Excellent place to go if you have any anxiety about the dentist…read more I've had severe anxiety regarding anything dental since I was a child. I start shaking, even just sitting in the lobby. Dr Lane was so nice, calm and listened to me explain why I was so nervous. Very sympathetic and his team came up with an easy way to approach the dental work I needed (having not been in a while, I had some issues). Because of everyone's patience with me, and calm demeanor I am no longer scared to go! I can't recommend them enough for anyone with anxiety or even without.

Billie is giung on a temporary leave starting in May. I like van but it won't be the same. I entered the no cavity club. I just wish I didn't have to pay for nitrous every three months . It was exciting to enter the no cavity club.unfortunately, they didn't have earphones that fit my phone. Next time I will get each plugs. One of the things I like is that give you a mask for your eyes and a blanket to put around yourself. I get a squish toy and nice music. Thank you Dr . Burkhart for recommending him . You can tell that he cares about his patients and they love their job.

She did a head CT that revealed a deviated septum, and referred me to Dr. Wassmuth. I was quite impressed by the kindness, courtesy, and professionalism when I first visited the office of Capitol Otolaryngology. Dr. Wassmuth examined my nose and suggested balloon sinuplasty with turbinate reduction. After much trepidation, I scheduled the surgery, which is done in-office. The process of fixing my nose didn't take all that long. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Jack Carsner, was excellent, as were all those I met in the operating room. The procedure apparently went off without a hitch, and my husband drove me home where I rested the remainder of the day. Within a day or so I was feeling much better. I am still considered to be recovering after a week, but have already experienced noticeable improvements in my breathing. My husband says my snoring was virtually gone within a day after the procedure. I've had a variety of seemingly-minor health concerns, that when put together, have led to other problems. Snoring, dry mouth, dental issues, and poor sleep quality turned out to have (at least in part) had a common root cause in breathing problems. Hopefully all will improve or resolve before very long. If you have any kind of breathing problems, including snoring and symptoms like dry mouth when you awaken, you may benefit from a visit to Dr. Wassmuth. I highly recommend his medical practice.

He always took the time to answer any questions I had and thoroughly explain what he was going to be doing. The procedure had minimal pain, no nasal packing, and the recovery was quick. My smile is ruined. I was sent to this location due to the VA being overbooked. I had a small…read moreoverlay of composite on my teeth (#8-9) from 2013 that closed a very small gap. It was a little worn down, but my teeth were in great shape. The doctor said he couldn't replace or smooth out the composite because it would make my teeth weak. He suggested veneers and a cleaning. I was initially against it, but he said he would just shave off a small portion of the teeth and place a very thin porcelain veneer on top. He assured me my smile would look exactly the same. On the day my teeth were prepped, I was asked to arrive 1.5 hours early. I thought I was coming in for the cleaning, but he was prepping for the veneers. My entire appointment was rushed. He prepped my teeth in 10 minutes tops and sent me home with hideous yellow temporary teeth. He claimed that was the only color he had in his office. The regret immediately set in. I realized he didn't take pride in his work that day. The veneers are huge. They tapper at a weird angle and are obviously uneven. My teeth feel tight and sensitive. I have gaps on the back of my teeth where the veneer connects to the natural tooth. Food will sometimes get stuck. He also hit both of my lateral incisors with the drill, resulting in a chipped tooth. I expressed my disappointment to the doctor before he glued them in. He told me that if he makes the veneers any shorter, he would have to re-prep and that could lead to a root canal. I left that day so defeted. The cleaning was also never scheduled. I posted a picture where you can see the chip, he left in my tooth that wasn't even supposed to be touched. I am so upset that I allowed him to do the veneers in the first place, I had a gorgeous smile. I now have to find a doctor who can fill the chipped tooth and replace the veneers that also take VA insurance. I am devastated. I truly believe that if I went to another doctor, I would not be in this predicament. They most likely would have replaced the composite instead of pushing for the veneers. Unfortunately, there are people out there who would rather make a quick buck than do the right thing. Advance Smile Center called me after I asked the VA to send a referral to another dentist. The receptionist tried to guilt me into making a follow-up appointment with the same doctor. She told me the right thing to do would be to allow him to fix his mistake. I will never let him near my teeth again, lesson learned.

I've actually been a patient of Emily Ryu, DDS (her maiden name was Abbott) for many years but I used to go to her when she was at the Carus Dental location in Georgetown..yep, folks I live in north Austin but would drive to Georgetown just to see Dr. Ryu..I'm telling you she's a great dentist! Well, lucky me Dr. Ryu is now at the Carus Dental in North Austin & I just had my 1st visit at this Carus location on 2/6/2019 & I am so happy to report that Dr. Ryu is still her awesome self..she is so personable, very thorough, & does a great job explaining my treatment plan. The hygienist I had was named Christina and she was the perfect energy for me! You know how some hygienist talk too much, or hurt you while cleaning your teeth, or try to shame you if you're overdue on your cleaning?..well, Christina was none of those things..she was gentle and just put me at ease. The office staff at this location were all very nice & helpful. Oh, and the best part..they offer Saturday appointments! For sure this Carus Dental location is my new dental spot and I'm so glad I no longer need to make the drive to Georgetown! -Rebecca out
