Parking is a little tight outside of this store on the weekends. My friend and I walked in and there were maybe three ladies working the counter. We walked throughout the store a few times for at least 20 mins without ever being asked for assistance. One bonus about this store is that they have a wide selection of beauty products and the physical space to walk around. The make up testers looked really dirty. Their stock was low in certain items. My friend wanted a lotion, but didn't see it in a box...only the tester. She took the information down to purchase it online. While my friend was waiting in line, I found a cell phone lying on a stand with no one around it. I took it to the front counter and let them know I found a cell phone. The lady I handed it to looked at me as if I was crazy. She didn't make any attempt to find the owner as there were several people in the store. I thought maybe she would ask patrons. I asked a couple of people that walked near me. Hopefully someone will claim it. She just tossed it on the back counter. The beeping...there was an incessant beep near the perfume. No one in the staff would turn it off. At one point, two items started beeping. A guy and I both looked at each other when the second set of beeps started. Yep, time to leave. On the way out a staff member asked if I needed help. Actually Yes! I flagged my friend down to get assistance for her lotion, but to no avail...they didn't have it in stock. When it was my friend's turn to check out, the lady screamed next and said little to nothing after. My friend said the exchange was cold. I will probably go back maybe during the week or to just window shop.

Fragrances are all locked up

I never walk into this location expecting a quick and smooth visit-- you will be in the checkout line for a good 15 minutes on a non busy day. No sense of urgency whatsoever, it is frustrating. They have now locked up every fragrance they have to offer including testers. I left and drove to Sephora on the other half of the friendly center. I do not appreciate having an associate right by my side to smell ... fragrances. If theft is an issue, don't sell it. Another thing I have noticed is when product isn't stocked on the floor, they will tell you they're out-- if you turn around and place an online order for pickup, they 'magically' have the product in stock.

How my hair looked when I got home.

Friendly Center Ulta. Paid $115 to walk out of the salon with my hair looking like this. Booked a trim and deep conditioning service. While sitting in the side chairs the "elite" stylist was going back and forth with me about what she could do with my hair because she couldn't be late for her next hair appt because that client had an appt that she couldn't be late for. This conversation was over another client getting her hair done and stylist which was kind of embarrassing. She told me she had to add on a detangling fee before she even touched my hair. I have fine hair of medium density. It didn't need "detangling." Took only 5 minutes to comb down from my ponytail. I assume she thought it would take longer because she saw a black women with her curly hair in a top pony. Mind you, she "detangled" it dry. Won't go more into that. IFYKYK! The wash and condition was of average service. She cut off more than I anticipated, approx 4-5 inches, but I'm not exactly that upset about that. For sure, I knew I needed about 3 inches cut from the longest parts. Just concerned she didn't show me what she thought needed to be cut to make sure I was ok with it. While walking out, I saw she added on a blow dry fee. This is crazy while I'm walking out with my hair looking like this. She only used the comb attachment which is why it's not sleek. I was surprised because I assumed most salons will use the brush blow dry technique. I didn't challenge anything she was doing because she was so concerned about not being late for her next client. I wasn't necessarily looking for a style but at least for $115, I would expect a sleek blow dry to walk out with. Total time there was 1 hr 18 min. When I got home, I had to put a little oil on my hair and use my Revlon brush blow dryer to sleek it out a little so I didn't look like I put my finger in an electrical socket. Soooooo disappointing!!!! :(

Today, I stopped by the Ulta salon for a makeup appointment with Mikayla. I needed help determining which shades of red lipstick match my skin tone. I have been stymied for some time over which colors work best for my fair skin. When I arrived, Mikayla asked me what I was looking to accomplish during the appointment. She listened to me and asked relevant questions. After a short time where she found various red lip options, we got started. By the time the appointment ended, I had 3 new colors, and I understood which skin tone I have and what type of colors I should wear in the future. I really appreciate Mikayla helping me so diligently today. She is a real asset to Ulta.

Love that they are enforcing social distancing and monitoring how many people are coming in and out. Once you enter they have arrows to help you move about the store and sales associates are available and eager to help you find what you are looking for. I definitely will continue to visit this location and hope they continue to make everyone feel safe.

After moving to NC from Los Angeles, I had the most unprofessional and inhumane experience ever at this salon, leaving me stuck with extensions I dislike and $1,000 poorer. Lindsey, a young stylist in training, installed my extensions. She had previously done my hair under supervision with great results, so I trusted her again. I paid $906 for 24" Hot Heads in medium brown (#3), which had always matched my hair perfectly. However, when the hair arrived, it looked much darker. I asked if she was sure it was the correct color, and she insisted it was the same, just longer. After installation, the extensions were clearly much darker than my natural medium brown hair. Lindsey said the color would lighten after a wash. It didn't. After a week, my hair still looked black, while my natural hair was brown (see photos). I called the salon, and Lindsey admitted Hot Heads had sent the wrong color. She offered two options: wait until January for the correct length and color or switch to the Babe brand in the same length and color. I confirmed over the phone that I wanted the exact same color and 24" length. Lindsey reassured me this was possible and even said she'd pay for the replacement extensions herself, as the salon owner wouldn't help. Embarrassed by how bad my hair looked, I agreed to the Babe extensions. When the new extensions arrived, the color blended better, but the length was noticeably shorter than 24". I asked Lindsey why, and she claimed she didn't know, as she had ordered 24". When she compared the Hot Heads extensions to the Babe ones, the new ones were about 3" shorter. I was livid. I paid nearly $1,000 for extensions to add length and ended up with hair barely longer than my natural hair. Lindsey said she'd try to resolve it with Hot Heads but doubted anything could be done. She then offered to resell me extensions at a salon discount. After already spending $1,000, I refused to pay more and just wanted what I had initially paid for. Lindsey told me to text her directly, not the salon, because the owner was rude and had caused her to lose clients. She claimed he was retiring soon and that she was trying to ensure I had the best service. After texting her for updates and receiving no response, I contacted Hot Heads directly. They were willing to fix the issue if the salon opened a claim. However, when Hot Heads called the salon, Lindsey was "unavailable." Frustrated, I went to the salon in person. Lindsey was there, but before I could speak, the owner came out yelling. He claimed the salon had ordered the wrong color and length, directly contradicting what Lindsey told me. He then accused me of agreeing to shorter extensions, which was untrue--I have text messages proving Lindsey promised 24" extensions. The owner became aggressive, pushed me, threatened to call the police, and began recording me. This entire experience has been horrific. I now have extensions I dislike, which are the same length as my natural hair, and am out $1,000. Do not go to this salon. Their negative reviews are filtered, but if you dig deeper, you'll see similar horror stories. I wish I had.
