't see how it has the high ratings it has. I came based on a recent influencer recommendation I saw online praising their strawberry matcha. If you see my photo, you'll understand when I say there's no way this is anything resembling their posted examples. I was then informed I have to stir it. I'm not new to the strawberry matcha scene. I've been trying a new location everyday to see who has the best and this wouldn't even make top 50. Next was my greeted experience. I entered and was told take a menu, have a seat and someone would be with me. I don't mind ordering via online but that's not the instructions I received nor did anyone check on me to ask if I needed assistance. Here's where things differs. EVERY person that entered after me was immediately presented an ice cold water before even sitting. Mine didn't even have ice and I had to ask for it. I hate to think this was racially motivated but that's the only difference I could imagine... Lastly, my food definitely had a hair on top. Typically I'd send everything back and ask for a refund. We were in the area last Saturday afternoon after IKEA shopping. Was after to find street parking at the entrance to the block and it's free street parking during weekends! Went here during MLK day around 1pm and it was fairly busy. Seems like quite a few people just hangout here and don't order much. A lot of college students it felt like doing their work on laptops. Anyway, you do have to place your order through the phone / QR code. There isn't much of a personable experience however once you place your order, items do seem to come out pretty quickly. My friend and I both had the pork belly rice bowl with a few cocktails. The pork belly was yummy but not authentic. I expected chunky pork belly with a little more fat and the egg to be a little warmer, it seemed like they had the hard boiled egg premade. Overall the dish was good with decent flavor. The cocktails on the other hand were delicious and a very good price. I ordered a Daniel-San which has gin and I believe it was only $7. I also ordered a mimosa with prosecco and they are generous with their pours. I would go back here for another casual drink or bite but not necessarily a date or special outing. Got the pork and cheese katsu sando, it's solid but perhaps a bit too rich. The wakame cucumber salad was not good, it's sort of supposed to be very vinegary but it was quite bland. I also got the strawberry matcha latte and it was good! I'm not a huge drink person but I thought the drink was creamy and pretty grassy in a good way. The staff are amazing, helpful, attentive but chill. The restaurant is cute, you can either go to the cafe side to just get a drink and go upstairs or outdoors or you can go to the dining side to get drinks and food. This a place that I will be returning to whenever I visit Atlanta. The atmosphere of this place is so cute it has two floors with big windows that let in a lot of sunlight that are gorgeous. The matcha is really good as well they have a separate cafe from the kitchen so you can just come in and grab a drink at the cafe counter then sit and relax or I saw some students working. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch! The place is very cute and a popular spot to meet with friends or work. You are given a QR code to order online when you sit down. You do pay before you get your food, makes the process very quick. I got my matcha latte first. I wouldn't say it's amazing but it's a decent cup of matcha. The flavor isn't very strong so if you're looking for a strong hit of matcha, this probably isn't it. The ramen was really good! The broth was nice and savory, very savory and it had a good feel to it. Definitely a heavy meal but I looked forward to it. The noodles were good and the pork belly was amazingly soft and tender, it was probably my favorite part about it. I really wanted to like Momonoki, but overall, it missed the mark for me. The food was on the pricier side, and unfortunately, the taste didn't quite match the cost. The tonkatsu ramen came with a generous amount of noodles, but the meat was very thin--even with extra seared pork belly. The dinosaur egg was just okay, not sure it was worth the price. The fried chicken katsu sando was a letdown--dry, lacked moisture, and used regular sandwich bread, which made it feel less authentic. On the plus side, the mazemen had a decent amount of protein and was one of the more satisfying dishes. It was also hot and crowded, and we didn't get water until pretty late in the meal, which didn't help. The saving grace? The drinks were solid--flavorful and refreshing. I asked for a banana cold brew but hot and told her that I knew it would technically no longer be a cold brew but I just wanted the banana flavor and didn't mind (banana bread lattes are my all time favorite). She said no.. although I know it's fully possible because I have done it before with another barista. Went upstairs to study and the room was set to 65° I was FREEZING and left 10 minutes later. Seating was also limited + not the most comfortable and the view was to a highway so not the most pleasing the eye. They don't maintain their online ordering system well because I thought I was ordering matcha and sweet corn swirl and turns out, that flavor combo was out of date and not updated on the menu. You can't really taste the matcha, but the strawberry tasted super fresh and authentic. However, the latte was over $7 with tax...I think it personally could be at a lower price point and they would still see significant profit. We waited 30 minutes for food, which isn't too too bad considering how busy they were... but both dishes did not come out hot which was disappointing. I had to ask them to reheat my croissant. the croissant tasted great, but the sandwich itself was a little dry. My boyfriend thought the karaage curry was delicious - he says "for Japanese food in America, it was pretty good." We paid ~ $46 for food and drinks 4 stars for the matcha alone!! read more

Fast, reliable, password-protected WiFi. The girls who work here are also very sweet. Salmon shiitake bowl ($16) - got it with mixed greens. Salmon tasted super fresh and I loved the subtle sweetness of the shiitake. Very filling, though I think it was heavy on the soy sauce so it was too salty at times. Truffle duck shoyu ($20) - the noodles in this were amazing and perfectly chewy. The duck was too fatty and kinda tough though. Can definitely smell the truffle but can't really taste it. And the broth overall was a bit too salty and oily. Onion rosemary croissant ($6) - so good, super cheesy and flavorful. Just a bit oily though, but I guess that's expected with a croissant. We saw Momonoki in a review by a YouTuber (@nate_eatz), and boy was he RIGHT! This restaurant had a lunch special for $28. We started with a couple of drinks. I had my regular Artois, and Jamie had a custom-made "Raichi", a Lichi cocktail with Sabe Vodka and lemon juice. We then had the Fried Calamari, very good, well-seasoned and you could taste the Calamari! but the second one, the Crudo was AMAZING! Clean, flavorful, just one of the best I've had in a looooooong while! For our pastas, we had the Pappardelle Bolognese, really good! But the Miso Bacon Carbonara was EXCELLENT! I came here for a very delayed lunch/early dinner on Friday. Thus, I was quite hungry. I ordered the brown sugar latte, the takoyaki, the matcha cream puff, and the Tsukemen. The brown sugar latte was not too sweet but I did expect something much sweeter given how other stores' versions taste. For appetizer, I got the takoyaki which were the perfect size. For my entree I got the Tsukemen, and this was more proof that I am NOT a Tsukemen girly. Finally, I got the cream puff with matcha custard for the dessert. I was dumb and thought it was a matcha-flavored puff that you could add strawberry custard to, but it's really just a regular ol' puff that you add either matcha or strawberry to. As always, I love the seating options and that the store is divided into the cafe and restaurant. The servers were so attentive and kept checking on me because I was there for so long. Started coffee Wednesday with my best friend, and this was our first shop. Absolutely loved this spot. The ambiance was relaxing. Service was cool.
