I failed to note down the location or name of this food court so during this visit in 2016, we were looking on all of the streets for this same place. After a few days of unsuccessful searching, I turned to the internet and finally found that this place had gone a renovation so what I remembered the place to look like was no longer. The new layout is even better with lots of seating and the food choices should be able to satisfy any hunger cravings. This place is only open during the weekdays and only for lunch. Make sure you go early enough to beat the massive noontime lunch crowd. One of the must do places on my visit to Sydney.

There's a Japanese grocery store (which is actually pretty good, one of only a couple of Japanese grocery places in the CBD), a generic sushi joint, a Japanese fragrance place and a mobile phone shop. There's also an entrance to the Town Hall Woolworths at the end of the arcade, and ultimately Town Hall station. However, towards the end of the arcade there's some stairs leading to a basement level. Again, until you look down them, it doesn't seem like there's much down there. If you decide to decend the stairs, you are greeted with a crowded food court packed with office workers, mainly Asian. The food court is not huge, there's only seven stalls, all serving a different Asian cuisine. There's Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Nepalese and Burmese on offer, and it's all at bargain basement (excuse the pun) prices. The Malaysian stall has a lot of fans, but i'm sure the others are all good too. Nb: It's only open on weekdays (as it serves lunching office workers) for lunch.

We came in on our last morning in OZ to make sure we tried the Smashed Avo dish that seems to be so popular. We had no idea all of these restaurants were available and for a fraction of the price of Circular Quay. We both just had a huge delicious breakfast for $20.80 AND that included drinks. We shall be back for dinner this evening after returning from Manly. We can attest to the quality of the Bread and Fill only as that's where we are but the other choices that seem to be available here are terrific. The Korean place a little down the right as you come up the escalators is ok and the Japanese outlets passable, but the rest is pretty standard asian foodcourt fare. During weekday midday the place is full of office workers looking for a cheap and quick lunch. But the trouble begins after lunch, well in my case most of the time. I've had food poisoning a couple of times and a lot of the time my stomach doesn't feel very settled due to the MSG. Also I saw a news story about a year ago which made my stomach turn. Inspectors caught 2 places which didn't have adequate hygiene. Lets just say there were things crawling around and they were selling old food. Ewww. I haven't been back since and my stomach has felt much, much better :)

But unlike in LA where they are not frequented, Market City was definitely hopping on a Friday afternoon. The vast majority of retail stores are Far East Asian (Chinese and Korean). There are grocery stores located in the bottom floor, along with beauty stores. There are also stand alone carts selling various knick knacks. It was worthwhile perusing them, and my brother ended up buying quite a few things.
