Their selection of frames is awesome. They have everything ranging from conservative to funky and edgy. The service is top shelf especially with Amanda Hellman. She is by far the best Optician I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. I took my girlfriend there and Amanda was terrific. Patient and engaged. Everywhere my girlfriend goes she gets compliments on her eyewear. Her prescription normally make her lenses look thick but not with Shear Opticians. I was browsing while there and ended up purchasing two frames which are both very kool! Melissa Shear is an excellent Optometrist so it is a one stop shop. I highly recommend! He was quick but thorough with my eye exam. PRICE: Most frames range from $160-$250, plastic lens $75, additional $60 or so for polycarbonate lens. Their frames choices aren't that great- they have a lot of simple ones, but not much of the brands. SERVICE: I made an appointment, but had to wait ~15 minutes to be seen.. Also, when I was waiting, I overheard the optician offering to take 50% of her polycarbonate lens and other additional discounts, but he didn't bother to offer me any. Maybe it was because I used the Livingsocial deal. BOTTOMLINE: I got a good exam, pair of plastic lens glasses, and prescription for contact for $45. Not bad at all.
