I am really surprised to see all the 5-star reviews. This one star review is for horrible customer service, or lack there of, at this Ulta location. The few times I went in I received either 1. no help (was trying to get color matched but apparently it was too much to ask) OR 2. made up info on skincare to get me to buy products and/or leave them alone. The one time I received some type of help was when I asked a lady to color match me for a foundation. She was kind enough to grab a tester off the shelf (while rolling her eyes), and put some of the foundation on the back of HER hand and told me to buy it because it's the perfect match for me. (No, it was NOT my color and not even remotely close.) This whole exchange happened in 30 seconds tops. It wasn't busy at all when I went in. Sorry Ulta for being such a nuisance. I won't be back to bother your staff. There are other options in the same area--I would much rather go to Sephora or Beauty One on the same block. At least they know what they are talking about and do actually provide customer service. Seriously, I get better service in the beauty aisle at Target than at Ulta. read more

I actually loved this Ulta until my last experience. I left them a 5 star survey on a purchase. I wanted to purchase both the Tarte tinted moisturizer and the clay foundation. I've used both in the past and loved them. A guy employee with a hat walked up. Immediately I noticed his makeup looked terrible with the type of skin he had. Im bringing that up because he said he was a professional makeup artist and i was a bit confused. ANYWAYS, he offered help which I appreciated but when I asked to be color matched, he told me Tarte isn't good for my skin and he wanted to show me something better for my skin. His makeup on his skin looked terrible so 1. Why would I believe him? And 2. I loved Tarte. I told him I wanted Tarte and he continued to talk bad about it, the moisturizer doesn't have a lot of colors, it clings to dry skin. He wanted to show me something better for my skin. Didn't feel like going back and forth but I again said I'd like to purchase Tarte as I already had multiple other products in my basket. He color matched me and said I either have to go too dark or too light. The second he walked away I grabbed the one that matched and had to quickly go to the register. I'll go back to this Ulta but didn't care for this experience. read more

Don't book with Laura unprofessional! I made an Appointment over the weekend with the "manager" and on the day of my appointment three hours before I received a text that it was canceled. I called and supposedly the hairstylist said that I had called to canceled my appointment, which is a big lie!! Thank you Laura Fraser for canceling my appointment without even calling me!! either way I called twice and asked for the manager but I'm pretty sure I never spoke to the manager because I booked with him and it was a guy not a girl! I'm sure they cover for each other! very unprofessional!!! read more

In the past 2 weeks I've made a few appointments, having to change them due to my own schedule. I made an impromptu appointment this morning for the same day- only for it to be fire day! My appointment was with Sarah and despite the store needing to close early, and being worried about her own home and family she took the time to ensure I would leave happy. Thank you to Ulta corporate for caring enough about your employees and their families to ensure they could be where they were needed today. Not many corporations put their employees first- it's very nice to see! *And to the person who was upset that she couldn't go shopping today because the store was closed- get over yourself. That fire "way over there" is where people live. I can only hope if you were ever in a situation where you needed to rush home to care for home or family your employer would have enough heart to let you leave too. read more

My 3 year old daughter was begging for a haircut at 4pm today. I called many salons but none had availability but I'm so glad Kyley did when I called! She was so amazing with my daughter and made her feel like the biggest princess! My daughters hair is thick, wavy and curly so I was nervous to get it cut but I/we could not be any happier! I have no idea why I even set foot in this dump smh... the WORKERS in every ultra( not going to bother correcting autocorrect; I would rather write this long statement about not caring lol) store I've been to, this one included, have managed to absolutely ruin my shopping experience. I was consistently followed around by workers because they think I was going to steal something. The NERVE!! At this point I'm forced to believe each ultra employee undergoes a pre-employment training/brain washing session on how to stereotype a certain group of people based on the color of their skin. Very disappointing. I have never had this experience with any other store in every corner of the world - I mean that!! My friends, family and myself will continue doing business with SEPHORA instead! Liliana was my cashier and she was super nice and gave me a really good recommendation for a setting powder which I ended up loving! I came back in this Monday and she happened to be working that day as well I felt confident when asking her for a recommendation on shampoo and conditioner. When I tell you the one she recommended is amazing I mean it! My hair feels like the moisture has been restored. She really knows her stuff and is friendly and made sure that I got all the help I needed. I'll be back in for more recommendations!! read more

Updated Review: Came in looking for a full coverage foundation and Izzie at Lancôme was so patient and willing to put in the time to find me something that I would be 100% happy with. He was so helpful, removed the makeup I had for the day, redid a full face in Lancôme products...when I told him I wasn't really happy with the coverage he found me another product and applied a full face a second time. So patient and great customer service and knowledge of products. At first when I walked in, I wasn't greeted...I made it to the middle of the store and still nothing. But then I met the gem of the company, Cory. He was so helpful and went above and beyond to show me all my different options. I live in Corona and have had nothing but horrible experiences at my local Ulta, so making the drive to Temecula was definitely worth it. Thanks Cory and Izzie! See you again soon!! read more

I placed a curbside pick up order and when I arrived to the store I checked in online to let them know I arrived. I waited for over 10 minutes and nobody showed up with my order. I called the store and the lady informs me that they don't do curbside once it gets dark. It never once stated that online or on there website. I ended up having to go into the store to pick up my order. I go into the store to find 10 or more of there employees inside just standing around and doing nothing. If you want curbside service don't do it through them go somewhere else that will accommodate you during Covid-19. read more

First of all. I am very disappointed with the employees here. I walked in without makeup and wearing not fancy clothes. So I saw 3 employees look at me and walked away to say hi to another lady who has beautiful makeup and beautiful clothes on. What a good customer service that I have from this place. I tried to walk around and see who will come to help me to find my stuffs but no one came. I told myself maybe I look very poor and have no money to buy the product. So I decided to leave. I've been to this store a couple times with pretty ok service. However I ran into an issue with the manager (Laura Cameron) today when I questioned about multiple items mismarked with multiple clearance price stickers, she just removed the lower price sticker as she said it rang up at the higher price. I pointed out that it's extremely deceiving and I believed all those items should be removed and re-ticketed to reflect accurate pricing. She seem to not be too concerned. She also seemed to be reluctant at price matching with there own Ulta website since the site reflected clearance, but item rang up regular. Upon which she continued to use my phone to access NYX direct site instead of Ulta. I asked what was the issue to where she said she was just checking why it wasn't coming up in store as the sale price:/ Also I had an item to return without gift receipt that I held off returning when I was previously at that location with no issue, but I decided to hold off returning to read reviews. Anyway today I attempted return the item for store credit since I had other business there today, but they were giving me half price this time. I wouldn't have made such a big deal understandably since I didn't have the gift receipt, I would just keep it, but I persisted to push return for my $45 vs $17 since it hasn't gone on sale (Origins brand) because of all the uncomfortable unwelcoming experiences today especially since I originally talked up about Ulta and this was my mom's first introductory to this store. Made an appointment and waiting almost a half hour before being seen. I called an made a same day appointment for services at the brow bar. I arrived 10 mins early and walked around. Once it was almost time for my appointment I walked up to the brow bar. A nice gentleman asked me if he could help me and I explained that I was there for my appointment. He said he would go and get the employee who was supposed to provide my service. He comes back and explains she is at lunch and it will be a few mins. I was fine with that. I got up grabbed some things and came and sat back down. He then returned with a bottle of water and some samples and thanking me for my patience. At this point I was wondering how much longer and he says 15 mins or so. I was willing to wait because at that point I couldn't really go anywhere else and I had an event that I was headed to. Finally the girl comes out. Explains that she was helping a customer and it pushed back her lunch etc. She did my brows (they were decent but not as nice as I usually get them) and was super sweet. But the delay caused me to arrive 30mins late to my event. I feel that my situation could have been handled better and that people who have taken time to make appointments should be assisted at or near the time the appointment is set to take place. I didn't want to show my frustration at the time because I needed to get my brows done and my rule is not to be unkind to folks serving me especially when they are handling my food or my face. I am giving two stars because the benefit employee and the gentleman who was helping me were super sweet. However given my experience I won't be back in the future. I enjoy the products here but the customer service is always terrible. I came in today for a product that website said was available at this specific store. I tried to find it on my own with no luck so I just went to the register with the other products I was able to find. When I told the cashier I was unable to find a particular product she I asked if I was looking in the middle of the store... I told her yes it wasn't there and the website said it was available here at this store. She jumps straight to "I can have it ordered for you?" She didn't try to look... didn't call any team members to ask if they knew the product or check if they had it... there was no effort. She could've at least gave an explanation why the website is inaccurate. I would give less stars just for the customer service alone but the products themselves are good. This store has so many great products I could spend hours here. I love that they have small sample products to purchase so you can try them out. It's a pretty big store with plenty of parking. The customer service on the other hand is poor. There is hardly anyone on the floor if you need to ask a question about a product. When you finally are able to find someone they give you a quick answer and walk away or go back to what they are doing. It feels like you are bothering them, definitely not a good way to help sell products. The customer service is definitely better at Sephora. Won't go back to Ulta beauty when I want to try out something new. I will only go back to buy a product that I already use. read more

Ladies I got this for FREE with my $20 purchase at ULTA! I didn't even know 'till I was paying and they told me to pick out a pink or purple makeup bag. It was PACKED with goodies, and not the junk throw in the trash kind of goodies. Like full size ULTA brand mascara, eyebrow shaping gel, lip gloss, primer, $5 coupon, etc., etc. The staff was very nice although they were understaffed at the time I went in Around 4:30 PM (Nobody was readily available on the floor to help me-they were all busy with other customers) and the store was out of the color I needed in various brands of eyebrow pencils. After waiting in a long line, I got to my car to find out I paid $24 for an empty box. I immediately walked back into the store and let the associate that helped me know, she instructed me to get a new one and return to the counter and that she would help me. I did just that and instead she told me to get in the back of the line which had doubled by this point, like wrapped into the aisle. I got in the back of the line then was called back up for another associate to help... who then walked away. So at this point I lost my spot in the line and had 4 more people in front of me. I tried to order online and pick up in store only to be disappointed and spoken to rudely. I placed the order at 7:30 in the morning and tried to pick it up at 2 o'clock only to be told that they didn't start filling online orders until the evening. On top of that they said they would not honor the online price and that my order would ring up more expensive in the store. I asked to speak to the manager and she was extremely rude. I usually go to Sephora but wanted to try Ulta. I've only been to 1 Ulta ever and that was years ago. There was no one to be found to help answer questions for me. Every associate I did find was busy with someone else. I asked brief questions and they just kind of verbally direct me to wherever I would find the product I was looking for. Only one person (didnt get her name since I didn't see a name tag) was able to help me and helped explain some products. There were only 2 people at check out and the line was kind of long. I had a horrible experience in this store. A woman came in and I noticed her because she tried to cut the 20 people long line when she walked in for a return. She wasn't wearing a mask. The employee said shouldn't couldn't come in without one. The employee asked do you have an exemption with you? The lady said no. The employee said well I can't let you in. The last said I spoke with a manager on the phone. The employee asked who. I don't know was her reply, a man. Do you know his name, asked the employee. No says the lady. I was at the counter and said as I have to take care of elderly people I don't feel comfortable with her being allowed in the store. The got the manager Lauren working on Sunday November 29, 2020. Wholied and told me she did have an exemption. But I heard the whole exchange. She did not. But she lied to my face. When the unmasked woman came out of no where with a phone in my face to verbally assault me. I kindly told her I wasn't speaking to you nor do I want to. I am speaking to the management about the situation. Lauren didn't ask the lady to move from where she approached me, instead she told ME the black woman to leave. I love makeup and replace my makeup often!! However, this ulta is very hit or miss. I often run to very rude employees one of which was a MANAGER! When I Called and talked to the manager above her, she was very nice but I doubt anything was done about it. I got the, she's had a hard day. I'm sorry but just having a hard day doesn't excuse the way I was treated by this "manager" twice. There are some very nice employees but the times I run into rude and disrespectful employees really have put a bad taste in my mouth. First time here getting my hair colored & highlights with Laura & she was perfect. She informed me at the beginning of the consultation what she was going do and also along the way, making sure I was comfortable. My hair came out exactly as she said it would with subtle highlights not too much, as I wanted it to look like the sun kissed it. Come one come all you won't be disappointed Laura is great, she listens, is understanding.
