My wedding day surely would not have been as beautiful as it was without the fabulous artists behind Brideface! From start to finish - Julie was friendly, progressional, and helpful. I had no issues initially booking for my date (about a year in advance) - and I was even able to make adjustments to my total number of attendees up until the final payment was due (about a month before the big day). We scheduled my hair/makeup trials in July - which seemed a bit far out from our November wedding day at first, but actually ended up being perfect! There's so much running around that happens within the month leading up to the big day, that it was nice to have this all taken care of well in advance. I worked with Alli for hair and Jasmine for makeup - and they were both absolutely incredible! Not only were they masters of their respective crafts - but they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. It was also so nice to already have made a connection with both of them during the trials - because it made seeing them both the day of the wedding like re-connecting with an old friend. We ended up hiring an additional hairstylist/makeup artist for the day of the wedding as well - which I highly recommend if you have a larger wedding party/group of family getting ready. If we hadn't brought in the additional assistance - we would've had to begin getting ready much earlier. I wanted to find the best makeup artist in town for my wedding day. So after some research, I booked Nancy with Brideface. Let me just tell you that it was a great decision. My husband told me I looked like I could be in a magazine when he saw Nancy's airbrushing skills. And those lashes! They are individually applied - and she put a ton of those suckers on me. After the wedding day, I was very gentle with my lashes when I washed my face, and they stayed on for almost a week! I trekked through Italy with those things on - that's how well she applied them. Plus, she made my eyebrows look better than ever. Don't be afraid to let her play with color - I had bright red lips for my engagement shoot and fuchsia lips for my wedding day - and they photographed beautifully! The only regret that I have is that I didn't end up using Nancy before the boudoir shoot I did for my husband, since it was last minute. Penny is not only a phenomenal makeup artist with a penchant for making people look their most gorgeous, she is also such a great person and a joy to have around on the day-of. Myself, my mother, sister, and maid-of-honor all had the pleasure of having Penny glam us up for the big day and all I can saw is WOW. My mother never felt more radiant, my sister oozed sass, and my MOH, who never wears makeup, was so incredibly beautiful that I actually teared up when I saw her. And me?? I think I will remember this always. I went to my tailor to get details on a dress for my friend, and I had managed to finally bring in my wedding album so she could see how her alterations went. Anyway, there were a few people in there, and when they opened it up, they said, "what a beautiful couple: it looks like that one person . . . . Umm, that Kate-England-Royal-Person." I laughed a little because originally it was pretty clear that they did not think that this girl was me. I waited for the light bulb to click (there were 30 pgs, although in fairness I am 10 lbs heavier, and I was rushing around looking with no makeup looking like a house marm). When they put three and 85 together, and worked out the girl in the wedding book was me, they asked if Kate Middleton and I were related. Honestly it takes a lot to blow me out of the water, and I was not expecting that! I said "No" and quickly cleared up there was no relation, but I asked what part made them think so; some demurely commented on the gown, but the headstrong one kept going on about my face. Then she said, "but you look so different from your pictures right now!!" I thought back on Susan Sarandon's saying in the movie Stepmom: "saying someone loks tired is just a polite way of saying she looks like shit," and my evil eye took over for a quick second--I was having a terrible hair day and my makeup was smudged, and I generally looked like a harrased soccer mom--NOT Kate Middleton. (Moment of Ashley glory coming): Now if you knew me, you'd know that I am extremely scatterbrained and live on cloud nine most of the time. However, thanks to my habit of stuffing everything I own into my purse (I have a Mary Poppins situation going on), I still had a couple of Rachel Lisa's business cards stashed in a pocket. AMAZING!!! I waited to the last minute (3-4 weeks before my wedding) to find a makeup artist for my big day. I emailed Brideface and the owner emailed back the next day eager to assist. She had an artist available for the day I needed. I went for a trial run at their super cute studio in OTR the next week and was very happy with the results. My artist was Whitney. She was so nice and open to whatever ideas I had. She is truly an expert. The airbrush is amazing and definitely a must. Whitney came to my house the day of the wedding and even though I had changed my style and wanted to go a bit more glam she was on board and made sure I was 100% happy with the results. I had a "FACEing" lesson with my best friend last night with Nancy. It was phenomenal! Nancy was so excited to have us and treated us like queens. She spent a few hours with us looking through our own makeup and letting us know what we should and shouldn't be using. Since BrideFace doesn't have their own makeup line (besides their lip line), Nancy was totally a unbiased opinion on what we should be using and what we had already been using that we should keep. Best part, she suggests using a lot of drugstore products which don't break the bank! We absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the makeup services provided by Ranee of Brideface! I simply can't say enough about how great our experience with this company and makeup artist was.... But I'll try... ;) A little back story: I was the maid of honor. The other bridesmaids and I decided it would be a great idea to pitch in and pay for the beautiful bride to be's complete bridal package which would include her makeup on the day of the wedding and a trial run. Being a thrifty group, we decided to make her trial makeup session part of her bachelorette party! But we aren't the type of friends who would just make her look gorgeous all by herself.... so we all got a trial makeup session as well. ;) Ultimately, our bridal party had the pleasure of getting our full make-up done by Ranee twice! 9/21/13--Night of the Bachelorette Party!! We first met Ranee at Brideface's studio in Ft. Thomas. First, just let me say that their studio is beyond adorable! Seriously, I want to live there. Major kudos to their decorator. It was a perfect setting for a girly get together--which was a major bonus because we didn't have to bring any decorations to make it look festive for the bachelorette party. Ranee was warm and funny and completely clicked with our group. We laughed and had a blast the entire time! Regarding the actual makeup application, Ranee was a an absolute pro! She was able to create exactly "the look" each one of us wanted. If we weren't exactly sure want we wanted, she gave us suggestions. If we wanted to try something different, no problem. Completely laid back. No stress. When everyone's makeup was done and it was time to go out for the night, I knew that our choice to use Ranee and Brideface for our bridal party's makeup had been an excellent one. My friends looked ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! 9/28/13--Day of the Wedding!! Since we already had a trial run with Ranee the week prior, we were 100% confident that Ranee would make us look gorgeous on the day of the wedding. I cannot overstate how wonderful it was to have NO anxiety over getting ready. Ranee arrived on time at the home of the bride's parents and got to work. Again, her unique personality made her genuinely pleasing to be around and added such a positive vibe to the environment. She got all of our makeup done in plenty of time and was even able to add on an extra person at the last minute who had not previously requested her services. When we arrived at the venue for the wedding everyone was gushing about how great our makeup looked! The makeup held up through all of our happy wedding crying and crazy, sweaty dancing. The fake eyelashes were fantastically applied and lasted several days ! In summary, I highly recommend Ranee from Brideface for all your makeup needs!
