I tore my ACL about a year ago. I went to a different PT for a few months, but as a competitive athlete was frustrated that I wasn't being pushed or taken as seriously as I would've liked. I came into beyond exercise with the intention of just using their anti gravity treadmill to get into running, but ended up working with Ellen, one of the PTs. It was a great decision -- she listened to me and what my goals were (Olympic lifting, triathlons, rock climbing, hiking) and tailored exercises to make sure I could get back into everything I wanted to do! I was put in a room that was not large enough to socially distance, and then was joined by a patient advocate without a mask. I asked if she would wear a mask and she informed me that she was healthy and didn't need or have a mask. She claimed that she took supplements and ate well so that her immune system was healthy and that she knew she wasn't infected. She said people feared the Coronavirus and implied that I was making too much of it. She also said since they are a private business, they choose not to wear masks. I am astonished that a health care facility whose website claims it treats people with auto-immune disorders does not protect its patients by simply wearing masks. Most of the scientific world agrees right now that wearing masks reduces the spread of the Coronavirus, and even if it is proven wrong at some point, wearing a mask is not much to ask to protect your fellow human, particularly if you are inviting them into your business and trying to form a trusting patient relationship. I left before the consultation feeling uncomfortable, belittled, and shocked that they are so very cavalier about protecting their patients. If you care about your health, I do not recommend going to Covenant Natural Health Care because they don't care about your health.

There is six feet spacing here and in the waiting room of my doctor's office on the fourth floor. The chairs are blocked off to separate the patients before they're called to the back. The wait time is short just a few minutes. Once I'm put in an exam room it is a very short wait before my blood pressure and pulse rate is checked. Then my doctor comes in about five minutes later. The exam and visit is usually about 20 minutes or so. My doctor is not very talkative and leaves the room rather quickly after telling me a very brief summary and when I need to return. I often ask the nurse and at the front desk if I have more questions. Today the nurse had to review the chart to give me an answer. Single mom of three, veteran, council member, genuinely someone who tries to do good and give back to the community. My downfall, as a single working mom juggling so much sometimes I run late when putting adding something new to our life. I sought out this dentist solely due to what I thought was shared beliefs. I have a son who is twelve and has a fear of shots and has two cavities. I was ten minutes late and let my son go inside first while I parked, got my one year old daughter out of the car, and sent a work text. I hadn't gone through anything like this before and for some reason I was under the impression that he would go in get gas, there would be some time to allow it to go into effect and then it would be time for the fillings which I intended to be inside for. I had already spoken to the dentist about the laughing gas and requested it for my son at our last visit. I got a call from the front staff asking if I was coming in to which I said yes. I was not told at that time that they were waiting for me. When I came in my son was in the waiting area in a chair crying. The dentist pulled me back to his office ridiculed me stating he was not going to treat my son said "I'm not dealing with this", "this is a waste of everyone's time", "I'm not starting my day like this", reiterated the fact that I was late and I should've been in there. All this while he sees me holding my one year old and just kind of insinuating I was being a bad parent and my son was the bad kid that's just too much for him. My boys are so sweet don't get in trouble at home or school just one has a fear of needles and I wasn't aware of the full process. I thought I had time and wanted to avoid my daughter freaking out disrupting clients so I was trying to not have her in there the entire time, but I hadn't realized there wouldn't be much time in between my son receiving his shot and getting started. It would have been nice when I received the call to come in to know your son is emotional/hysterical and needs you. I kind of just thought they were checking to ensure I was here before they treat and that I didn't drop him off and/or that I would need to pay immediately. Hind sight is twenty twenty and I wish I would've planned ahead for school traffic and just walked in at the same time. Either way it would've been nice to be treated with grace instead of harshness, judgement, criticism, frustration, and rejection. The front staff and dental hygienists we encountered were extremely sweet and kind, but apparently the dentist we saw only is when we are not an inconvenience. Doesn't help that I just so happen to be of brown complexion. So if you tend to run behind or you yourself or children need some TLC I would recommend checking with another dentist office or trying a pediatric dentist.

Initially, I was impressed with Dr. Robert Siegel, who was attentive, caring, and professional, but the quality of our visits went quickly downhill when I we met with other practitioners. My partner and I were very concerned with the number of vaccinations the nurse practitioner wanted to give my son all in one visit. After we voiced our concerns and stated we believed it would be in his best interest to get just two or three and space out the rest, she reacted with such condescension that I was infuriated. Over the course of the next few well baby visits, it was more the same dismissive and rude attitude. Finally, we switched to St. Elizabeth Family Practice, where the care couldn't be more caring and welcoming.

Heisel, Hughes, Defoor and LaCount have also been quite helpful when emergent issues arose. I would recommend this group without reservation.
