That project went well, although I didn't appreciate the pot smoking on the job. Then I hired Ken to fix a leaky toilet at another property. He ended up paying another plumber, and charged me top dollar ($1,000). The plumber deposited the trash including the old toilet on the street in front of my rental, causing my other tenants to complain. This is complete disrespect for the community (Long Beach). Ken would not call me too discuss...he would only text me demanding payment. I finally got him on the phone, and after a heated exchange, he threatened to put a lien on my property. This guy is a poor communicator and a lousy businessman. I plan to file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board and recover any costs incurred should he unlawfully place a lien on my property.

Kenny had been doing work in the building and came highly recommended. I asked Kenny to build some built ins on an abandoned roof top public area. He laid a floor down. Did an excellent job in constructing the built in, perfect pitch and very comfortable. He uses good quality product, follows your design, cleans up after himself every day, and has a very good crew. He is trust worthy and does an excellent job for a fair, good price. It is now a popular space and created a very nice amenity for the building. After he did such a good job in our common area I had him put a new kitchen in for me and redo my floor to ceiling metal windows. Once again he and his crew stepped up, did a great job, with as little disruption as possible for a good fair price. I mostly like when he runs into unforeseen situations he doesn't cut corners and does the best job that can be expected. I highly recommend Kenny and 5th Generation Construction.

Took a couple of walls down, moved around major appliances, a pretty dramatic overhaul. Thinking back, I was most impressed with how timely the project went and how accurate the bid was. None of the general contractors used by friends or family lived up to those expectations. I have recommended him to 2 others who are equally as happy with their homes as my wife and I are with ours. After eight years, we are still in love with our kitchen. I feel like Chris helped us make timeless decisions, and the quality of the work speaks for itself. As we start planning for our next job, I just felt like I should give some credit to a wonder contractor.

We worked directly with the very talented and creative duo Jeff Jeannette and Stefanie Haering. They helped us discover all of the potential our home had to give and provided many options to create space and functionality that we had not considered. From start to finish, Jeannette Architects listened to us and provided suggestions and plans that reflected our best hopes and needs. I always felt informed and respected. Our project moved forward throughly and quickly, especially considering the technical work that was required to rebuild every aspect of my home. My husband and I are so grateful that Stefanie and Jeff helped us throughout the entire project and even all through construction. I felt supported, I could always ask questions and get accurate, timely answers on even the smallest details. Jeannette would routinely check in on us as the work progressed and celebrated with us on the day we got to move back in. Jeannette Architects designed a beautiful home organized for utility. They created a new floor plan that flows elegantly, is functional and spacious for the homeowners with a sophistication that welcomes friends and family. They were extremely creative with a window plan that maximized the outdoor and indoor symmetry and welcomed natural light throughout my home. Stefanie was an absolute genius in how she found room in my floor plan to expand the primary bath. She added features like a wet room, which allows me to live like a spa queen. I have already recommended them to friends and family. Because of Jeannette Architects, our home is reborn for longevity, enjoyment and to preserve as a family asset.

The person who did the work also walked me through design and material options. I originally wanted a Doric-style column, but they recommended a rectangular column using a durable PVC-type material (used for piping) and even reduced the price. I was hesitant, but it turned out to be the right call. They completed the job in one day and the house looks noticeably upgraded. Afterward, I noticed some movement in the railing slats. They explained it's normal since the railing is custom fabricated on site (not one solid piece), and similar to others in the neighborhood. Still, they came back out and glued them at no charge, and now everything feels solid. The finished look is beautiful--neighbors have already asked for referrals. Professional, responsive, and stood behind their work. Would recommend.
