I just love Katsu chicken and it comes with a delicious sauce, white rice and miso soup.

The food is so fresh and a taste I've never had before the sauce is amazing and makes the plate unique. They call your number when your order is ready to eat. You get to make your own Ambience which is such a great thing, because you can create your dining experience. I just LOVE this eatery!

Ever since Hmart Quincy opened their food hall, we have gone just about every other day haha. Umai Katsu is one of the food stalls inside the food hall and offers popular Japanese comfort food dishes, such as curry katsu! We have ordered the pork katsu a couple times now and noticed that the chicken is not that hot; its definitely cooked but probably reheated. The meat itself is not dry though, so that's good. One thing that I do wish is for more curry sauce. They only give a very small cup of curry sauce. Typically for katsu, the fried pork (you can also do chicken katsu) comes with A LOT of curry. The curry is a bit on the blander side, as well. Hoping that they offer more curry sauce in the future for this dish!

This is my usual go to for Japanese food that isn't sushi. The staff were nice and orders came out in about 10 minutes. Now the flavor was just fine, but if they are using portioned bags for the curry portions they need to have more curry. Most Japanese spots we eat at around usually give you enough curry to smother your rice and dip / drizzle over the protein. Definitely not enough curry imo. But flavor was fine, chicken wasn't dry and it was a filling dish for dinner or lunch. Would come back probably see if i can add extra curry or pay for extra portion haha.

Chicken katsu, nothing special, the katsu is crispy and juicy but the curry is too watery. The portion for the katsu is average.

the curry katsu chicken is fried just right for me for the most part, some pieces were too crispy and the meat was dry inside. the curry sauce be lacking the bold flavor imo. The portion of the pork is good but the rice portion I think they can do better. The miso soup was cold and the waitress never gave me a spoon lmao. For food court meals, I think it's kinda pricey.

We started out with the Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Bao, which were decent. The Bao was a little stiffer than expected, but the flavor was good. The little bit of scallion really added to the flavor. We also had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Those were awesome! Perfect flavor and texture. Who knew Brussels could be so good?! We then had the Miso Tonkotsu Ramen, The Miso Kimchi Ramen, the Tonkotsu Ramen, and the Shio Garlic Ramen. The Miso Tonkotsu Ramen had the best flavor hands down. A really nice salty and umami flavor that was perfect. The Tonkotsu & Kimchi were both quite good too. The Shio Garlic Ramen was a little lacking. The broth reminded us of a stock chicken Pho broth. It was decent, but nowhere near as good as the others. We also loved the location and the whimsical style of the interior. It had its own design style, and wasn't trying to be another me-too location. We look forward to our next visit soon!

Every appetizer we tried was a hit with the crab rangoon being the clear favorite crispy flavorful and hard to stop eating. They're known for their udon noodles so we had to try a few. The Snow Crab Udon was comforting and well balanced (may not be for everyone as this dish is served cold!) while the Beef Kimchi Udon (served warm) brought a nice kick of heat and bold flavor. We also ordered the Chicken Curry Don rice bowl which was hearty and satisfying and rounded out the meal nicely. Overall this is a great go to spot in Quincy for udon and Japanese comfort food. I'd rate the food an 8 out of 10 with drinks and appetizers really helping it shine.

Everything that we've tried so far (and we eat a lot!) have been a solid 4+ stars: Fried oysters, Chicken gizzards, Tako wasabi, Kurobuta sausage, Ankimo and the Hamachi kama all excellent starters. What surprised us most was the quality of the sashimi -- so fresh and tasty. You can't go wrong with the hamachi, salmon, tuna or special scallops and the ikura nigiri and the Torched Salmon Maki were both fantastic. The only thing that would've elevated this more is if they had options to order it as sushi dinners vs needing to order everything a la carte to get a decent amount of sushi as an entree. For the noodle soup lovers, my 2 year old ate the entire adult-sized bowl of Kitsune Udon! I tried a bite just to see what all the excitement was and can attest that it's got a nice sweeter broth that will get your kiddos hooked. Service staff were very nice and the cute cherry blossom decor is nice and inviting. They also can make a mean Gimlet if you're into cocktails. We shall be back!

The food is always ready on time and it is some of the best sushi I've had in the Greater Boston area. I usually get the following: Sake sashimi (salmon). Can I just add that the sake is my favorite! The salmon is so fatty and the slices are thick! Maguro sashimi (tuna) Hamachi nigiri (yellowtail) And then I'll get some type of roll. Spicy tuna is a go-to, but it's not spicy enough. I wish they had some of that spicy mayo on the top. It's still good, but not the "spicy" type of roll I'm used to. One of my favorite rolls is the Four Season Maki special roll that has lobster with cucumber and avocado and topped with salmon and tuna. It's sooo delicious and decadent, but I don't get it all the time because it's an $18 roll. Overall, all of the fish is so fresh and thick cut. They don't skimp on quality or quantity. The staff was extremely nice and helpful from the first moment. We had never been here, and it took a bit for us to absorb the menu, and the wait staff was happy to answer any of our questions. We ordered gyoza and the shrimp balls to start. The gyoza was decently done, and the shrimp was crunch on the outside, and still nice and juicy in. We then had a variety of rolls, nigiri and specialty rolls with a Chicken Katsu Curry bowl. The Chicken katsu was well done, very well fried, and still moist interior, and the rice and curry combo was just the right amount of both. The nigiri were all well done and had a good rice to topping ratio, and did have a bit of wasabi under each piece. The rolls were also a good mix of interior and rice. All were well prepared. If we are in the area again, we would definitely go back. It was a little pricey, but I would prefer good sushi, vs. cheap bad sushi that is skimping on the fish etc.

I would go to the original Brookline location but this one is a little easier for me to get to. My go-to is the OG miso ramen, It's very rich and hearty, leaving you quite satisfied after eating. If you want a "cleaner" flavor, then shio is a good choice. The portions are rather generous and they don't skimp on the toppings. You actually get a 1/2 egg included, which is becoming rare these days. The karaage (fried chicken) isn't the crispiest I've ever had but it is really flavorful and tender. The marinating and using boneless chicken thighs lends itself to having those two traits. Service is generally friendly and prompt. The area inside is a little dark, and uses artificial lighting to stay somewhat bright, but it's fine. This is a less cramped space than the Brookline location and since it's in a strip mall, there's parking. The area is rather devoid of ramen shops, so this was a much-welcomed addition.
