I like generally enjoy Irish pubs but this is the most half-assed attempt I've ever seen of one. It feels like a cold, empty cave. it's generally over-packed on weekends with 21 year olds who don't know better yet! The cavernous size of the room makes conversation without yelling impossible when its full. To me, if its noise, it better be music! Would like to see some more effort to make this place feel more authentic. Nothing about it makes it special except that it's the only self-proclaimed Irish pub in Bellingham read more

Nice place if you don't mind being treated like dirt by the owners. After several bad experiences, the wife and I decided to try again only to be told by the owner they weren't open and to come back later. We checked our watches as we left and were 1 minute early. Sunday we stopped in after hitting the slopes at Mt. Baker. The town itself was quiet and many places were closed because it was getting late. However, this place was packed and I loved the warm relaxing decor and the place is huge! There was a nice vibe and our bartender John (I believe) was super welcoming. I had a couple Pimm's Cups and they were quite lovely. The bar was gorgeous offering some great beer on tap (including an Irish Cider), full bar and a lovely selection of scotch and whiskey. If we didn't have to drive to far I would have liked to go down the whiskey menu starting at the top. Highly recommend Uisce! read more

Uisce is one of the best, if not the best, pubs/bars in Bellingham. Their wide selection of libations ensures something pleasing for everyone. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is always on point, whether you're looking for a quiet drink after work (midweek days) or a livelier evening with a large crowd (weekends). There are a few dartboards available, trivia on Tuesdays, and outdoor seating in the summer. Don't forget to try one of their speciality cucumber drinks, and make sure to ask for a bowl of pretzels. Outstanding bar! Numerous whiskey's available as well as Guiness on tap. Great atmosphere, especially on St. Patrick's day (if you can get a seat). They do not offer food, but Brandywine Kitchen next door will deliver food to your table. Fun place! read more

This is a *bar*. It is not a pub. If you go to it expecting the latter, as I did, be prepared for a disappointment. College kids stacked 5 deep at the bar and a deafening din with drinks mixed around alcohol content rather than taste, yes; a good place for a quiet drink with your friends and a decent meal... very much no. If you're just looking for a watering hole, though, this will probably fit the bill just fine. read more

We had the best night at this pub. The bar staff were friendly, quick and professional. The prices are really reasonable. We had a Guinness - a true slow pour - and a sparkling pink cava that was recommended by the bartender and was delicious. We came on a Saturday and a pick-up group of talented Celtic-style musicians were improvising. All in all a delightful experience. read more

I have mixed feelings about this bar. It is a nice bar with a good selection of alcohol, specifically scotch. However, our time there was partially ruined by the d**k bouncer. The man at the door was the quintessential small kid with a short man complex. He was clearly getting his jollies harassing all of the incoming customers and making them jump through all of his silly hoops. I was embarrassed for both this mans lack of confidence and spite, and the establishments pathetic decision to hire him. If you have an out of state license be ready to justify why you don't live in the state of WA and be ready to answer the following inquisition. I suggest to this bar that they seriously rethink how they hire employees that interact with the public. read more

Trivia night here is so much fun!! For that alone I give it five stars, but it's also nice to just hang out and have a drink here with people on non-trivia nights. Sometimes it's a little crowded and you have to wait at the bar a bit, but they do their best and are friendly, so it's never bothersome as long as you are a little bit patient. It's got a pretty laid back feel, and it's nice to relax and chat with friends. read more

Uisce is a phenomenal Irish pub downtown Bellingham. Opened in 2006 its been filling a much loved niche in the northwest. Solid wood tables, a fireplace, darts, and even a comfortable couch. Its traditionally decorated and has a true old-world ambience. The bartenders Molly and Johnny serve up a great selection of beers, excellent scotch, and the best Irish Coffee I've ever had. While they specialize in good traditional Irish fare, they have plenty of the modern cocktail fixings if thats what your looking for. This is my favorite pub to frequent. It makes a great place to cap off a night, and every Tuesday night they host a trivia night. If you're in town, even for just a night, I highly recommend stopping in for a pint. read more

I have never been treated in such an insulting manner in my life by the owner of this pub. I do not drink for health reasons, and with my busy schedule, trivia is the only time I actually get to hang out with my friends. I've been going to Uisce's trivia for 6 months without a single issue, but tonight the owner approached our entire team and demanded that we all order drinks in order to play (which is never stipulated in the rules of participation). After I told him that I wasn't drinking, he proceded to compare me and my other friend to "free-loading homeless people" before telling me to either buy something or get out. Obviously, I chose to leave. I understand that he has a business to run, but harassing and insulting patrons who bring 7-12 people into your bar every single week is not the way to keep loyal customers. I'm from the hospitality industry; this is the completely inappropriate way to ask someone to leave or for their business. RUDE. With almost every other restaurant or bar hosting trivia nights in town, I do not lament the fact that I will not be returning here with my team on Tuesday nights. read more

when it is full, you can't beat the vibe. Everyone goes to Uisce it seems. I wish they had food, because I would be there more often and earlier, but it is truly a pub. You can get pretzels and mustard. The owner is interesting, and there is one great bartender who flirts, and one who makes a pretty crap mixed drink. Pronounced [ish-kah-s], this Irish pup is one-of-a-kind. Amidst the sketchy clubs and bars that scatter the downtown Bellingham area, Uisce's Guinness on tap is the best in Bellingham. A classy joint in a small college-town is a nice refreshment. read more

Clean, classy, chill little bar. The bartenders are super friendly and really know how to make quality drinks. My friends and I come here every Tuesday night for trivia. If you get hungry, they have bread and cheese plates which are very tasty indeed. read more

One of my favorites. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a complicated (or let's face it, any) mixed drink. However I love the atmosphere here. The bartenders may not know how to make you what you want, but there is lots of beer, simple well drinks, and a few mixed drinks (like a jolly rancher) that they can make for you. One time I was here in a group of two other people and we were the only ones around so the bartender told us stories; she was great. If you think an Irish pub sounds fun, go ahead and try Uisce. I don't think you'll be disappointed. They also have free pretzels! read more

Celebrated my birthday here recently. Loved the strong Manhattan and good selection of whiskies. Bartender was very friendly and joked with us a bit. We played some darts. We had a very good time. The only thing I did not fully enjoy was the jukebox: it was tired and badly in need of some updated tubes. This was my third time visiting this bar, and each time was great, except for the jukebox. I mean, I love The Pogues and Bob Dylan, don't get me wrong. It's just there's a universe of good music out there. Anyway, go early for a quiet drink, and throw some darts! read more

Good whisky selection and barkeeps that pour well. Reasonably priced. Will stop in again on my next visit.

Guinness poured properly. Professional, friendly bar staff that know what they're talking about. Trivia Nite on Tuesday is the best one in town. You may pay a few bucks more, but if you want proper drinks served properly, you must cough up. Deal with it. Outside of darts and mangled board games, there isn't much to do, so bring a friend or two to keep it lively. read more

Been here twice with friends. It's a decent bar. The staff seemed a aloof, and I didn't see a smile either time I was there. They did a good job and the bar has a good selection. I was told "don't even consider asking for food" by my friends. You can go next door for that. This place is good but not special. Maybe I'm not young enough anymore. read more

Fire place, darts, good drinks, good beer and excellent staffing. Good atmosphere...they do not offer food though, and the drinks are somewhat more than most bars. Still a really good place to go! One of my favorite bars in Bellingham, very nostalgic. They have just about any kind of whiskey and scotch you can think of. I always have a blast and the bartenders like to do fun bar tricks. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. They even have cool Irish bands play live every once in a while. And for you newbies out there, it's pronounced "ISH-kah". read more

Went on St Patty's day, they had the local fire dept there playing bag pipes and drums on the bar! I didn't eat but as a pub review this was a great night. In-spite of the bar tenders being swamped I never went very long without a beverage and they had a great selection of international beers and good local brews. Thanks for a great night! read more

So get this- I love the drinks, atmosphere is very sophisticated and not-cluby, and everything is pretty clean and well put together. HOWEVER this blond little troll they have as a bouncer was extremely rude and didn't allow my friend into the place after we had A beer or two, no slurring of words or stumbling at all, this beef burrito had no idea what he was doing and I would not give money to an establishment that endorses fun-killing. #pettyandproud read more

My favorite bar in Bellingham is no longer a well kept secret. It's a little too busy on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights for me now...with the high ceilings, it can be really loud. But I love the vibe of Uisce. Full bar, great beer on tap, free pretezels and hot mustard. If you're not into the "college crowd" don't go Thursday-Saturday night. It's a great place to meet up with friends for a drink and conversation any other night of the week. Staff is really friendly, great place all around. I heart Uisce! read more

The only place remotely reminiscent of an Irish Pub in Bellingham!! ( I grew up in Boston so I feel that I should be a fair judge of Irish Pubs) The drinks are delicious, the staff works their butts off to provide impeccable service and the owner is a delight. Mind you they are located in a college town so the crowd can be young and rowdy sometimes......but that isn't their fault and they do an amazing job at keeping it civil. My only advice would be to not change a thing......oh and the absolute best place in town to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!!! read more

Went in for a drink, saw that the special was a blueberry lemon drop. The bartender ignored myself along with 4 people waiting for her attention, and kept talking to two gentlemen sitting at the bar and she said "it's dead then everybody comes at once" and has an attitude about it. I work in a restaurant, I would never make a patron feel like they were inconveniencing me. Then she prepares my drink and it's tiny. Looks like a shooter and initially she charges my card for $6.50 then tells me she charged me wrong and charges me $9.50... 9.50 for a shot? And that's a special? Then I asked her for a receipt of the voided transaction, just to be safe, to which she replies she can't give me one.. so annoyed. Her name was molly mcgarry. read more

I love this place but it is turning into a college bar and that to me means i need a new place before the Western fools take it over and drive me crazy. As an American Irish though the bar is pretty close to what you would see in Belfast or Dingle. The bartenders are pretty amazing and the smell of warmed wood and whiskey really make it for me, it is clear why they named it the water of life. read more

The irish pub having the feel of going back in time. I love the place hands down, amazing vibe there drinks arent that expensive or none at all. they where resalable prices.
