The only way to find out is just to do your research, find a glass company that specializes in the older glass replacements and ask questions if you've got em (which I did). My insurance sent me to Safelite, but after reading their reviews there was no way I was going to trust them with my truck! I found Blue Chip and their amazing customer feedback online and gave them a call. Kelly answered my questions, and was humbled by my asking to switch from Safelite. The appointment was set, lobby was stocked with delicious snacks (even vegan) and drinks, and the bathroom was clean. Chris checked me in, and John checked me out when it was time to leave. Freddy did a stellar job on my truck, even grabbing me to show what the body of my truck looked like after removing the old glass (yeah, there was some rust there). He explained that while he can do his best to clean it up by grinding it, that there would be a chance in the future for leaks and would be unavoidable unless I got body work done to fix it, which I opted out of. I thanked him for his transparency. Mind you, I have a 1999 GMC Suburban, which is not perfect, but I don't mind it. Freddy showed me my glass when he was all finished and I couldn't have been happier! I met Kelly in person as I was leaving and find that he is a great business owner who really cares about his clients and their experience with his shop. Recently I hired AGD Auto Glass Direct (AKA Glastek) to replace the windshield in my car. Prior to…read morehaving it scheduled, I asked if there was any sort of cash bonus/offer. Based on my vehicle, they told me $90, at which point I filed a glass claim with AGD/Glastek on the line. Once the claim was filed, I was told by my insurance to expect a link by text to take photos of the damage. While I did receive the link, AGD/Glastek called me just a few hours later stating they had the referral to complete the work and wanted to schedule. I questioned this as I had done nothing with the link yet that was provided by insurance, yet they assured me that b/c they had the referral I was good to go. The following day they replaced my windshield, but did not give me the $90 (claimed they forgot it and would mail it). Well the following day after that, they called/text me stating they needed my help as my insurance company wasn't paying them due to an issue with the referral. They asked me to call my insurance, which I did (spent an hour of my time trying to sort out their problem). My insurance company indicated they never sent any referral as I never sent in the pics, etc. They indicated AGD/Glastek jumped the gun and should not have replaced the windshield without the proper referral in place. A day or two later after that, AGD/Glastek reached out to me and threatened that if I did not call my insurance again to assist them that they would refuse to pay the $90 cash bonus. At that point I became quite frustrated with their demeaner and/or threat, seeing they are the ones who created this entire problem. So as of now, they never paid their cash bonus that they agreed to. Beware, I would strongly encourage anyone to look elsewhere as this is clearly false advertising.

For a different car I'd used "A large corporation that does windshields that everyone has heard of and does passable work." Weirdly enough they couldn't do it, and it turns out I'm glad they couldn't. Apparently there are materials they couldn't get due to the age and style, so I had to check in to alternatives. Magic Windshield got back to me first and had marvelous reviews and I see why now. First, the frustrating. When I checked, they got back to me with a very low quote. I called them up, and I asked two questions. "Does it have a logo?" No. That costs more. Okay I figured it would. "This other company couldn't do it due to this that and the other. Are you sure you can do it?" Yes, but it will cost more because of these things. At this point I'm frustrated that people don't check before giving a quote and making appointments, but I'm starting to think I should just get it done, so I bite the bullet, pay a bit more, and make the appointment. A day later they are changing my appointment time; and I'm questioning my intelligence for making an appointment with a completely unknown entity. Now, the good. The glass fits like a glove, unlike what was in the car before. They fixed the molding that the previous company messed up. They also aligned the trim correctly, which the previous company also messed up. The front of the car literally has never looked this good. Once they got here (and it turns out they had a good reason for the reschedule), they did a quick and efficient job. Despite the previous outfit's incompetence, they did not charge more. They fixed the problems, and were as good as their word on the quote. I promise, I had no idea that it had been done wrong, but now that it's right, I can tell. Bottom line, they did a good job. The work is good, they use the right parts, and though I paid a bit more than some others might have charged, it was worth it.

I called Magic Windshields because they were close to my work. Magic Windshields opened early so I called them right when they opened. I spoke with Gracie who was very helpful and checked with the installers and manager to make sure they could get my windshield replaced before I left work. I needed to leave work by 2pm at the latest and she made sure it would happen. I was also informed the company was also a recommended shop by my insurance, so that was a nice bonus. Gracie told me they could get it done and come to my work to get it done before 1pm. Cristian, the installer called me about 10 minutes before he arrived and quickly replaced my windshield. I am extremely thankful they were able to help me out so quickly and get me back on the road. The interaction I had with both employees was very pleasant and professional and the install was great.
