Good ramen. Price is okay but maybe expected in Amsterdam. Tried the gyoza which was tasty. Woos come back try other ramens.

I went in almost right at opening (17.30) on a Friday night. Since it was just me, I sat at the counter by the door. Over the course of my meal, it became very crowded, very quickly. I knew I wanted a Kirin, because in my experience beer goes well with ramen. The large is 500 ml. I also got edamame which was a generous size. For ramen, I ordered their number 1 recommendation: Gokujo Sapporo Kuro Miso Ramen. I love that they let you substitute the pork for the egg. It was delicious. I finished the entire thing and it was just the perfect amount. In addition to the great food, I have to compliment the server. She was very friendly and also extremely helpful. I was curious about the chicken karage as well but after discussing it with her, she cautioned that it might be too much. She was right. I'll be back to try the chicken. I've had ramen at a few places in Amsterdam and I would come back to this one. It's that good!

This review is for their original location within walking distance from their new west location. It was very quiet on a Sunday lunchtime which was fine as service was quick. This location has more space and offers delivery. My partner and I had the tonkatsu and shrimp ramen. Tonkatsu was okay, broth didn't have a rich flavour so they could work on simmering it longer. Toppings were plenty with thick cuts of pork, veggies, onions and an added egg. Noodles were a bit soft. The tempura prawn ramen was much better. Two breaded shrimp and two shrimp gyoza along with wakame and onions with added egg. A full meal. Egg noodles were tasty but could be served harder. Broth had full shrimp flavour, not for the weak! This is a casual place for ramen with a big selection. I've had better but the menu has potential. Would be nice if table water was provided.

This cozy and casual place in De Pijp serves up my favourite ramen in Amsterdam. There is a nice selection of different ramen dishes for €12. For another €1, you can add an egg. It's a perfect spot to get away on rainy days and pair it some warm sake. The service is always friendly and the food comes really quick. It can get busy during the lunch rush but it tapers off pretty quickly.

We were really on the hunt for ramen and were so pleasantly surprised with the booming Asian food scene in Amsterdam. We sought out Sora Sapporo Ramen and did have a lovely bowl of noodles and broth. The place itself is pretty small. I'd say there are maybe a dozen tables. When we arrived, it was jam packed with nowhere to sit and nowhere really to wait without standing around awkwardly and just being in the way. The woman running the place, who I took to be the owner, was terribly overwhelmed when we came in. She didn't really speak great English and she was flustered with the crushing demand of having two waiting parties. We told her we'd wait for a table and stood around waiting. Once a table cleared, she asked if we'd be willing to share the four-top with another party if needed. We said sure and wound up sharing the table with a lovely pair of gents from California. The ramen itself was good - very good. Nice and rich, steaming hot and very flavorful. I thought it was a touch on the salty side but not bad. Overall it was a great bite and we'd highly recommend it. Just hope you get there when there isn't a wait. I also noted there is a dedicated place for patrons with bicycles outside of the restaurant on the sidewalk.

Came here for a solo lunch. The place reminded me one of many izakayas I have seen in Tokyo. Smallish, cute, friendly service, amazing food. Ordered tantan men - which more noodles than broth, and it was a lot! Noodles were springy, broth was thick and flavorful. I also ordered side of gyoza, and had a small glass of draft Sapporo -- which was heavenly! They don't accept credit cards - PIN (local Dutch bank card) or cash only. For all this luxury I paid €25

STOP THE PRESS!! After I had about 200 bowls of ramen in Japan I developed a serious addiction to serious ramen, just at the point when it almost started to become a problem I had to back to Amsterdam, only the find that after having tried ALL ramen places in greater Amsterdam, that there are no real authentic ramen with deep flavorful umami broth in Amsterdam (and yes, i've tried your place too) But! Low and behold! A new one, and...next to my house (which is going to be a problem) Rushed over immediately for lunch and going back for dinner. My god, this is the real deal, in Amsterdam! Go here...you wont be disappointed, even if you've experienced the real thing in Japan. They have got it all (Shio, Shoyu and Tonkotsu) but specialize in Sapporo style ramen, where the owner is from.

Good ramen place to visit on a rainy Amsterdam day. The broth was good, the noodles cooked perfectly with great texture, and friendly service. The space is quite small though and it gets filled up pretty fast so be prepared for that. We got there when it just opened and within 15 minutes it was full.

Here's a simple little Japanese Ramen shop. This is about as great as you can get outside of Tokyo. Some appetizer here too that are good and some Japanese curry that I'm gonna try next time I go back. Friendly staff and a ton of ramen options (pork, chicken, veg / miso, salt, shoyu, etc.). Particularly good for the porkophobic. Oh ya...in Amsterdam it won't get any better.

Authentic Ramen in Amsterdam. I had Shio 1st and Miso with butter corn at 2nd time. Yummy especially during cold weather!! I must eat ramen at there when I visit AMS!!

Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
