I agree, with the other reviews... this is a new hidden gem located in Salon Concepts! Although I am no expert, it was my best Brazilian yet. Granted I have only had two (this being my second), it was a bit better than the first. By 'better' I mean a few things sets this place apart from my first experience. First, Gina was quick to get back with me on appt times and when I needed to reschedule the night before she was quick to respond and flexible to schedule with. Second, the experience was better... as mentioned in other reviews Gina was personable and talkative, to make the experience more comfortable and less awkward. Third, the 'coverage' was much more than the first one I received, for essentially the same price. I have already scheduled my next appt. and this looks like it will be my go to place for waxing! read more

I highly recommend Gina! I was battling acne for about a year. It just would not stop! I went to Gina for her acne boot camp. She personalized a skincare regimen for me. The products are pricey, but they are definitely worth the money. Gina took the time to look at my medications to see what may be causing my acne. I changed birth control pills and started taking a zinc supplement. She also informed me on ingredients to avoid for cosmetics. It took 4-5 months to get completely clear. I recently moved back to the area after living in NYC for 5 years. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to find spa services that were as good as the ones I'd found in New York. I was happily surprised to find Gina at Luminous Skin. Best wax I've had. Not painful, easy and thorough. It can be a little weird to do that service, but I felt completely comfortable. And seriously, the least painful wax I've ever experienced. Gina gave me a spa facial last week, which was amazing as well. My skin looked and felt great! I highly recommend her for all your spa needs. You can book online, but I recommend just calling her and leaving a message for the day and time you prefer. Just got my first ever "Brazilian" and Gina made it as good as that experience can be! She is new at this location but not new to the business. Her skin care business is located in the Salon Concepts building - which is itself a pretty cool idea. All the operators there have their own little suites - sort of like booth rental but even better! I got a 1/2 price deal on Dealchicken for the waxing at Luminous Skin which gave me the incentive to give it a try. Gina was friendly, fast, and very professional. It's impossible to have that particular service done without some "sting", but honestly, I think she did it as well as it could be done. It was a little uncomfortable, but not really too bad. More importantly, she made me so comfortable that I didn't even think about what she was doing! She offers a "maintenance package" for her Brazilians - reduced cost if done monthly. I think that's a great idea. She also offers a "customer loyalty" card - every 6th service is free. I think that's also a great idea. She does all kinds of skin care- not just waxing. Based of the review here on yelp, I called Gina for a last minute appointment before I took a vacation. She called me back promptly and made an evening appointment for me THE NEXT DAY. Awesome. This was my first Brazilian and I was really nervous but Gina was great. She assured me it didn't hurt as much as everyone says and she really was right. It wasn't bad at all and it only took 20 minutes.. Gina chatted with me almost the whole time (again..I'm pretty sure she could tell I was nervous and felt awkward so she was trying to take my mind off the whole situation, I think!) but was still incredibly professional and efficient. She even made sure to tweeze any little hairs left over and let me do a check myself to make sure I was satisfied which I was pleased with as well. As the other reviewer mentioned, she offers a loyalty program and let's you come in for a reduced price maintenance session which I was also impressed with. And totally unrelated bonus points: She also appears to use and sell Dermatologica products (which is a great skincare line that I use) so I immediately felt additionally at ease. My first thought when I walked into her very nice and extremely clean office was that this obviously is a woman who knows what quality is! I would definitely recommend her to anyone! read more

Gina is very professional, kind, compassionate, and seems to be very knowledgeable in her field. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with my results with the acne boot camp. I gave it about 5 months, continuing to purchase the products and make the adjustments that she recommended. My skin has improved, but to be fair, it was at the worst it has ever been when I first started seeing her, and now it has just returned to my "normal" level of breaking out. I really wanted it to work because I read so many great reviews and really like Gina. I wouldn't let this deter others from at least giving it a shot, as it seems to work for many people, but I just wanted to put it out there that it's not a magic cure for everyone. I would absolutely be open to trying other services with her, though. read more

Gina does a wonderful job!! She's very professional and consistently gives me the best customer service! She does a wonderful (& more importantly quick-lol) job on my waxes. The facials I have received from her are wonderful and relaxing. And I love getting my eyelashes tinted and permed!! Especially in the summer when on the beach with new make up it does wonders for my appearance! I took my 14 year old daughter to Luminous Skin for a "teen facial" as a treat before starting high school. Gina did such a great job with making her feel comfortable, and not only did Morgan enjoy it, her skin was in noticably better condition after it. I have been to see Gina at Luminous Skin for waxing 3 times now. I can say honestly, that I will never go anywhere else for any spa services she provides! I have had waxing done at other spas/salons and have even paid at least 2x what she charges for a full leg wax and it was awful..painful, got horrible ingrown hairs right before a beach vacation. I don't know what she uses, but there is absolutely no pain at all and my legs are as smooth as a baby's bum! I also had her tint my eyebrows this last time and they look great too. She even trimmed them up for me. I have always been afraid to do that on my own. So much easier to deal with now. Besides being a guru at her trade,prices are fair and cheaper than I have seen elsewhere. She is very personable and makes you feel at ease. I have not done a bikini wax with her. But, I would have no issue with doing so. I am going to talk with her at my next visit for brow and lash tint about her skincare treatments. I have beginning rosacea, so I get weary on that front. But I bought a sunscreen lotion from her after giving up on sunscreens for my face because they always cause breakouts/sensitivities. So far, so good with it! read more

I wish I would have went sooner! I've been seeing Gina since October for my acne and wow! I have a whole new skin. I can actually feel comfortable going out in public with zero makeup on. I never thought I would say that. It is definitely worth the money. There is no better investment than your skin. I finally pulled the trigger and did the acne bootcamp because of my wedding next year. I feel confident that I will have beautiful glowing skin when my big day comes! If you are thinking about doing this, if you feel like you've been battling acne in some shape or form on your face for years but nothing you do or try fully works, but maybe you are concerned about the price, or whatever reason, DON'T be!!! You won't regret going to see her. My acne scars that have been on my face for years have lightened so much, they are almost gone. My breakouts used to be large patches and now I maybe get one or two here or there (stress/sugar breakouts etc). I have also gotten a traditional facial from Gina and it was wonderful as well. I'm a little late writing this as I visited at the end of November. I was wanting to get a brazilian wax and not go to the other side of the city and had many bad experiences near my home. I read wonderful reviews and was not disappointed. By far the best wax I have had to date. She had no double dipping. Was very kind friendly and made me feel very comfortable and welcome during my visit. It's not always the easiest thing to have someone new in that area, but she had the most professionalism and confidence that I had ever seen. I came here to get my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted and I was very happy with the results. I was a little nervous going into this because im a redhead so i didn't know how well tinting would work with my skin and hair colors, but it turned out looking so natural and great! I have being coming to Gina for all of my skincare and waxing needs for about a year and a half. Gina introduced me to her acne treatment plan through Face Reality Acne Clinic in California and I can honestly say my once horrible skin does not break out anymore...like ever!
