Don't hesitate - this is exactly what you want when you are thinking about ramen. Authentic ramen with delicious broth and satisfying ingredients. I recommend ordering the extra chili paste even on the spicy dishes, as they are not terribly spicy, but the flavors are very satisfying. The Triple Mala ramen, adding pork and chili paste, is among the best bowls I have had anywhere in the world, including Tokyo. I went in almost right at opening (17.30) on a Friday night. Since it was just me, I sat at the counter by the door. Over the course of my meal, it became very crowded, very quickly. I knew I wanted a Kirin, because in my experience beer goes well with ramen. The large is 500 ml. I also got edamame which was a generous size. For ramen, I ordered their number 1 recommendation: Gokujo Sapporo Kuro Miso Ramen. I love that they let you substitute the pork for the egg. It was delicious. I finished the entire thing and it was just the perfect amount. In addition to the great food, I have to compliment the server. She was very friendly and also extremely helpful. This review is for their original location within walking distance from their new west location. It was very quiet on a Sunday lunchtime which was fine as service was quick. This location has more space and offers delivery. My partner and I had the tonkatsu and shrimp ramen. Tonkatsu was okay, broth didn't have a rich flavour so they could work on simmering it longer. Toppings were plenty with thick cuts of pork, veggies, onions and an added egg. Noodles were a bit soft. The tempura prawn ramen was much better. Two breaded shrimp and two shrimp gyoza along with wakame and onions with added egg. A full meal. Egg noodles were tasty but could be served harder. Broth had full shrimp flavour, not for the weak! This cozy and casual place in De Pijp serves up my favourite ramen in Amsterdam. There is a nice selection of different ramen dishes for €12. For another €1, you can add an egg. It's a perfect spot to get away on rainy days and pair it some warm sake. The service is always friendly and the food comes really quick. The place itself is pretty small. I'd say there are maybe a dozen tables. When we arrived, it was jam packed with nowhere to sit and nowhere really to wait without standing around awkwardly and just being in the way. The woman running the place, who I took to be the owner, was terribly overwhelmed when we came in. She didn't really speak great English and she was flustered with the crushing demand of having two waiting parties. We told her we'd wait for a table and stood around waiting. Once a table cleared, she asked if we'd be willing to share the four-top with another party if needed. We said sure and wound up sharing the table with a lovely pair of gents from California. The ramen itself was good - very good. Nice and rich, steaming hot and very flavorful. I thought it was a touch on the salty side but not bad. Overall it was a great bite and we'd highly recommend it. Just hope you get there when there isn't a wait. This is just a bad place to eat. If you love the ramen here, you don't understand what ramen is. Also, all of their small dishes come out of the freezer and nothing is made there. There was canned corn in my ramen. What the fuck??? Been there twice and both time it was horrible. The service sucks, the food sucks and the place is filthy. Also, the waiters wear rubber gloves while working. This means that rather than washing their hands after touching dirty dishes they are clearing dirty dishes from tables and then serving you with the dirty gloves. That's besides the fact that they are creating waste for absolutely no reason. There is zero benefit to a waiter wearing gloves which are intended for cooks to wear only if the food they are touching is not going to be cooked afterward. These people are not fit to serve food or run a restaurant. Please please please do not support them. Takoyaki-Party! lol - if I see takoyaki on the menu anywhere, I'm there! My friend and I on our trip wanted to find something different to eat and we stumbled upon this ramen place. I saw a bunch of Japanese restaurants in town and they all looked way more authentic than most of the ones back at my hometown so I had to try it. We had the tonkatsu ramen, takoyaki, and the chicken karage. Everything was SO GOOD! I loved the karage especially, very juicy and fried nicely! The ramen was great too, loved the thickness of the broth and it tasted delicious, not too strong and heavy like some places! Finally an authentic ramen spot in Amsterdam! I had to try the Sapporo Kuro Miso Ramen and the broth was rich and full of flavor. Sapporo ramen is typically topped with sweetcorn, butter, bean sprouts, finely chopped pork and fried onions. The noodles are fresh, chewy and every week imported from Sapporo, Japan. There are many options of ramen to choose from on a miso, shoyu or tori shio (no pork) broth base. Sides to choose from like takoyaki, ebi tempura, chicken kara age and we tried the gyoza's which were very good. If you're not into ramen there are several donburi bowls to choose from. The owner is very friendly and born is Sapporo. He worked as a master chef in several cities around the world before starting this ramen shop in Amsterdam. Finding good/decent Ramen is relatively easy regardless of where you are. Finding exceptional Ramen is another story, and this inconspicuous little joint, my friends, has one exceptional Ramen. A Japanese chef trained in the French culinary arts who decided to come to Amsterdam and set up shop to show the people here what real Ramen is all about sounds like a good story right? But this joint does not live of stories, the food is just outstanding, the broth is rich and complex, a great balance, it does not need anything else inside, trust me. The noodles are beautifully cooked and the pork is flavorful and soft. Their Takoyaki is pretty delicious and they have Asahi beer on draft. What else do you need? The shop is tiny, so you should either be lucky or gonna have to be patient, but this just makes things much more cozy. The presence of Japanese people should tell you a little about the authenticity of the joint, and once you are done with your Ramen you will agree with me. So just forget about dinner tomorrow and get your butts to Sapporo Ramen Sora, you will not be disappointed. read more

The wait staff was fantastic: helpful, prompt, and polite. The ambience was cozy but clean and never too crowded due even when full due to their layout. The vegetable ramen was very delicious! The broth was creamy. I added an egg and it was probably the best seasoned egg I've ever had - subtle yet distinct flavor with a soft center (more like a 7 minute egg rather than a 5 or 6). That being said, the vegetable choices were not ideal (all leek and green onion) or as numerous as the meat offering in my companion's bowl.
