I've been an Ulta Beauty customer since 2011, because they great hair products but cheaper than at salons. Love their occasional big pump sale for shampoo. Also, they offer great prices with Clinique and other cosmetic brands. Ulta Beauty moved to their bigger and brighter new location at 132nd & Aurora between Amazon Fresh and Planet Fitness. Hopefully they will have better foot traffic here versus their former isolated spot of what remained of the former Northgate Mall. Lots of products, piercing services, makeup stations, and a larger salon. Friendly and helpful staff. I was happy to find my favorite shampoo from France! The Homie found a volumizing hair trial kit too. Plus I was able to use my 20% discount, even better. Glad this location is closer to home. Just pack your patience though as the shared parking lot can be a bit packed. Note: the cash registers are towards the middle of the store, not by the entrance. There is onsite security and curbside pickup. This area is becoming a bit more gentrified and less sketchy. read more

Laticia Hearne did an outstanding makeover for me. I cut off all of my long brown hair and needed a new look with my silvery, gray, black buzz cut. Laticia was so chill, really a wonderful human being. She was so kind and lovely and made me feel beautiful. She never once pressured me to purchase product; I easily purchased 1/2 of what she used on my face. It was really fun getting made up and I appreciate her talents. I have such a different look right now, I am staring at my reflection in the mirror and I love her ability to get rid of my dark eye circles and smokey eyes. I wish I could give her a thousand stars. Customer service is a hit or miss here. The first time I came here, I had the best experience. The sales clerk (beauty clerk??) was helpful and engaging. She answered my questions, opened products for me to try, gave me pointers and helped me locate a bronzer/highlighter/blush trio that fit my needs. The second time I came in.. it was a very lackluster experience. Employees were not friendly or cordial. I wanted to try this eyeliner gel pencil but they didn't have a tester so, I asked the sales clerk if she had a tester in stock- of which she responded "if it's not out there, then no". It wasn't until I asked if she can make the one I'm holding a tester that she complied. She offered very low to mediocre assistant and did not seem like she wanted to help me. read more

I really like this new Ulta. The has an entirely different feel than other Ultas I have visited, where I would feel intimidated if I took too much of a salesperson's time. The store is shiny and bright and the salespeople are accessible. They take their time and will make you feel as if your needs are as important as anyone else's. I have visited twice; once was the first day and Kyann helped me. She is warm and lovely and shocked me by remembering and approaching me when I came back 3 weeks later. The managers that I met, Trish and Morgan, were calm and gracious even when the store was busy and did not make me feel bad for taking time with a somewhat complicated transaction. The parking is easier than at their previous Northgate location, and the store is more convenient for other shopping you may have to do, not a destination location as the Northgate store was. I was also helped, briefly, by Mayrin on my last visit and she worked very hard to get me just what I needed even though I wasn't sure myself. All around I am very happy with the parking, the location, and, mostly, the attitude of the employees at this new Ulta. read more

Curbside pickup experience was TERRIBLE. Clicked the link and let them know I'd be there in 15 min. Checked in when I arrived at the designated parking spot. No one came out. Finally went in, waited in line, and told the counter I'd been outside. She didn't really care. The woman just went to the back and got my order (wasn't even queued up). And then ONE OF THE ITEMS WAS OPENED. The seal had clearly been broken. I told her and she didn't say anything, just looked annoyed and went to the section and gave me a new one. First off love the location, now I don't have to drive all the way to northgate to go to Ulta. I went on a late night trip for some shampoo and all the staff, even the security guard were very friendly (even it being late at night). They made my experience pleasant by helping me find a couple products that I wanted last minute and couldn't find. They were collected, gentle and I could tell they cared about doing a good job. I unfortunately only remember the name of Tara who checked me out but the other two employees (tall man with nice skin, girl that just clocked out with prefect eyeliner/foundation and the security guard) were just as fantastic. read more

The reply from Ulta to my original post is a lie. I was told that the promo gift was never available for my purchase, and no Ulta had it as it was a previous month's gift. The promo should have had a fine print telling purchasers that it's an online only deal if that were the case. Don't lie. read more

I went in earlier today probably about 45 minutes after this Ulta opened with my fiance because she wanted to ask about prices and any avaliable stylist within the following week. Trish the store operations manager was so rude, sarcastic, passive aggressive towards my fiance and spoke to her like a child. We are both mixed race black people and when Trish saw us she literally said " Ooooohh ugh, turned around to walk but stopped turner around and the crap show begun. Why? Why such poor horrible treatment ?? Do something about your staff! read more

The service is wonderful, although most of the workers there aren't wearing uniforms or name tags so I can't tell who works there or not. It scares me when they ask if I need help, because I thought they were regular customers, and most of the people that work there happen to be really tall, and people over 6 ft tall scare me. I love coming here, but it's hard to leave with any money left in my wallet. I always find more than one thing that I want, and it's expensive so the cost adds up quick. The employees were kind enough to help me find out what the tax for all my items were before I went to checkout. read more

This location is by far one of the worst Ulta locations. I went recently to purchase a couple of products and was immediately followed around by one of the employees (white younger man). He followed incredibly closely to the point where I felt uncomfortable being there. While this man and the security were following me (a long time Ulta Beauty customer) around, two white men walked into the store and grabbed a handful of items and ran right out. The two individuals who stole were moving erratically upon entering the store; if the security and the employee focused their energy on properly assessing each individual who walked in instead of instantly racially profiling, they would've been able to do their job that day. Ulta needs to seriously revaluate their hiring process at this location and hire the right staff to protect their merchandise and their customer relationships. read more

I love Ulta, however one of the sales associates at the Aurora store is honestly insanely rude and has no idea wtf she is even talking about. In was in there a few weeks ago to buy a new Benefit #2 eye brown pencil which they were out of - the gal that was helping me stated the #2.5 is basically the same and said it would match well with my hair color and was absolutely wrong! The 2.5 is significantly darker and looks ridiculous. I was in again today and there she was again, giving a big ass attitude when she asked if I needed help, to which I responded that I was looking for a brush set and it's looked like they were out of the Morphe set and she says in a very bitchy tone...."why not elf, you want elf?!" I told her I didn't like her attitude and I'd get what I need in my own. Clearly she has no idea what's in the store because there was an entire end cap of Morphe brush sets at the register which she failed to tell me about when I specifically asked for that set. She's on some sort of power trip and doesn't have a damn clue. I spend a lot of money at that store and going forward if I even see her working, I will walk out. read more

Do not trust the salon services. I booked a blonding service and discussed the plan for products and techniques to be used with the stylist, Rachel. I was expecting a cool, soft blonde, and I ended up with a brassy, untoned, over processed, yellow mess with dark roots. She then told me that she added another coloring product to my roots without asking me because she thought that it would look good, even though it was in complete contrast with what I had asked for and what we had discussed, and I would have not agreed to her putting it in my hair if I had been asked. She also told me that purple shampoo would get some of the brassiness of the roots out, but failed to tell me that she had used both dye on my roots and lightener in my hair, and that if I washed it when I got home, that dye would rise out and dye the yellow part a weird patchy orange. They offered to rebook an appointment to fix my hair, but I obviously declined as I do not trust a stylist who is going to use products on my hair that I didn't agree to. If you're going to use another stylist at the salon, at least see if you can get a look at their portfolio or other work they have done, because my stylist claimed to be really into Blonding, yet was a frantic mess, and could not handle it at all. I went in to the salon, excited to treat myself and get my hair done, as it is something I had not done in a really long time, and I left, feeling terrible about my experience and unhappy with the way my hair now looks, which is of course the last thing you want, when you get your hair done. I am very disappointed and disgusted at the quality of the hair care treatment I was given. read more
