Great store layout with plenty of choices for hair, nails, fragrance, skin, make up, etc. they carry a ton of different brands and employees are super helpful in pointing you in the right direction. They consistently send out coupons and have a great reward program, so I try to come when deals are available because regular prices are higher than buying on line. Love the salon and it's really easy to get a same day appointments! My only complaint is sometimes they move you around and the stylists all have different prices so sometimes it's a surprise when you get to the register- not cool. Today I went in to return a product and look for a new blush and I was approached by an older man working the floor named Bryan and I over heard him mocking me previously talking to another employee about "I don't know what she expects, there's light and then there's dark", but I was looking for a specific shade and I wasn't finding it. So he came over after I agreed with the lady helping me that this wasn't what I was looking for and he approached me after she walked away with a nasty attitude and facial expression asking me "what is it that you want" and it was the rudest interaction I've experienced here and upset me to the point of leaving the store immediately. I always come here to grab essentials and typically the staff are so nice but not this time. I wore headphones so I can listen to my music while I shop and was testing foundations to find one I liked but apparently it causes suspicion. Not only was I approached by at least 4 of the staff members in my 30 min at Ulta but one of them "bumped" me kicking me while I was knelt down and then apologized, there was a ton of space behind me yet she kicked my back? Awful awful awful!!! I brought both of my daughters here tonight for a haircut. Corinne did them both and they are both horrible! I am so heartbroken for my girls. I watched her cut my first daughters hair, who has very thick curly hair. I knew it was bad while I was watching her, she did not check the length or make sure it was even on both sides at all! I didn't realize how horrible it was until I got home. She didn't even dry her hair completely, and put some kind of product in it that felt like Palmade. There are long pieces underneath, the front is very uneven, it was cut way too short. I asked for just below the shoulder and she cut it ABOVE the shoulder. It's supposed to be an A line Bob. This is extremely disappointing. My oldest was up second, I asked for a TRIM, the back to be a straight across and some light face framing layers. Should have been a super easy cut. The back is uneven, the front is choppy, and uneven... And Again her hair was sticky and gross when we left, and not fully dry. I had to rewash and dry both of them. I have never seen such poor work! If you care for your hair or your children's, I would strongly urge you to go somewhere else, or at least do not use this stylist. She was lazy and very clearly did not know what she was doing. read more

Faviola gave me a perfect, gorgeous haircut and treatment! The prices are great but the SERVICE!!! Everyone is so friendly, respectful and kind. I walked around and asked for some advice on product and found the most knowledgeable, friendly, honest staffers I've ever encountered in retail. Bree and Kyle led me to some amazing products that suited my needs and wants. I will absolutely be back to this location!!!! Well, they do carry the product and i am aware of this, but they just didn't have it at this location. Why not just say this??? Do you feel like you're so above me that im not even worth any sort of explanation? I think that this saturday morning opening team needs an attitude check. I worked at ulta for several years and moved on last fall, I know what it takes to do the job and these people were falling behind. It's alright, I never have problems but I also rarely need help, I usually order online and pickup in store. For a few years though it has seemed like they are severely understaffed at all times. I've never not seen a line at checkout and I rarely see an associate on the floor even when I'm looking for one to point me to a correct section. The employees also always seem to have that overworked and overly apologetic for being a human being that exists in the same space as you vibe that retail people get when too much is asked from them. So I'm assuming the corporate structure is not great and the employees aren't empowered to do anything in a way that makes them feel good about their job and also is good for the customer. So great for pickups, you will have to stand in line, not so good if you want recommendations and help with what you want to buy. read more

I read the reviews before going, and had never been in an Ulta before. I am surprised I bothered going in, after seeming all the terrible reviews, but I'm glad I did. I was looking to grab a couple of things, and since there is so much selection in the store I decided I better ask for help, to avoid wasting time trying to find what I needed on my own. Based on all the reviews about rude service, I braced myself as I approached one of the girls working on the floor (there were several throughout the store -- super easy to find someone to ask for help). I approached the one closest to me, Naomi, and she was super friendly and helpful. I ended up telling her about my horrible experience at Super Cuts across the way, and how I had walked out on them -- and she said ""you should have come here!". I told her I didn't realize that Ulta had a salon, but that if they had time I would love to book with them. She immediately called over staff from the salon, who came over to see what I wanted to do, and then immediately hooked me up for a booking with 15 mins. Martha did my hair and she was very sweet and did a great job -- I wanted my hair curled for an event I was going to that evening. All in all, the stop here exceeded my expectations. NOTE: I told them about the reviews and she said that people are mixing up their location with the mall location. Seriously the worst Ulta store I have ever shopped. I had full intentions of spending a couple hundred dollars or more. Walked in and noticed that the store was much smaller compared to other Ulta locations I have shopped. Not a big deal - I come from a beach city in SoCal where real estate is pricey, so I'm used to small stores. You would think since the store is small, they would figure out how to maximize the space they have. The organization of the store seemed a bit off compared to other Ulta locations. I was looking for a particular brand of makeup. So I look at the signs along the wall for the brand I was looking to purchase. The brand was not there! This is a large name brand that I just purchased from another Ulta location a few weeks ago. So I then began walking up and down every aisle in the store just trying to see what brands were available. Lots of products were all mixed up on the shelves. I had to pick up a product, read the label, and compare the label to the posted price tags just to figure out the prices of products. The sale section has lots of products that did not even have the sale price stickers on them. I spent a good 20 minutes in this store, wandering the aisles looking for what I wanted and not one employee asked if I needed help. Sadly, due to the lack of interest by the Ulta employees here, they lost out on my purchase. I mean, I was obviously looking for something for a good 20 minutes in this store and not once did a worker ask if they could help me find what I was looking for. Very poor service. I am seeing other reviewers who said they think they got bad service because they did not have makeup on when they were shopping in the store. Well, I had on a full face of makeup and was using my luxury handbag, so I don't think your appearance in the store has much to do with the service that you receive. I'm not a regular Ulta shopper. I've been in an Ulta one other time before this visit. My daughter (12) wanted to get her eyebrows waxed and this place was recommended to us by one of her friends. Their website said walk-ins were fine, but upon our arrival we were told it would be a thirty minute wait. We went ahead and scheduled an appointment for the following day. And than walked around the store for a while. The next day, Corinne did the waxing. She was knowledgeable and talked my daughter through her first experience with having her eyebrows waxed. Overall, a great first experience for her! Everyone in the store was super friendly. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the store. I wish I could remember the name of the guy that helped and greeted us, because he was awesome! He wasn't pushy, just super happy and helpful. My daughter is just starting out with makeup and he was so patient and kind while he helped her pick out colors. Great store with great employees! read more

I always feel disappointed when I leave this store. The employees are always so rude and they act as though customers are an inconvenience. I personally have not had an encounter with the manager but I have been present when people have asked for her. I really am unsure how the manager keeps her job given how she speaks to people. In the future, I'll save myself the disappointment and head to the other location further from home. It's worth the higher level of customer service. read more

I had the worst hair experience of my life at this Ulta. The girl that did my hair used a 30 N or something like that, that was really strong, and left it on my hair for too long. She was really rough combing my hair out and when I asked her if she had a brush she replied "oh they haven't been cleaned and we've been looking for another one all day." She had another client arrive and was talking to them as she was coming out my hair, and not paying attention to what she was doing. I ended up brushing out my hair myself because she was hurting me so bad. When I looked at the comb that she had used, I couldn't believe HOW MUCH of my hair was pulled/fell out. I can't imagine the amount of hair that came off in the foils that she used, well actually I can, because about half of the thickness of my hair is now gone. I didn't even get a blow dry. Although, I think if she had done anything else to my hair it would have fallen out completely. To make up for this, I got a free condition, a free haircut, and a discount on products that I needed because of her ruining my hair. When I look in the mirror I want to cry (and have) It took me three years to grow my hair out, and three hours for her to fry half of it off. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a salon, ever. And the most damaged my hair has ever been. She started with foils on the back of my head and up to the top, like a mowhawk, did the right side and the left side. This is why I have lost so much hair on the back of my head. First I want to confirm that this review is for the store on Signal Butte and Baseline. I was having a blah kind of day so I decided I would treat myself and buy all new makeup. Having just moved here from a small town I have never been in an Ulta but I didn't know what brand of makeup I wanted so I wanted to shop at a place that had the reputation of pushy sales people who would try to sell me things. Instead I came here... I walked in at about 3:20 on a Friday and left just a couple minutes shy of 4 o'clock. When I walked in I was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff and thought 'good thing there's sales associates' In the time I was there I was not greeted even once, I couldn't even get the two assoc on the floor to make eye contact with me. The younger girl was too busy stocking and actively avoided looking at me. The male on the floor was too busy bragging about his new promotion to be bothered. Until they both assisted other customers who entered the store after me. I found a hair brush I liked and a mascara so after over 30 minutes of being ignored while I wandered cluelessly browsing makeup I decided to cut my losses and just get those. Standing in line to check out, there is one register open and already helping someone, one lady behind her, then me. Should be pretty quick right? No, the answer is no. While I stood there feeling dejected because I really needed some retail therapy there was a group of 3 women behind the registers not in use, laughing and chatting. At that point I set down the two items I had managed to pick at the register in front of them asking if I could just leave them there. One of the girls asked if I wasn't going to get them and I explained that I'd been ignored the entire 30+ minutes and them laughing and hanging out was just too much so I was leaving. At that point one of the ladies rudely said they work in the salon so couldn't help (how would I know that?? I've literally never been there) I replied I couldn't have known that but the entire experience was horrible so I wouldn't be purchasing anything. As I walked out the lady that had been in line in front of me kindly let me know there's a Sephora next door in Kohl's. I love Ulta and I'm a credit card member due to loving Ulta. I used a gift card today for my birthday. The girl Adeline with blonde hair asked others if they needed help and never asked me. I did need help deciding on a product so I went to her and she started to walk away till I said "excuse me". I felt like she was trying to avoid me. She obviously has an issue profiling the people she "thinks" might be to poor to buy the expensive brands. Could be cause I was wearing my fiancé's Star Wars shirt and over dressed way down. But you perceived wrong Adeline, I'm not poor, just ask my fiancé, I spend to much money all the time on my entire household (2 teens and a baby). We live well. Made an appt for 3pm and received a call 2 hours later and asked if I could come in at 2:30 instead. I arrived at 2:25 and 2 employees were at the register trying to navigate the new computer system. I was eventuall acknowledged and told my hairdresser would be with me shortly. There is no waiting area so I waited at the counter...10 minutes later they told me I could sit over where the dryers were. I sat and waited another 15 minutes with no communication from anyone (by this time there were 3 employees working on the register). I got up at began to walk out, walking right past the 2 employees talking with other Ulta employees, and looking right at me, no one said anything as I left and I went the Great Clips and got a haircut. read more
