I'm a general contractor and have worked alongside Jeannette on a number of beautiful projects. They implement a level of detail into their plans rarely seen in the architectural space. Space, flow, layout, lighting, detail, design, thought, care and beauty are all words that come to mind with a Jeannette home. I've also spoken to Jeff, the owner, on numerous occasions surrounding business and growth and he's extremely positive, supportive and passionate about local businesses and Long Beach in general. I highly recommend Jeannette for your architectural experience. read more

The very best decision my husband and I made was hiring Jeannette Architects for my whole home remodel. We worked directly with the very talented and creative duo Jeff Jeannette and Stefanie Haering. They helped us discover all of the potential our home had to give and provided many options to create space and functionality that we had not considered. From start to finish, Jeannette Architects listened to us and provided suggestions and plans that reflected our best hopes and needs. I always felt informed and respected. Our project moved forward throughly and quickly, especially considering the technical work that was required to rebuild every aspect of my home. My husband and I are so grateful that Stefanie and Jeff helped us throughout the entire project and even all through construction. I felt supported, I could always ask questions and get accurate, timely answers on even the smallest details. Jeannette would routinely check in on us as the work progressed and celebrated with us on the day we got to move back in. Jeannette Architects designed a beautiful home organized for utility. They created a new floor plan that flows elegantly, is functional and spacious for the homeowners with a sophistication that welcomes friends and family. They were extremely creative with a window plan that maximized the outdoor and indoor symmetry and welcomed natural light throughout my home. Stefanie was an absolute genius in how she found room in my floor plan to expand the primary bath. She added features like a wet room, which allows me to live like a spa queen. I have already recommended them to friends and family. Because of Jeannette Architects, our home is reborn for longevity, enjoyment and to preserve as a family asset. read more

Jeff Jeannette is the very best architect in the business for Cliff May and mid-century houses. He is not the cheapest, but he is worth every penny we spent. We passed every inspection on the first round. If you are remodeling or rebuilding your mid-century modern house, especially a Cliff May.... Hire Jeff. He is the best choice, hands down. We love our architect, 5 years after our rebuild. read more

Remodeling a home is an incredibly intimidating process and there are so many decisions you have to make. If you choose Jeannette Architects first, every decision that comes after will be easier for you. Jeff and his team are exceptionally skilled, talented, and knowledgeable. Working closely with you, they will use their vast experience to thoughtfully design, plan, and execute on your vision for your home. They will lead you to and refer you to the best providers who will join with Jeff in executing your vision flawlessly. There is no handoff. Jeff and his team stay in touch with you from the project's inception to the final walk through. My husband has a spinal cord injury and requires a wheelchair full time. We required a home with universal design and craved a home that didn't look "adaptive". Prior to working with Jeff and Allie, we had always adapted to our home. Now, we live in a home adapted to us. Jeff and Allie created a seamless design for our home that meets all of our needs while still offering exceptional, modern, sophisticated design. Our home is beautiful, accessible, adaptive, and comfortable without looking "handicapped" or "adaptive". Big dreams that come in the form of big remodels take time and it's important that you like the people you are working with. Jeff and Allie are exceptional humans. Remodeling a home is personal. Jeff and Allie intuitively get that. One of the more personal needs for us was planning for future needs my husband may someday have. In planning for ceiling supports in the event that we might someday need a lift, Jeff said : "Yes, we can insure that you have what you need but we can hide everything in the ceiling until you do. You do not need a daily reminder of the future that hasn't come yet". That is who Jeff is and his values are shared on his entire team. That is how well you will be taken care of and how supported you will feel in the most sensitive, vulnerable, whimsical, or indulgent of requests. Jeff and his team excel at larger scale projects such as ours and are valuable from the first day you think you might need an architect until your contractor hands you your keys upon project completion. After all, before you knock down those walls, you never really know what you'll find and it is handy to have an architect available to you throughout the project. You'll likely need them. If you bring a realistic timeline and a realistic budget, Jeff and his team will have your backs with everything that comes next. Your home will be anything but cookie cutter and while many bemoan construction, you will be grateful that your first big decision in choosing the right architect led to everything you dream of coming next. read more

I didn't work directly with Jeannette Engineering but they gave me a great referral. I was dealing with a very tough situation with the city and was having a very difficult time finding anyone to take on my problem. I called Jeannette Engineering and they referred me to someone who was incredibly helpful and solved my issue quickly at a very reasonable price. Thank you for the wonderful referral. My entire family thanks you! All the best, Taylor read more

Jeff was the architect on our home remodel about 2 years ago. He truly transformed our home inside and out! The part I love the most is that he came up with an idea to open our space by connecting our small outdoor patio to an empty space off of our kitchen. His idea was genius, and something we would have never come up with on our own. The way he designed the space has made it very usable. It is a space that we now spend a significant amount of time in that didn't exist before. His attention to detail is impeccable too. He also gave us realistic time-frames to work with, and there were never any surprises. My husband is a contractor and has referred several clients to him as well who have also been very happy. I would highly recommend Jeff and his team! read more

Have to give them 1 star, but really a zero. Don't waste your time with this company. Was impressed with their work I saw on their site but was sorely disappointed for their lack of professionalism in getting back to me. Received an email in the morning with a slew of questions and was hoping to reply back with answers however within only a 2-3 hours they reply back, "Respectfully we'll have to pass on your project considering your limited reply..." WTF. That was a "HUGE SIGN" that company is not willing to work with you...who's the client again? Anyway, lost my business within a few hours....definitely not worth spending your $ with. After reading the email thread it appears that "feelings were hurt" which prompted his email response that they no longer wanted our business. An email that was intended for my husband about two appts lined up with other architects and that their initial consultation was free. Another reason why this wasn't a good fit---poor communication. read more

As a discerning experienced contractor we sought and found excellence in an architect and engineer for our own home. In the Jeff Jeanette team we found customer focused professionalism with ourselves and the project always treated with the utmost of integrity and openness. We cherish the experience and the results... thank you Jeff. read more

Long overdue review. We selected Jeannette architects to design a complete exterior remodel of our home. We wanted to modernize the homes mid-century design while preserving some of its original features. We selected Jeff Jeannette because of his experience with similar style homes. Jeff and Laura met with us several times to discuss our project goals before starting our design. We liked that they listened to our ideas and suggested improvements, rather than insisting on their own design. They presented us with many options that we had not thought of, and made suggestions based on past experience. Jeff and Laura were available throughout the entire design, permit and construction process. They worked closely with our contractors and suppliers to ensure that the work matched the design. The results looked even better than what we envisioned. We have recommended Jeff to many of our friends and neighbors and will continue to do so. read more

We hired Jeannette Architects to create plans for a project involving an addition and remodel of kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom areas. Jeff and his team were very professional and a pleasure to work with. The plans they created were super thorough and detailed. This facilitated getting accurate quotes from contractors and ultimately streamlining the construction phase itself as all the specifics were well covered. Thank you! read more

We worked with Jeannette Architects last year on a complete tear down and re-build of a back unit/cottage. This was a challenging project with strict building codes in Long Beach, CA and it had to be seamlessly integrated with the 100 year old colonial main house. From beginning to end, the Jeannette's were FANTASTIC and true partners in this project. They listened patiently to what we wanted to achieve with this space and somehow extracted the perfect physical structure. Their attention to detail was incredible and we ended up with a set of plans that left no question or ambiguity about what we'd end up with when we went out to bid. They bring a very personal and creative approach to every job..NO CUT AND PASTE HERE!! Our job was designed specifically for us, and we felt a part of the entire process. Jeff was a trusted partner and great sounding board throughout...making sure we were happy with progress and frequently checking in to make sure quality met his high expectation. On one visit, he noticed the GC framing out the roof with some large beams and asked that the concrete sub-floor be protected in case a beam dropped!! His easy going nature, and calm demeanor gave us a great sense of confidence through what might have been an extremely stressful experience. I can not recommend Jeannette Architects enough..for any job..large or small. They were up-front, honest, and had great communication until we had the keys in our hands. We will definitely be using them again for our next project! read more

I have been following Jeff's work for years. This summer I finally got the opportunity to collaborate with him on a home-remodel. His work is truly amazing. Jeff and I can spend all day talking about designs and ideas. When you find someone, who has passion in what they do you can see it in their work. I only wish I have more projects to do with Jeff. read more

Jeff and his team did an amazing job on the plan for our home addition. We get so many compliments from people walking by. There are three build ups on our street right now and they are nice but thankfully ours is still the best looking house on the block. The longer we are in our new home, the more I realize the value of all the small details that were in our plan, from outlets to window size to post placement. The solid design is obvious at first glance but then it's even more clear upon closer inspection how great the architecture work was for us. Jeff and everyone at Jeannette Architects are the easiest people to work with. Though our project was an addition and not a big budget new build, we always felt valued as clients and able to talk and follow up as needed, without delay. Straightforward, no drama, and an all-around solid operation. read more

I'm just starting my second project with Jeannette Architects. First was a master bath remodel and now we are doing a more extensive remodel and addition to our house. We chose to work with JA because we know so many people that have been pleased with their work, and we've seen for ourselves the many beautiful homes they have created throughout Long Beach. The team at Jeannette is first-rate: very proactive, professional, and service-oriented. We have been talking to Jeff about the remodel plans for several years, and through several iterations (hello basement, goodbye basement) and he has been patient and helpful every step of the way. We now have an amazing design ready to go, and we can't wait to start seeing the transformation of our mid-century home. Jeannette Architects is the best choice if you want full-service architectural services in and around Long Beach. read more

Jeannette Architects designed two separate projects for us. They listened to our wishes and needs and came up with beautiful designs incorporating details we never would have thought of. They consulted with us regularly during planning, have great rapport with the city for our permit phase, and also stayed involved during construction. We are very pleased, hope to do another project with Jeff, and do not hesitate to give Jeannette Architects our very best recommendation... read more

We first heard of Jeannette Architects through our realtor and friends in the area. Our project involved demolition of an existing 1946 two story cracker box and the building of a contemporary custom home. Right from our first conversation, Jeff was honest and forthright about his timeline and constraints and the costs involved with this project. After hanging up the phone, we knew this was the guy for us. The design process with Jeff and Laura was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had with an architect. They were attentive listeners asking relevant and pertinent questions as to our lifestyle, living preferences and design ideas and synthesized that into a concept we loved. Once we settled on the design, they moved ahead in a timely manner to produce the working drawings for submittal to the city. As I came to find out, Jeannette Architects has a superb reputation with the planning department in Long Beach which is a huge plus for the client. Jeff and Laura were certainly present and helpful during the construction phase. Questions always come up during building and they were always available to answer those in a timely manner. Even after the project was finished, Jeff was gracious enough to answer questions and give input regarding landscaping, hardscape and interior design ideas. Both Jeff and Laura's sense of design is first rate and something I listen to and trust. Whether it's a remodel, addition or new construction, do yourself a favor, talk to Jeannette Architects. You won't be sorry. read more

I've had the great pleasure to work with Jeff and the team at Jeannette Architects on two custom home projects. One was my personal home and one was for a family member. Both projects turned out amazing. Our own home was featured in a tour of Long Beach homes and in several newspapers, for its beautiful design and green homebuilding features. Jeff and his team are awesome to work with. They have great communication skills, live up to their promises, and they're all around good people. It's amazing the number of people who end up friends with Jeff after working on a project with him. I'm looking forward to another project with them in the future. read more

Jeannette Architects created a thoughtful and useful space for our garage tear down and rebuild. They know the ins and outs of the city permitting of what would work so there was no back and forth with the city. Jeff was easy to work with, incorporated our wants and needs for the space and helped to coordinate contractors for follow through of the project. I would 100% recommend Jeanette architects. read more

Jeff and his team did an excellent job of capturing our vision and making our house exactly the way we wanted it. We added less than 1000 sq ft but it feels so much bigger and spacious than before. Every detail was captured and our builder was able to make the drawing come to life with not many questions because the drawings had it all. Thanks for giving us the home we have always wanted and we hope to enjoy it for many years to come. read more

Jeff Jeannette and his team have consistently not only met, but exceeded expectations throughout our years in business together. What makes Jeannette Architects stand out above the rest is their attention to detail on their plans. The architectural, structural, as well as cross sections are usually an area in plans where many other firms or companies tend to drop the ball, and we find ourselves having to take time to go back to get the information we've needed. However, Jeff and his incredible staff have saved us a great amount of time and headaches through their thorough work which includes 3D plans, and greater understanding and education than most. If anyone is looking for a high end architect for new builds, additions and/or general renovations, who will provide a world class experience through hard work and seamless, comprehensive communication, Jeff Jeannette and his team are your people. Thank you team for all of your hard work, and we look forward to many more years of business together! read more

This is a long overdue review for Jeannette Architects, who 10 years ago completely redesigned our craftsman bungalow in Long Beach (Belmont Heights). During the 7-month project, we had one baby in diapers and another one on the way...probably not the best time to do a whole-house remodel. We charged ahead anyway. And even though there were stressful moments, those moments were always moderated by the calm stewardship of Jeff, his wife and business partner Roberta, and the rest of the Jeannette team. They knew what they were doing, and we clearly understood we were in good hands. The positive impression developed quickly, in our first meeting with Jeff, when he carefully listened to our thoughts and then sketched several design options he thought would work for us. These on-the-spot sketches were super detailed and creative, and one of them ultimately served as the basis for our remodel. To us, what makes Jeff so good at what he does is that he is an excellent communicator as well as a great architect. As a result, he is able to talk to you, pull from your words an optimal project vision, and then carefully put that vision into an official plan. Jeff and the rest of Jeannette Architects gave us a house that we love, and for that we are eternally grateful. We are not alone in these feelings; most of our neighbors who have renovated their homes have used Jeannette Architects, and all of them, like us, sing loudly their praise. I can't recommend more highly this company. read more
