Fuji is one of my go-to sushi spots in Quincy, for casual lunch or dinner! Literally cannot go wrong with anything you order from here. It's a smaller restaurant with room for a few tables, so not ideal for bigger parties but great for tables of 2-4. Prices are unbeatable for the quality and quantity, & fish is always fresh + they never skimp. For lunch, I like to take advantage of their lunch specials. My favorite thing to order is their L6B: 3 maki roll combo, which comes with miso soup & salad. This combo in particular includes spicy tuna roll, sake/salmon roll, & una/eel-avocado roll. Usually for dinner, I get their #38: Fuji Sampler (for 2). It comes with 15 pieces of sashimi, 10 pieces of nigiri, & a dragon roll. I also enjoy getting their chirashi don every now and then. For appetizers, I always have to order the Hokkai Yaki & seafood salad. For take out, we often get their sushi Platter D, which comes with 8 different maki rolls + 4 different sashimi. Parking: it can be annoying to find parking on this side of town but there are 2 hr free parking spots on the st.

My partner and I shared the Fuji sampler (for 2), Joe maki, tiger eyes, and super caterpillar maki - TASTE: 4/5 - satisfied our sushi craving. Our favorites were the Joe maki's tuna and sampler's dragon roll TEXTURE: 3/5 - wish there was rice in the tiger eyes and didn't love that the super caterpillar's crab meat wrapping made the roll very soft, but thankfully it had lots of tobiko and crunch toppings PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $110 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - glad the Fuji sampler was bigger than I expected! Left dinner feeling full SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 6pm on a Tuesday and were one of two parties dining in, though many folks dropped by for takeout. Our waitress was attentive, and dishes came out 5-10min after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 3/5 - more seats inside than I thought. The space is fairly basic PARKING: 4/5 - got a free 2-hour street spot right on Hancock St

Always a 10/10 experience here. The quality of sushi is always fresh and consistent. I've been here for around 10+ years and they never fail to deliver great portion sizes and great taste for a great price.

We ordered Sushi Platter A last Friday, which came with 10 pieces of sushi, a Spicy Tuna Roll, California Roll, Alaskan Roll, and Shrimp Tempura Roll. The sushi itself was fresh with a good fish-to-rice ratio, and everything tasted great. However, the presentation was a bit disappointing because it didn't actually come in a platter. I ordered the platter D before & I think that is the only one that comes in a platter? The bigger issue was the customer service. When we called to ask how many pieces came in the platter, the cashier was dismissive and condescending. My friend also experienced rudeness when picking up the order

Fuji Sushi is a great spot! The sushi is always fresh, the prices are reasonable, and everything tastes really good. A nice place to enjoy a meal, and also great for takeout! Definitely worth coming back!

We ordered takeout and it was a quick and easy process for pick up. Both dishes came with a side of miso soup and a salad which was all packed nicely. No complaints here and the food was tasty at a reasonable price!

Vicky is the absolute best! Food is fantastic - highly recommend Fuji for the incredible service and amazing sushi.

Came in around lunch time and not many people in. Ordered the lunch special "Chef's Special" which was tuna roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon roll Lunch special comes with miso soup and side salad with ginger dressing. Entree comes out and I didn't have a good first impression. Fish didn't look visually fresh and then tuna roll was horribly rolled. Messy and loose. The tuna roll was not good at all - it was like canned tuna and so much sriracha Mayo. I guess you get what you pay for because it was extremely cheap

Sushi Platter D

This place became a regular for me during covid when I wanted a sushi fix. The quality of the fish is pretty fresh and sushi platter D comes with a great variety of rolls and sashimi like spicy tuna, unagi/avocado, California, dragon, spicy salmon, hokkai yaki, snow mountain, and caterpillar. I'm usually very picky with my sashimi as well, and the fish here is great for that! I have also tried the other dishes like the house fried rice, beef teriyaki, and yaki udon. The other dishes were decent, but nothing that was out of this world. I think the main specialty here is the sushi. The wait time here isn't too long and it is decently busy everytime I come by around dinner time. The waiters and servers are very friendly and the service here is very quick.

The boss had a terrible attitude; he used the Fuzhou dialect to discriminate against me, assuming I wasn't from Fuzhou.

Toppu is an underrated hidden gem in Quincy!…read more Recently opened and located in South Quincy, Toppu serves Japanese cuisine, ranging from ramen to sushi to omurice. First, we got the vegetable tempura to share. It was light and crispy, pairing well with the sauce they provided. My personal favorite was the sweet potato tempura! They also offer a terrific sushi combo special; 2 rolls for $15 or 3 rolls for $19.45. We got two 3-roll sushi combos and I personally opted for the Spicy Salmon, Spicy Scallop, and Shrimp Tempura rolls. My favorite roll was the Spicy Scallop roll, but all the rolls were amazing! The Spicy Scallop Roll is a MUST TRY here. The fish is so fresh and they give a lot of fish (perfect fish-to-rice ratio!). I love how the tempura was crispy in the sushi rolls as well. Overall, the quality of the food is solid too, and it's a great place to get some tasty sushi. There are probably about 8 tables max at Toppu, so it's a great spot to grab some takeout. They have their own parking lot and there's tons of street parking right in front of the restaurant. However, I definitely recommend dining in though! The restaurant is clean and cute. I love how they have Toppu dishes and glasses. The staff is also very friendly. One thing to note though (which is the only reason I'm giving Toppu 4 stars instead of 5) is that the service can be a bit slow when they're busy. It took some time to get our food and the bill. There was only one waiter working as well. I'm sure once they've been open for a while they'll figure it out! I recommend giving Toppu a try! I'll be back soon to try their ramen and omurice.

I was worried that I had fallen out of love with it, and/or that my palate changed for the worse. Still, me being me, when I discovered Toppu was open, I made it a point to stop in and give it a try. This time I was not afraid of the heat, and ordered the spicy "Volcano" Ramen. I've had my tail absolutely handed to me a handful of times, but I decided to trust the server that it wasn't crazy hot. Well, I am glad to report this was the best bowl of ramen I have had in a long time. It was so good, even though it has been less than 24 hours, I am tempted to go back and order the same thing again. This is one of those rare cases when I cannot think of anything negative to say. Yes, this means I have experienced perfection! I have to start with the broth: the broth had the perfect amount of salt, was very savory, and had a hint of extremely pleasant sweetness. True to the server's word, the heat level was on point. It was spicy enough to be noticeable, but not at all overpowering or overwhelming. The definition of pleasant heat. The Chashu was also great! It was grilled/roasted instead of being boiled, and it had a good balance of fatty and meaty. It had absorbed a little bit of sweetness from the broth which worked wonders with the protein. For the noodles, these were cooked to perfection with just a teeny tiniest amount of firmness for texture. The egg was also cooked perfectly. For the veggies: I love the use of bean sprouts and bamboo shoots for added freshness and crunch. The use of Nori (which I think also counts as a veggie?) was also excellent and added a new dimension to the bowl. Finally, for the service, other than me wishing that an empty water glass was noticed a bit faster, no complaints here. The service was kind, polite, and speedy. When it comes to the location, it is clean and bright! They did a truly lovely job renovating in rehabbing the Dunkin' Donuts that used to be here. With this, I am absolutely a fan of Toppu, and I'm going to make a point to stop in at least one more time before I leave the state for good!

I recently wrote a review for the 'Hot & New' Omori in Quincy. While I am not a detractor of Omori,…read morethe experience there left something to be desired. This is due to some creative decisions I disagree with and, at times, very little eel. Meanwhile, Sake Japanese Restaurant hits just the right spot! The creative decisions were excellent, with everything coming together splendidly. The fish was fresh and in more than generous amounts. This, in turn, makes the cost of about $20 per roll seem reasonable and makes it much easier to stomach (I didn't intend the pun, but I will own it). Regarding the Holiday and the Kevin Page, these maki rolls are similar. Both shine with the white fish on top and generous amounts of tuna (and salmon in the Holiday's case) within. The eel and cucumber add a pleasant new dimension to the pieces. I'd say these two are like identical twins adopted by different families. Each will have some unique personality and flair, but at the core, they are one. The crazy tuna brought something different to the table. While I am generally not a fan of the chopped-up style of fish, here it just works, and I didn't mind it. If I were to guess, this is because many places have more tempura than fish and add too much spicy mayo. Despite the style, the tuna was still able to shine through. For the inside, I enjoyed the crunch and freshness of the cumber with the sweetness and savory notes from the eel. Finally, the service was polite and speedy, though it wasn't bustling. Thus, not only would I happily return to Sake, but I would love to order the same three rolls again, for they were *that* good.

While my order was in route, the restaurant called and informed me that my driver forgot the hot items. Before I could even feel an ounce of disappointment and without prompt I was asked for my address as well as phone number and their delivery guy brought my ramen! No extra charge, and when I tried to give him a tip, he politely declined. THAT is platinum level of customer service. And to top it off, the sushi was delicious...I cannot wait to heat up and try the ramen. Highly suggest, if I could give more stars I would!

The food is always ready on time and it is some of the best sushi I've had in the Greater Boston area. I usually get the following: Sake sashimi (salmon). Can I just add that the sake is my favorite! The salmon is so fatty and the slices are thick! Maguro sashimi (tuna) Hamachi nigiri (yellowtail) And then I'll get some type of roll. Spicy tuna is a go-to, but it's not spicy enough. I wish they had some of that spicy mayo on the top. It's still good, but not the "spicy" type of roll I'm used to. One of my favorite rolls is the Four Season Maki special roll that has lobster with cucumber and avocado and topped with salmon and tuna. It's sooo delicious and decadent, but I don't get it all the time because it's an $18 roll. Overall, all of the fish is so fresh and thick cut. They don't skimp on quality or quantity. The staff was extremely nice and helpful from the first moment. We had never been here, and it took a bit for us to absorb the menu, and the wait staff was happy to answer any of our questions. We ordered gyoza and the shrimp balls to start. The gyoza was decently done, and the shrimp was crunch on the outside, and still nice and juicy in. We then had a variety of rolls, nigiri and specialty rolls with a Chicken Katsu Curry bowl. The Chicken katsu was well done, very well fried, and still moist interior, and the rice and curry combo was just the right amount of both. The nigiri were all well done and had a good rice to topping ratio, and did have a bit of wasabi under each piece. The rolls were also a good mix of interior and rice. All were well prepared. If we are in the area again, we would definitely go back. It was a little pricey, but I would prefer good sushi, vs. cheap bad sushi that is skimping on the fish etc.
