Love this cute ramen place in the city center. We liked it so much that we went 2 times when we stayed in Amsterdam for 3 days. Service is always great and fast.

An authentic ramen shop, with good variety and delicious food. I had been longing for spicy food, and the butatama miso ramen really fit the bill perfectly. It was flavorful, the portion size was good, and it arrived quickly. It was a wonderful meal. Umaimon is one of several Takumi family restaurants -- I have to imagine the others would be good as well. Though my visit to Amsterdam was brief, I was sorely tempted to return -- in the end I didn't, just because I wanted to try more local food, but I consider it one of my best meals in Amsterdam.

Decent ramen place in Amesterdam, super popular even on a weekday evening, there was a line out the door, but a host came by to take down our name and let us know the wait is likely only 10 minutes. The inside is fairly large and service is fast, so you probably don't have to wait too long even with a line. They have a pretty large menu -- over a dozen ramen options, plus curry/rice bowls, and several appetizer options. I ended up getting the black garlic buta ramen and karaage. Both tasted fine, though the ramen chicken broth is a bit different the typical ramen broth, the flavors are not as heavy/thick/fatty, so keep that in mind. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal, the ramen tasted good and mine came with a soft-boiled egg which was done nicely, and the black garlic gave it a more hearty flavor than the miso/shoyu base which seemed quite light (based on what I saw at other tables). We had hoped to get dessert but they ran out so we couldn't try it. All in all, decent ramen place but doesn't compare to other ramen places I've been too. Lots of menu options so a great choice for Japanese food even if you don't want noodles.

I really liked the Yuzu Lemonade--not something I see in other ramen shops and asian restaurants. That being said, I've tried many ramen places in the United States and Japan, and here--it's just alright. The Black Garlic Buta Miso Ramen tastes pretty good, but it doesn't really have any significance to make this a memorable experience. The atmosphere is very well-designed tho, I'll give it that. The service was decent at best.

    The Spicy Mala Gyoza

The wife and I started with the spicy Gyoza, a Kirin on tap and Sho Chiku Bai hot Sake. 8 of 10 stars. We moved on to two Ramens one was Black Garlic Buta Miso Ramen the other was listed as Spicy Butatama Miso Ramen. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the ambiance in this place was dependent upon where you asked to be seated. The wife and I enjoyed watching the passers by.

Great Ramen stop while in Amsterdam! I had a number 4 and my husband had number 13. The noodles weren't over cooked and the broth good!

We found this place while walking around Amsterdam. We had a delicious dinner here. We had dumplings as an appetizer, which were delicious. We both ordered separate ramen bowls for dinner, both were delicious and packed with flavor. The service was super fast and attentive. It is simply decorated and has ample indoor/outdoor seating.

I found this place because of Yelp! and again was satisficed. The selection is great and we immediately got a table. I got the Black Garlic Buta Ramen and my wife got the Butatama Miso Ramen. We both really, really liked our dishes and had left overs. However, the star were the Kara age, or boneless fried chicken wings. They were lightly battered and fried to a golden crisp. They were really, really delicious and worth the trip alone. But then, we got our ramen and it topped off the experience. We would definitely go back.

Some of the best ramen I've ever eaten. We had the Mala Chicken Ramen and Gyoza dumplings. The restaurant is tucked back an alley in the Leidseplein area. Some outside seating is available. Highly recommend.

If I could get this ramen delivered to the states I would. By far one of the best I've ever had in my life! Went to this place over a week ago and I still think about this meal every day. My group of 4 got seated quickly and service was great! One card can only be charged per table. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who visits Amsterdam!

Was craving noodles and saw this packed joint. Def not disappointing for flavorful ramen. Lots to choose from with good seating. It was busy and full of energy.

Very good ramen. Noodles aren't fresh but ingredients are. Excellent service. The fried chicken miso ramen was excellent.

The ramen was fine but not especially flavorful. The curry was DISGUSTING. So bad. The service and people were nice.

I ended up getting the Noukou Chicken Ramen, and I think my husband got the Mala Chicken Ramen.

Very eclectic place. Great food, not the greatest service or comfortable dining experience. 4/5 for…read morethe food; 3/5 overall. We arrived around 6:30pm for dinner. Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
