Tony at Mirage did our landscaping for our new build home back in April 2024. Not only was he…read moreextremely professional and detail oriented but he came in surprisingly competitive in pricing compared to other quotes we had for companies that did not have anywhere near the experience or professionalism he had. So we decided to move forward with him. Not only did the job turn out perfect but he actually ended up getting everything done sooner than planned and he went above and beyond to make the job look as good as possible including throwing in a couple nice touches at the end that we didn't expect just to make sure it looked the best it could. Fast forward to late August.... This is where I'm very grateful we chose Mirage Landscaping. This year was brutal with the heat and unfortunately our beautiful new plants took a beating. I contacted Tony and he was out very quickly to look at our yard and evaluate everything. Without hesitation, he replaced nearly 1/2 of our plants (which was a lot) with no questions asked and didn't try to nickel and dime us or put the blame on us. What a relief! His warranty is as good as his word and his product! After he saw the yard, he had someone out in 2 days and everything is now replaced and beautiful again. I cannot stress how important that warranty was and him honoring his warranty. I've had other landscaping companies in the past that don't honor their warranty and it's very costly to have to come out of pocket to fix and repair their work. He probably saved me well over $1k-$2k by honoring his warranty and replacing my plants instead of blame shifting like most companies would and have done to me in the past.

He kept notes of some of the specifics about how the turf would be leveled etc., and even had the crew who came out to lay the turf also clean up a small flower bed and lay weed barrier without an extra charge. AJ was great to work with and was always very responsive and professional. The crew was fantastic as well. Ismael was the crew lead and we spoke very briefly before the work began. When I would begin to talk about what I had told AJ (and that AJ noted) Ismael already knew what I was referencing and knew what needed to be done- it was easy to tell he and the crew had prepared for the job and did their homework. On top off that, they worked very fast, cleaned up completely, and made sure there wasn't anything else I needed adjusted etc. Ismael's crew was some of the best I've seen and can't recommend him enough. Working with AJ and Ismael was so easy, and it was a really great experience overall working with Sunburst. Definitely recommend AJ, Ismael, and Sunburst for landscaping projects.

Additionally, he was proactive with his recommendations for maintenance and plant care. When I purchased another home outside of his service area, he advised he was happy to continue service my property, but understood if I wanted to find a vendor who could support both properties. Eventually I did hire a different company, but continue to refer others to him in his service area.

The first few visits (as ABC) were fine, but then they went to crap about the time they say the sabotage occurred. OK...giving the benefit of the doubt, I contracted them to do clean-up and pre-emergent this month. The clean-up was not thorough. They missed two big piles of debris, possibly because they arrived late and didn't finish until after dark. The application of the pre-emergent was slip-shod. They put a dye in it, so you can see where it was applied, and where it wasn't. This was a half-assed job, frankly. And, similar to last summer when I fired "ABC", they aren't returning my texts or answering my calls, and their voicemail box is "full" per the automated message. In person, Christian is a nice guy, and seems earnest. But the way the business is run is unprofessional.

Basically the job that he did for us was worth about 1/10 of what we paid. We paid to have irrigation done in our backyard because we have real grass. It was not done properly. The irrigation can't handle the grass so every year we have to come up with a solution. The subcontractor that Jeff used is honest and told us that they cut corners. So now we are paying the subcontractor directly to redo our irrigation. We had a travertine patio done also. I recently found out that the travertine that was installed is from at least 3 different color palates. It is most likely scraps from other jobs that we paid full price for. Our job was done during Covid and I'm sure travertine was hard to find, but the fact that he never told us we were getting scrap travertine is so deceptive. It is cracking and falling apart and should be guaranteed, but they won't stand behind it. Every single tree, bush, flower, and I mean literally every one that they planted died within a few months. They give you a short warranty period and then won't stand behind their work. Weirdly, they said that the business had been sold since we had our work done. This was said via email. When we were speaking with a pool company that works with them, they said Jeff Held is still the owner. Another lie. I have heard from other neighbors that used him and were happy with the work that was done, so I don't know why we were so mistreated. We are pretty easy to work with and just ask for honesty and communication. We got neither. Stay far away from this company. Beyond disappointed in their customer service.

Melissa came to the homesite with paper and tape measure in hand (unlike another company we had contacted). She explained every aspect of the job in exact detail, and made great suggestions on how to get the most of our yard and project. She knows her stuff!! During the three months we had to wait to close on our home, Melissa ALWAYS made herself available to answer any question and give us updates, and never once asked for a down-payment. In her words, "we work on a handshake; that's how we do business." With a closing date established, Melissa provided the project timeline. The project started on schedule and took two weeks to complete. The crew showed up on time each and every day and worked their butts off every day. Josh and his team were fantastic, always answering every question and keeping us informed. Paul, who completed the natural gas hookups, was a true professional. The finished product included a tiled patio, gas BBQ and fire pit area, two areas of artificial turf, a boulder fountain, landscape gravel, lighting, side yard pavers, and 22 plants with irrigation. Each aspect was done professionally to our 100% satisfaction. (In contrast, the horrible company that Blandford Homes used for our tiny front yard took two months and NEVER did get it right!) BTW - we can't say enough about our beautiful boulder fountain! It is a one-of-a-kind piece of art that makes the yard stand out. Ask Melissa about them, you'll love one. Unique Landscape and Design exceeded all of our expectations and was a true pleasure to work with. We are so glad that we chose them for our project. They provided a fantastic design, spent as much time as we needed discussing the project, started on time, worked day-in and day-out to get the job done as quickly as possible, and produced a yard that could be in a home magazine! We absolutely recommend this company to you!!
