With all my great experiences here lately it's time to upgrade a star. The biggest change here is they now have an aesthetician! I came here to check this out on Friday with a 60 minute facial. This was not my first facial, I've had them at various places (spas, another ulta etc.). I have to say this was one of the best! It was very relaxing, I loved the products used, and my skin came out great! I even got a free gift at checkout! On top of this in recent times the customer service here has been great! You'll even find the manager on the floor giving recommendations and chipping in! If they don't have something in stock they will order it and ship to your house for free. The products arrive super fast! There is everything from low end to high end products here. Came to this Ulta today to take advantage of their $20 hair cuts for breast. I had Taylor and she was a amazing. She was so sweet and really figured out what I wanted my hair too look like. She also answered all my questions about hair. I even left with a product I would never even have tried if it wasn't for her. I would definitely come back to her again. I feel very uneasy about this review, but here it goes. This is in regards to the salon, not the store/its stock itself. I got a sunday appointment for makeup and a blowout (very few salons are open on Sunday, so I was very thankful for that). They were running behind so re-booked me with another person for 1/2 of my service which is 100% fine. The blowout was a bit of a fail - they didnt ask what I wanted for the final product (was looking for more volume and big curls. They have this in the brochure). The end product - my normal stick straight hair with a little bit of volume. I could have saved 40 bucks and the heat damage and allowed my hair to air-dry. On to the makeup. She asked a few basic questions - what kind of skin type I have, if I wanted mascara, what color range I wanted for eyeshadow. Again, didn't really ask the overall look I was going for and even though I had inspo pics, I wasn't asked about them. The foundation, concealer, brows, and bronzer were great - she picked the colors out like a champ and they looked exactly how i wanted. However, the eyeshadow was VERY dark (I was looking for a natural look) and it had VERY harsh lines - im talking it looked like a stamp of color went on my face. I asked her to blend it a little more and she tried but to no avail. The eyeliner was very thick and uneven. For the lips, she picked a gorgeous color, but the application was not great. She attempted to overline the lips without lip liner, so it was wavy and uneven. In the end, i looked somewhat like a stripper with such dark makeup. I would have asked her to fix it (which is why I feel uneasy, she most certainly would have if i had asked), but the appointment was an hour longer than intended and I was late for the event (the reason why I was getting my makeup done). So i went home and blended the eyeshadow and redid the lipstick, as well as evened out the eyeliner and put on more mascara. In the end it looked great, but im not sure it was worth the cost or getting as upset as I was when i left the salon. read more

From a man's Prospective ....I was looking for someone do cut my hair. I heard a lot about Megan b so I made appointment with her and I was very impressed. She took her time and you could really tell she enjoyed her job a and getting to know people. Most people don't know they do hair cuts....even for men so I am going to send a little email, comment to corporate and tell them they need outdoor advertising like a small sign. A month ago I got my son (3yo) hair cut at Great Clips...it ended in a lopsided nightmare. I'm thankful we have since found Austin. He cut my son's hair today and not only was he super patient, gentle, and reassuring...but his hair actually looks like the photo I brought as an example. THAT NEVER HAPPENS! Austin also cut my hair. My hair was a complete nightmare, ive been box dying my hair black for years and wanted to get blonde highlights. I'm an extremely stubborn person and I wasn't wanting to wait to get my hair done but austin suggested that I go home and do some treatments to get the best results, he is extremely persuasive and just brilliant. I'm in LOVE with how my hair looks. Austin is the best stylist I've ever gone to by far. I came out feeling on top of the world. I'm so happy I took his suggestions and trusted in him with my hair. I just walked into one of your stores step a few steps into the store and was told the first hour was ONLY for compromised people and elderly which I completely understand but the girl was absolutely rude and nasty talking to me and NEVER once asked if I was a compromised person (I have health issues along the lines of asthma). Good start, Sad ending. I recently started shopping here b/c the aging process is catching up to me. I've found 2 associates who have been very helpful in picking out products that are right for me. They've also been great at allowing returns if something doesn't work out. There were a few associates who'd roll their eyes at my questions & make fun of me behind my back. They thought I couldn't hear & I let it slide. I was approached by a stylist from the salon one day, asking if he could help. He was so GREAT with advice, that I booked a $269 full highlight w/him! He told me the cut, blowout, & style were all included in the $269 full highlight cost. When I had to call in to reschedule, I spoke with someone else who told me the cut was $77 and the olaplex the store automatically adds to the color is also an additional cost. I only needed a trim & had I known this was a separate charge I would've gotten my hair cut at Valenti for much less. I did not like the fact that I was not told this upfront by the stylist himself. He even convinced me to apply for their store credit card. He explained how regular hair services basically earn you enough points to pay for a lot of your products. At time of hair appointment, I walked in with blonde hair mixed with gold, yellow & brassy tones & 4" long dirty blonde roots. I walked out as a full dirty blonde. Great job at blending my roots but there were no highlights to be found. I kept asking him during the process if it would lighten up any more? He assured me it would, " it was just dark in that area." I called him back the next day to speak with him directly. I apologized b/c I didn't want to hurt his feelings & kindly expressed my unhappiness with how dark my hair turned out. He offered to fix this & got me in that same day. Great! All is good! As I sat down in the chair he immediately starts giving me reasons as to why he did my hair the way he did. He kept telling me this is the lightest level of blonde (10) & that he could see the highlights just fine. I wasn't even questioning him. He speaks so fast & so loudly that others were starting to stare at me. As he went on as & on basically telling me my request for highlights (as shown in previous pic of me) was Platinum blonde & would be an entire color change. As he helped at me tossing my hair all around, he was making it look like I was the bratty client who'd never be satisfied no matter what he did and that he was doing everything right & what was best for my hair. I told him I appreciated that, but he knew when I came in & showed him pics of myself with full highlights in the past, just how blonde I wanted to go. He said, "I'm the stylist not you." Yes, I'm the customer purchasing a product of my choosing & was sold a completely different product the seller liked more. I asked him multiple times to stop yelling at me & just do as we discussed on the phone. He wouldn't let it go! So a manager listening in offered to just give me a full refund & we called it a day. Nice guy but unnecessarily defensive when this was a simple fix & I wasn't even mad. I wasn't looking for a lecture & that's just what I got. read more

The store was busy yesterday, the staff hovered in the middle yelling at customers do you need help. Then when walking around they come up to you ask if you need anything as if you are attempting to steal. While Inwas on the other side by the OTC products not one staff member over there to help you. I had to go back to middle where they were all hanging out. I spend 100 every time I come in. The products are always out of stock. I will have to continue to order online. Good thing is they are carrying MAC/ Fentty Bequity , but very low on products.. It was not a good experienc. read more

A female friend of mind asked me to go by the store to pick up something since I was in the area. I did and went to check out. The girl asked me for a phone number and I told her that I did not know it and I don't want to give it out anyway. As guy, they really did not need my phone number. They think if they yell hello to you as you arrive (like Moe's) and when you leave that you will forgive the pathetically low stock of for example OPI nail polish and the fact that you can wander around for a while and no one will ever help you find anything. Disappointed. Usually when I go into this Ulta I get really good customer service. Last time I walked in I got a very snobby girl who I did not get the name of - (brown hair, pale skin) at the checkout trying to tell me that the self tanner I use is not good. She continued to ramble about the self tanner that she liked and how it was so much better than the one that I was purchasing (Loving Tan). It was very rude and when I continued to tell her I was a fan of Loving Tan she gave me attitude. Somebody needs to teach this girl how to be polite. End of story. read more

Went in there when first coming to the area for a job offer and went in for a new look and she worked so hard to make sure I was happy with the cut, not only that she stayed open later than store hours just to make sure I was happy with my hair! NEVER COME HERE, I requested for bangs that reached my nose and my hair dresser cut right about my eyes. But I was ok with it, BUT EVEN WORSE she cut my sisters hair who was long hair. She asked for her hair to be cut .5 inches off but turns out she ended up cutting at least 3-4 inches off which is ridiculous. read more

I was treated rather rudely by a worker at the register when I said I wanted to use two gift cards I have for the transaction. He was rather rude and treated me like I was putting him out and I was stupid. I will from now on be going to the ulta in Mason because their workers are much kinder.
