We've been coming to Ultima since it's old location. We grab a couple of these large tacos anytime we're nearby and get a hankering. My only complaint is that I don't think the put them together the same way as they used to. Back in the day the shell would sit on the flattop grill and then then would add the cheese, beef and lettuce and that shell would get an amazing texture. It's still a tasty taco nonetheless. Quick counter service and a clean little service area. Great, now this review made me crave a large beef ultima taco (actually a burrito). read more

So i ordered the ultimate ultima taco, it was a little over five dollars and some change. One taco was enough to fill my stomach. This place is very clean. Unfortunately there's no tables to sit and eat, so it's pretty much take out only. They also sell subs, and other item options, but really who goes to a taco place for anything other than tacos? very good tacos, probably the best place in west Seneca. Stopped by Ultima Taco I drove by the other day and today I decided to stop for couple of burritos not a good choice. The size was alright but my beef and cheese burrito lacked cheese and the meat was to dry. So again, a southerner in WNY who has grown up with real tacos... However, I have to say that I do sometimes crave this place. What they call a taco up here would be anywhere else just a burrito that was badly folded. I've learned to ignore my definitions for how a taco should look. The large ultima taco is pretty huge and filling and makes a great quick lunch. It's loaded with filling, meats, cheeses, tomatoes and lettuce, sour cream, hot sauce. I suggest springing to add some nacho cheese because...why wouldn't you honestly? The 'tacos' are way better than the nachos I tried first. And they have dessert 'tacos'... I've only had the cherry because I love cherry, but the staff are always suggesting apple. Essentially it's a small flour tortilla filled with pie filling, I assume fried, and then coated generously with glaze. It's an ingenious little tasty thing really. Place is JUST NOT THE SAME Taste Quality Consistency Mediocre Service ( taco Tuesday- says 1$ off milkshakes and I was charged full price and when I inquired she says "well that's not how it works" so I asked how it works and she said you have to say it. Which to me makes no sense. If it's Tuesday I should get the deal. The only thing I can say is the place is cleaner. Okay check it out guys! I love mexican food to the max. Doesn't have to be authentic or fancy for me to enjoy it but, this little place is pretty darn good. I will be critical in my review in hopes someone reads this and takes the advice, but even if they don't I will still be back! So, right off the bat the prices are fair, HOWEVER it's a cash only place. Boo! I mean its 2016 guys, get up to speed on the plastic. Cash is so 1999! Haha, but okay that aside, you want something mexican-ish and you have cash. I ordered the Super Ultimate Taco which was $5.15 and the weight of the bag alone made me smile. Got this baby home and unwrapped it and immediately noticed the soft shell was kinda stiff. Like it was heated and then cooled, Im not sure but I personally like my soft shells chewy. No big deal. Took a bite and the meat was good. Kinda like mom makes at home. I wanna guess the cheap taco seasoning packets? Not sure, but nothing special. Would def not mind more authentic tasting seasoning, but it was good! Not too greasy either. I ate the whole thing and didnt feel like passing out. That last bite wasnt a mouthfull of liquid and grease from the meat and veggies. No regrets here, it hit the spot! Definately worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. Came in today for the first time, it was absolutely horribly slapped together and over priced. Paid almost $40 for 3 burritos. Seen no cheese, the sour cream was chunky and the beef tasted like powder! And both of our tacos had finger nail puncture marks from someone who rolled them with long nails. I kid u not!!!! Horrible, O and his chicken fajita wasn't a fajita at all, it was chewy chicken, lettuce and tomato. No peppers and onions to be found! read more

Let me introduce you to my astoundingly overpriced $16 meal. First we have the hard shell taco. And when I say hard shell, I'm referring to a VERY stale shell and meat that is basically flavorless with a bit of spice. Next we have the bean and cheese burrito, which although it costs $5, tastes similar to mighty taco....just not as good. The nachos were ok, though as the cashier encouraged when we ordered "they aren't fresh or anything, just chips. Nothing special". Save your money and feed your entire family for this price at mighty taco. The food isn't worth it for the price, not by a long shot. Food quality is not the best . Expensive, greasy and fat filled . 6 damn bucks for a beef n cheese ?! Taco Bell is a better bet . I haven't been here in over a year and I should have waited another year. I ordered a chicken taco salad but when I picked up my order I was told that I ordered a chicken fajita salad instead. Turns out a regular taco salad ($2 cheaper than fajita salad) only comes with beef but since I said chicken, I got the more expensive one. Oh well, I'm sure it will be good, after all fajitas have meat and peppers and onions and jalapenos, cilantro, lime juice, etc. so this should be good right? WRONG. Wilted shredded lettuce, a couple of diced tomatoes, dried out, chewy microwaved chicken and hot sauce with a couple of crushed up chips on top, no cheese, no peppers for $7.95?! I was sad cuz I thought they had closed. But when I discovered that they moved, I jumped for joy & did a happy dance. Just becaused they moved, the food is still outstanding. Have been here probably 2 times prior and it was pretty good but my most recent visit, not so much. The only plus was I got my taco for free because I did not have cash and I read a prior review on yelp or another site stating they do accept cards which they didn't but luckily another customer in the shop paid for my taco...but when the employee handed me the taco it was slightly warm but really not even and I got there within 5 min of ordering it you would think it would actually be hot then when I ate it, barely any mild sauce on it, no sour cream and poorly wrapped I also have a sneaking suspicion that there was hardly or no taco seasoning as well as the beef almost seemed to have been just sitting out and was microwaved, defintaly not freshly made. But thanks to the guy that bought it for me I do appreciate the kind gesture and if I do ever go back I will leave something for you read more

Flavor is ok, but the food does not travel well! I've ordered Ultima through Skip The Dishes three times now, different delivery guy each time. The packaging is horrible. I absolutely LOVE their deep fried cherry taco and what I received was a big smushed pile of slop. Also, the two other tacos were falling apart at the seems. I picked mine up and it was over after that, had to eat it with a fork. Prices are too steep for what you get. Won't order again. read more

The old Ultima Taco on Seneca and Harlem used to be one of my favorite post-bar late night stops. They were always better than Mighty Taco. But I hadn't been there in at least 15 years and at some point they closed. Well, Ultima Taco has re-opened in a location a couple of miles from the old one, so I was in the area and had to try one. I ordered the large regular soft shell taco, just like in the old days. It was around $4.50 and was a good sized taco. And it came out quickly. Everything tasted fresh a flavorful compared to a Mighty Taco. No skimping on anything. To me, it tasted like they added refried beans to the beef mixture. I don't know if the old location did that but I don't remember thinking this back in the old days. The beef filling was tasty and not greasy. Very satisfying. FYI, there are no tables. There are seats in the waiting area, but it is take out only. I wish there were more locally owned non-chain taco stands like this to compete with the bland mediocrity of Mighty Taco and even worse, Taco Bell. I wish them luck. read more

So I live pretty much across the street and it's the 1st time in my 3+ years here that I decided to give it a try. I know it's a "taco" place but I had a craving for a chicken finger sub. Well, know for starters when ordering a sub they only have American cheese (not what I usually get but whatev) so I get there and (I didn't see the sign on the way in the 1st time...) THEY ONLY TAKE CASH! [news flash it's almost 2018 and I haven't had this problem in like 15 years!] so I get back in the car and drive to the 24 hr gas station on the corner with an atm and get cash. Annoying. I would have done so b4 hand but I didn't read that anywhere when browsing the facebook page. So I get my sub and get home (it was no longer hot) and I have to say for $8.75 the full (and only size) was smaller than I expected. I open it and it's not even cut, really? I just rip it because I'm annoyed and hungry. So on the plus side it wasn't soggy or dripping with sauce/grease etc like most. It had pretty good flavor. The bun was untoasted and soft so it's good it wasn't soggy. I didn't mind the American cheese. I'm not sure how the fingers were cooked though. They seemed crispy and freshly fried (I saw the guy microwave something then put the fingers on (I think he must have been making the sauce? But I was a bit nervous watching that hoping it wasn't the chicken) and after checking in seeing people say they have microwaved meat. All in all it was fine and since the guy making my sub did so with apparent care I'll definitely give it another try and get a taco or 2. read more

Used to go to the original Ultima taco when they were on Harlem and Seneca for years. New ultima taco is very similar to the old one. Prices are a little high and business only accepts cash which is kind of odd. Also has no dining area. Tacos are reasonably sized and have a very unique taste. Would recommend trying. read more
