EDIT: Cons: expensive, save literal tons of money going to a local dentist. Technology is advance enough to see cavities STILL PRODUCING (very small) and while I did have a few cavities, they attempted to make it look like I had tons of problems and issues to be dealt with. My local dentist and the owner exchanged x-rays and that's what I received. I was told I had somewhere around 10 cavities that needed to be dealt with. INSTEAD, the true outcome is that I had TWO that needed a filling and ONE that COULD use a filling if I didn't take good care of it. The real PROBLEM with the initial x-ray displaying the cavities was that IF I were to get that work done on my teeth, that I DIDN'T need done it would have changed my teeth for life, and that is something that should be highly frowned upon. A dentists job is to reassure clients throughly, not bombard them with very low risk 'potential' issues. Nonetheless, if your bank account doesn't matter and you don't care about your children's teeth being pillaged for extra money for the owners new Porsche then be my guest. I'll stick my my local dentist who I've used for years, and next time I won't max out my insurance coverage in one visit. I was a new patient here, and it was a good, helpful experience. I'm 19, and facing moderate gum disease. The doctors helped diagnose me, and determine how bad it was as well as schedule another appointment to get my gums cleaned up in the SAME day. (Monday's are the best) After the pain of getting my gums cleaned, doc prescribed the proper medications, talked me through everything and scheduled my next appointment. The next day, I feel as if I never had gum disease to begin with. I'm very pleased with the dental work I had done. I would recommend this place to anyone, they are very organized, concerned and want you to feel comfortable. read more

Dr. Booth and his team are just stellar. We have been patients for several years now, even though it is quite a hike from our home in Lakeway. We think they are worth every minute of the drive! I came here after finding a deal on groupon for an exam and teeth cleaning when I was looking for a new dentist. I lived nearby and it was a good deal. My teeth cleaning was rough, even though my teeth were pretty clean and none of my cleanings have hurt before. After the cleaning and exam, they gave me a treatment plan which seemed a little expensive for what I needed done but I figured my insurance would cover it. It wasn't anything major, just routine stuff. At the time my insurance had weird coverage rules, so I asked for some time to work it out with my insurance before I started my treatment plan. After that, I kept getting calls from the dentist's office asking when I was going to come in and start. The calls got annoying pretty fast and the woman calling actually got an attitude with me. I didn't owe them any money and I hadn't scheduled any future appointments, so it wasn't like a collection call or a reminder. Every single time they called, I would tell them that I was still trying to work it out with my insurance (which I really was) and that I would call them back as soon as I knew how much my insurance would cover. I feel like part of it was the whole groupon thing, since it was supposed to bring in new patients and I guess it cost them more money than they brought in. Still, I hated being badgered and treated like I had done something wrong. Anyway, I ended up working everything out with my insurance but I went to someone else. The dentist at this location was very nice but their billing was terrible. When I first called to ask if they accept and are in the network under my insurances they said yes. So I went ahead and scheduled a four crown process and procedure. After paying $6,500 and change, they stated they needed to bill my insurances and wait to see what they would pay. After a long process and no contractual discounts I finally receive back a little over 1k. What happened is that I was told they were under network and after a long conversation with BOTH United Healthcare and Aetna turns out these guys were NOT in their network. Boo! Why would I have voluntarily gone to a dentist NOT in my network?!! This would be the most ridiculous choice anyone would make, especially having two major insurance carriers. I didn't even LOVE the doctor that much to CHOOSE to pay out of my own pocket!! BTW this happened last year but it's taken me a minute to get over how mad I've been. I think people should be aware that there are some very shady providers that do not actually care about the customer. Both insurance companies mentioned that they get these angry phone calls more often than they'd like because some offices are just plain greedy!! Moral of the story, I shouldn't have trusted this place and called my insurances first. But Silver Screen Dental.....Very shady provider! read more

Silver Screen Dental is about as pleasant a visit to the Dentist can get. I look forward to my next visit. The office is themed with movie memorabilia and has movies playing on a big screen in the waiting area. I think I'll arrive an hour early next time so I can chill out in there fora while. Dr. Booth and his staff are very professional and yet maintain a very relaxed environment. Watching Sports Center while having my teeth cleaned was almost a surreal experience. The equipment is state of the art. I was very impressed with the instant X-rays that were miles ahead of the old time giant arm of radiation I grew up with ( although I kind of miss wearing the heavy metal blanket). First off - I'm a total wienee when it comes to the dentist. I gag easy, I get so tense from whatever the procedure is; that my butt cramps up and I generally just do not like someone up in my grill like that. Oh, and i'm sure my grill is not in their Most Photogenic 10 Ten. That being said; This dentist and staff are awesome. I'm always waited on in a relaxed and easy manner. I don't feel like I'm being rushed and compared to some dentists - there was no feeling of being in a chop shop. Dr. Booth has a great bedside manner and gives you all the solutions and not just the one that will give him the most return. I had a temporary cap fall off on a Friday - I wrote it up on his website that night (expecting a Monday appt), and he called me that night - and got it back on that Saturday! I've spent a lot of my money (and insurance as well), but I really don't mind that one bit. I would recommend Silver Screen Dental to everyone I know ! read more

Came in to get my teeth cleaned, check for cavities and get fitted for a snore guard. Everything was great but when it came time to talk about the snore guard Dr. Booth let me know he didn't think it would be a good idea for me because of my TMJ. I really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. I felt like he really had my best interests at heart and I like to be able to trust my dentist. I will definitely be back! Super place with a super staff. They are open hours that fit everyone's needs. Awesomely gross video camera as big as a pen that Dr. Booth probes and snaps pictures of your teeth and shows you what's really happening in there on a TV screen. Play by Play. I received cavity fillings a couple of years ago. The dentist asked me if I minded if a dental hygienist in training could assist during the process, which I agreed to. Ever since I got the cavities filled, I have had pain and sensitivity in all 4 teeth. Ironically, I never had the pain before the fillings. Not sure whose fault it is, but I will never again agree to having a hygienist in training assist with those procedures and I will never visit this dentist again. I made an appointment shortly after the fillings once the pain started and the dentist just looked dumbfounded when I explained my symptoms and said we could just drill all the way through them and do it again... I went here one time months ago, and the service was standard. Nothing special, although they were really eager to push those "invisible" braces on me to correct a very slight problem. However, then they screwed up my insurance and claimed that I owed them for something that is supposed to be covered 100%. The worst, however, is that they have been calling and emailing me ever since, asking me to come back. What happened to the days when you got one postcard after six months? I've asked not to be called and unsubscribed from every email that I've gotten and it STILL CONTINUES. The funny thing is, when I've been talking about it to friends who've had the same experience, total strangers have overheard and come up to say they had the exact same thing and couldn't get it to stop. It's been months. I have asked you repeatedly to stop contacting me. I will NEVER be back, so STOP. read more

I loved this place - great patient staff who took a lot of time explaining things to me and showing me where I needed cavities filled. Usually you have to just trust the dentist when they say you need cavities filled but they were able to take pictures of each spot and show me the damage on the screen so I was able to see which ones were bad and which ones were small. After I made an appointment to get them filled, the receptionist was VERY helpful in explaining my payment plan options and getting me set up to have a credit care plan so that I can spread out the payments for 6 fillings - interest free if I pay it in 2 years. I moved to town 3 years ago. I started going here after a year. I have been going here for two years. The dental hygienist took her time and did a great job cleaning each tooth. I love going here and it is great to watch a movie during the entire cleaning. They are always super friendly and listen to your problems. I would recommend them to anyone. Of course always check out the coverage of your insurance before you go to any appointment. This will prevent any problems in the end. With insurance changes and health care changes. I have been going to Dr. Booth for 10 years, after leaving a dentist further north in Austin who saw a goldmine in my mouth and tried to get me to crown almost every molar! Dr. Booth didn't do that - he has been a great, thorough dentist who doesn't try to convince me to get any extra work done. And the proof is in the pudding - 10 years later those molars I never got crowned are JUST FINE. Dr. Booth also fitted me for a bite guard for nighttime grinding, and it fits like a glove. I also have had the same hygienist there since I began, which is really nice. I have moved out of state but continue to visit Dr. Booth twice a year when I am back in Austin for business trips. Caution This dental office is currently "out of network" for all Insurances! When I first visited Dr. Booth last year, they were in my network. In September I went back and had my cleaning. I had to come back to have a filling replaced. On my visit for my filling, I was asked to pay the balance that insurance did not pay, the first time. I asked the account manager, Diann, why insurance was paying so little. She did not tell me Dr. Booth was now out of network. She said Cigna just had a low payment schedule. After paying this balance, I received another bill. I called Diann and told her I was going to speak to my insurance company as the amount owed was more than Diann told me it would be. My insurance company told me he is now out of network. I emailed Diann, because it's anual enrollment and I can change insurance companies if he was with another carrier. Diann confirmed via email that this office is not on any insurance network at this time. I consider my first interaction with Diann as dishonest on her part and an example of poor customer service. That being said, Nora, the hygenist is great and painless. Dr. Booth is pretty good too although my replaced filling is still sensitive after 2 months. read more

I would highly recommend this office! DR. BOOTH IS THE BEST!!!!! I can tell you, that even after working in million dollar dental practice previously for over 8 years, then a smaller practice for 3 years, Dr. Booth beats every dentist I have seen in action. He is very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and does everything in his power to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of in his practice. I think the true test of any business owner is how they respond to an emergency. I broke my back molar on a night where the office was closed the next day. Not only did Dr. Booth take my call directly, but he cancelled something he had going on personally to come to the office the next morning and fix the tooth for me himself. He didn't just temporarily patch it either, he did a permanent onlay, which is absolutely what was needed. The tooth looks great (can't even tell anything was done to it, much less that half of it was broken off). Do you want to know what the best part was??? NO PAIN!!! He was amazing and the procedure was pain free, which is really something considering the broken tooth was hurting me prior to the procedure. This high level of customer service and care is rare in the world today. I know you are probably saying this is just probably a one time deal, but no...it is not. You know why? Because then the next year I chipped my lower front tooth. I was not in pain, but it was scary and I was worried more of the tooth was going to break off and just upset in general based on how unsightly it was. Again, not only did Dr. Booth come in when the office was closed to help, but he fixed the tooth on the spot permanently. WOW!!!!!
