Summary: We highly recommend Ultrascapes for a landscape build and/or renovation. You really can't go wrong with hiring a company whereby the prideful owner remains involved with the project from beginning to end and treats the project as if it were for his own house. He is very focused on customer satisfaction. Details: We hired Ultrascapes to build a grill island to house 2 high-end appliances. We solicited ~4 proposals from various contractors. Ultrascapes' lump-sum fee proposal was in the middle range of all proposals received; which was good for us as we don't like to select low-bid nor do we want to pay a stupid premium for the same work. We ultimately selected Ultrascapes because we felt that the owner, Ryan, seemed to grasp our vision better, was helpful in determining design & materials, and was willing to work with our budget to make our project happen. Ryan is professional, responsive, involved, and stays committed to the outcomes of the project. He maintains high standards on the quality of the finished product as if he was completing it for his own property. In terms of schedule, Ultrascapes began work a week after authorization and providing our deposit to get materials procured. They stayed onsite almost every day through completion. There were some issues during construction from decisions made by his crew, but Ryan quickly corrected those issues and kept the project schedule. Ryan would visit the site almost every day to supervise the progress and quality. Another valuable point: He didn't attempt to nickel & dime us with various small change-orders that may not have been detailed in the original scope of work; he stuck with the original vision, outcome, and lump-sum fee proposal. read more

We hired Ryan and Christy to do a massive project in our backyard. They are putting in a pool/spa with three water features and two fire bowls, a pergola, a built-in BBQ, and a bar on the patio, and completely landscaped the back yard! We had three other companies do bids and they told us that they wouldn't finish until September. Ryan told us that he could have us swimming by August. Well, here it is June 10th, and we will be swimming by next week! Gualo and his crew members have worked their butts off and knocked it out of the park! We couldn't be happier and don't have one single negative thing to say about Ultrascapes. The work ethic and attention to detail is crazy good! Our next-door neighbor is so impressed that she's having an outdoor kitchen and eating area put in. My husband Michael and I are so pleased with Ultrascapes and would hire them over, and over again. I noticed a very negative review by one Anders Cook. All I can say about this person is that nothing could make him happy! Maybe he should be called Angers Cook! So happy with the work that Evo Landsacping did. This is the easiest review to write! Ryan's team did amazing work and they were so respectful of our home. I even caught one of the workers cleaning out the pool before he left one day. Ryan is great to work with, so happy we decided to contract with him and I would HIGHLY recommend him and his company. My husband scheduled time off this morning for a quote consult scheduled. We were contacted a few minutes before our scheduled appointment indicating Evo was running an hour behind and providing a new ETA. The new ETA came and went without any communication. Evo no called no showed. I understand life happens but please have the consideration for our time when you make a commitment. read more

I highly recommend Ryan and his team at Evo Custom Landscaping.  We are new to Arizona and were clueless about desert landscape.  We purchased a new construction home on a .32 acre lot with nothing but dirt in the backyard.  With 2 dogs and 2 cats rolling in the dirt then jumping on our furniture, we were anxious to get our yard landscaped. We got bids from 3 different landscape companies and we chose Evo because we liked Ryan's design, response time and price quote the best.  We have been very pleased with our decision.  Ryan's team works extremely well together - they did a wonderful job on our landscape, water feature, fire pit and outdoor kitchen. By word of mouth, Evo Custom Landscaping has landscaped 4 yards in our neighborhood now and everyone has been happy with their outcome.   The crew cleaned our front and back yard EVERY single day before leaving.  Some of the other landscapers in our community leave terrible messes. read more

I'll start off by saying the work, when it was completed turned out really nice. It was a big project with lots of demo work, so four stars for the workers who were very professional and the job they did. We're really happy with the finished product. Now let's talk about delays... we paid for half of our $10k project on Nov 26th with an agreed-on start date of Dec 9th for a project that was estimated to take five days to complete. The 10 pallets of pavers should have arrived the week before the start of the project. There was rain in Phoenix and that delayed other projects the crew was scheduled on, understandable. We pushed the start date to the 16th. No pavers delivered yet, but ok.. not critical, but concerning. Crew showed up on the 16th, worked a full day doing demo.. second day, less than a half-day.. and still no pavers. Ryan told us the paver company was down to one truck and that was delaying the delivery. I told him I ran a trucking company and could get a truck and forklift to recover the pavers but he said he received a discount if the pavers were delivered and didn't want my help. (again, concerning) No more work was completed this week. I then made the mistake of engaging them on another project and that completely stalled out our paver project as we entered Christmas week.. more delays over New Years and in their defense.. more rain. Long story short, pavers were finally delivered Jan 2th. Once the pavers finally arrived the project was completed by the end of Jan 6th, and we're happy with the results. The delays were aggravating to say the least but the work was well done, the follow up was there and we're happy with the results. Ryan was responsive throughout the project. read more

Ryan and his crew were wonderful! Ryan was great to work with when I needed help designing our desert landscaping/cactus garden. He gave me lots of suggestions and went out of his way to find us the cacti we wanted. He was really quick to respond and once we decided on a plan, it was executed within just a few days. His crew worked fast but paid attention to detail and cleaned up all the areas they worked in. When they were done with oir cacti garden project, they even took the time to put the extra gravel that we had into other areas of our yard that had some bare patches. Evo did a fantastic job on remodeling our patio. It was a complex job with duel built in fountains and fire feature and all new travertine flooring. They started the job on time and went full speed to completion. Owner Ryan was heavily involved every day and took my concept drawing and produced a creative and stunning finished product. I am wanting brick work, planters, outdoor seating area and fire pit done. Set up appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate. Once booked, they messaged me to move the time. I said ok. (Indicates they had my contact info).....on day they were to come out I didn't hear from them. 30 minutes after appointment I messaged them, 5thought maybe they were running late. No response for another hour. THEN they blamed me and said they tried contacting me and didn't have a good number. They sure had it when they needed to move the time. When I told them I was disappointed they didn't contact me, they said, "my bad".......I told them they were unprofessional....and they proceeded to tell me "it's not a big deal"......what am I dealing with here? Teenagers? If you can't communicate professionally on a simple estimate, I sure as hell won't let you do work on my property.......that is a sure indicator of future problems and difficulty in dealing with you.
