We like to visit Myrtle Beach once a month from Oct-April, and eat UCP on each trip. It's predictable and consistent. Not the best pizza by any stretch, but good. Tonight, as usual the place isn't busy, but the pizza was a no-go. We did dbl extra cheese and ham, $30 for one pizza. I'd argue there was 4oz of cheese and maybe 1 oz of ham. The regular guy that makes them wasn't back there and the new guys must be trained to skimp. If this was dbl cheese, then their regular pizza must be just sauce. I should have called and complained but honestly used to drama anytime I complained anywhere. It's not my thing but wanted to set expectations for others. read more

visiting from north carolina and stumbled upon the ultimate california pizza restaurant (ucp). my wife has been gluten free (gf) for almost 15yrs, and the gf pizza crust at ucp is the best she has ever tasted. the pizza looks legit, tastes legit and is a must if you are gf. the service was excellent, and we strongly recommend gf customers to visit ucp (it's a game changer). read more

We walked here from our hotel, it was pretty close by. The outside is not pleasing to the eye. However, once in the restaurant everything was perfect. The food and service were top notch for a pizza place. We ordered the Buffalo chicken pizza, stuffed bread sticks, and chips with Salsa. All of our food was fabulous. I found exactly what I was looking for, a cauliflower crust pizza at a place that had wonderful options for others in my party. We were seated immediately and met by a kind and gracious server. There are TONS of pizza options or you could even build your own. The personal size was just right for someone to get exactly what they wanted without having to share. I had the Cali White Pie on cauliflower crust but they also have gluten free and vegan options on pizza (including crusts). Others in party had a club sandwich, a personal pan, and a teriyaki chicken salad. That aside, there really is something there for everyone! The casual atmosphere and good prices make it a must stop for families on vacation. Reasons for the 4 star rating are these: The shared parking lot is small and we couldn't immediately find a space. There is overflow parking in a second lot but the signage pointing to it is hard to see. The only down side on the menu is there are not enough salad dressing options to pair with the diverse salads. A raspberry vinaigrette or a basic oil and vinegar would be helpful. read more

Look forward to this pizza whenever I come to Myrtle beach! We got half a Santa Cruz and half meat lovers. It was a little bit thinner crust than I remember but still so so good! we went Sunday evening at about 530 and they weren't busy which I was shocked at. We stopped in for a pizza for dinner!! The husband got a personal size Hollywood (meat pizza) and Ingot a personal size Margherita pizza (always my go-to). The pizzas were yummy and bubbly and hot and so delicious!!! Lache was our server and she was great!! She was attentive but not pestering!!! Currently my son's favorite pizza, and my husband likes it too, they shared a Hollywood Meat Lovers and yes, it was a lot of meat! The Jack bread is great. I had an Italian sub which was just okay (maybe I'm too picky, being from the Philly area which has great subs). The service was efficient and the prices reasonable. Well we're in town again and my kiddos requested to stop by again. Kids shared a medium pizza. Medium size and above can be split. They did half pepperoni and half cheese. They are the entire pizza this time! Much better than our first visit. Hubby had hot wings and they smelled soooo good. He said they were pretty good. I had the beer Kelly which is veggie pizza. It was delish! Only hang up was no one was there to greet us. There wasn't a wait at 8 on Thursday night. This visit was much better than our first. We called for delivery order and was told 45 minutes maybe an hour. They were at our door with piping hot pizza & wings in 25 minutes. Very courteous and order was correct and food was fresh and hot. They offer a lot of specialty pizzas or build your own. The build your own starts with size, then what kind of crust several choices, sauce also several choices, then more cheese choices than I've ever seen, and of course topping choices. They offer sandwiches, salads, appetizers which are more than most pizza joints, wings, and pizza. We went with the wings which we split half Jamaican Jerk and half Sweet Thai Chili. These were jumbo wings which are a little bigger than most places. They were excellent. We also got a large Hollywood pizza which has all meats and lots of cheese. They were not stingy with the cheese and the meat toppings tasted fresh. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any one. We are already talking about getting it again. read more

Stopped in and order 2 personal pizza's for takeout at the bar and tea. The guy behind the bar didn't hear the unsweet part and when he brought him and we asked for sweet we he said I heard sweet, he switched them out but seem to be annoyed. When we got the tea and asked for sweetener he got some from the waiter station but left it at the end of the bar so we had to walk down to get it. They seem to lack customer service or it was an off night. The place was clean and music was not too loud. Service at the tables seem to flow better then the take out. read more

UCP is good local pizza joint with California-themed pies, such as the UCLA (pepperoni and mushrooms) and some very creative multi-item pizzas named after such Golden State locales as Fresno and Berkeley. They make their own pizza dough in house. I like to pair a pizza with a house salad (with Italian dressing, of course). I've been here a bunch of times and always been pleased with the pizzas, service and atmosphere. read more

Dumpster-worthy pizza. I swear it's like they repurposed 3-day old Little Caesar's pizza, put it in their own box and delivered it. Delivery person was cool & professional, BTW. However, even the toddlers, who will usually eat anything, stopped at one piece. On top of it being practically inedible, it was also very expensive. 2 'pizzas' with only one topping was nearly $46.00. This is a repost of my alter Google review, BTW. This dump needs to shut down or rethink how they can improve during the off season. Before I begin, remember when looking at the cost, you also have to look at where you are. Myrtle Beach claims to be affordable, but you are still at a beach so expect higher prices. I love going to UCP for a good pizza, and for what you get, it is a pretty good value. This is one of the best pizzas you can get at Myrtle Beach, and the service is top notch. Unfortunately, they are understaffed. But taking this into consideration, they are doing a great job. The hostess explained there is a wait, and they want to give us the best service possible. The two servers were so pleasant, and did not show any frustration. Our server was great. Very kind, and worked hard with all her tables. The kitchen made an error, which they fixed right away. The pizza was delicious. I love the taste of the crust, and the toppings were just right. We will definitely eat here again. I really hope they are able to hire staff, and keep up the great service during busier times. I suggest enjoying your time here, and be kind to staff. read more

What a treat it was to enjoy pizza from UCP. The variety of pizzas is a little overwhelming but much appreciated getting away from a classic pizza. I enjoyed the surf and turf pizza while my husband had the Mexicali sans ground beef. Both pizzas were baked to perfection and tasted amazing. After driving up and down kings highway in search of good pizza, we landed upon UCP. It's a good place to go with kids for sure. And boy do we have a lot of those. Our boys loved their cheese pizza which was surprising since they're picky pizza eaters. We ordered the meat lovers which was really good. Not burned or dry. The right amount of toppings and sauce and crust ratio. The staff was amazing. Our waitress was so patient with us. She suggested the jack bread and we loved it. It was so soft and crispy. The kids even loved it. The alcoholic drinks we ordered were well made. We could taste the alcohol and the spirits and they weren't too strong. This place is a pizza bar with good food. read more

We felt this was overpriced for size of the pizza. My husband and I both had a personal pizza that was $12.99 each and came with four small triangle slices . We also felt the taste was very bland. For the amount of toppings and the variety they honestly didn't taste like much. The sauce lacked any sort of robust flavor and the crust was like cardboard. We were visiting Myrtle Beach at the time and we had dinner at three other restaurants owned by this company and this was by far our least favorite. I was told NO. I could drive the pizza back to Ultimate Pizza for a refund or tuff toodles. Then, I was hung up on. Pizzahut... Why did I try this screwed up nutty place. So sorry Lazer Pizza! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS DUMP. THEY TAKE NO RESONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DELIVERIES. They told me their orders go through a "third party" delivery. And they have no control at all. Was in Myrtle Beach during the summer and happened to be picking up a order for the family. Walked into this joint and the place was swamped! I took it a s a great sign! The fam ordered about a half hour before my arrival. However, when I got there the wasn't done due to some type of mix up. Unfortunately, I had to wait another half hour for their chicken broccoli . I was kinda pissed and asked if something could be done about the long wait. Turns out the owner was there and he affirmed that if I were to come back he would make a on the house. P.S. They said the was banging!!! But wait there's more..... Fast forward 6 months and I find myself back down Myrtle Beach. My son and I were exhausted after riding go-karts for hours and we needed a refuel. He said he wanted ! So walking toward the beach area we just happened to be right in the vicinity of this same place . Me being el cheapo said to my son, "Hey, this is the place where the owner said he would spot us a free ". So we walked in and sure enough the same guy that I talked to previously was there on a slow Monday afternoon. Not only did he remember me, but he put together a vegan cheese pizza(sons a vegan) for us on the house like he said! We've been ordering this every year we are here on vacation for the past decade, and this year they lost our business. At 6:00 we placed an order for delivery and were told it would be 45-60 minutes. We gave them 90 minutes before calling back to check on our order. They said they couldn't find it, and that it was likely on its way so we should check back if we didn't receive it in 10 minutes. After giving them another 20 minutes before calling back, they asked if we had the right location, and we said yes, we've been re-dialing them all night. Eventually they went and put the manager on the phone who said that the driver attempted to deliver the food and was turned away. We asked if they had the right unit because we've been here all night. And then the manager changed their story to "they tried to call and were told the order is canceled" though we had not received any calls. So, after talking around in circles for 10 minutes we finally convinced them to remake our order, but we'll pick it up to ensure we actually get it. Once we got there and waited in line to pick up our order, their way of making our 3 hour wait up to us was to throw in 2 to-go drinks and some paper plates. The best part? When we finally got the food home, the order was not only wrong, but tasted as though it had sat out the entire time our ordeal transpired. read more
