There has been a huge shake up there with one of the main partners leaving under very atrocious and shocking circumstances with the other partners We got stuck in the middle because not knowing this individual no longer worked there, we emailed him at his EZ Plans email address. That's when the yelling and threats began from Mark at EZ Plans. After being yelled at and screamed at, we decided the client relationship had been irreparably damaged and that we could no longer work together. We reviewed the contract and deliverables and determined that only 2 of the 5 had been delivered. That means 60% was not delivered. In an effort to part amicably, we asked only for a 50% refund of the money as we will need to spend it with another firm but were told the money was non-refundable. Next they formally terminated the relationship (which we had already done) but kept my 80 year old mother's money. My 80 year old mother has now filed a small claims suit asking for a full refund along with punitive damages.

EZ Plans helped guide me through the very detailed process of planning, designing and obtaining permits from the city (LA) for an additional dwelling unit (ADU) in my backyard in Northeast Los Angeles. Michael Song, his architect colleagues and the EZ plans team aided me through every step, and even when the permitting process was difficult, they were very attentive to working out all the issues and making sure that my project was on the right path to coming to fruition. We worked together on this ADU during the pandemic which posed even more challenges, but EZ Plans made the process, like it says in their name, easy. I am just a couple weeks away from breaking ground and I am beyond thrilled to see the vision that EZ Plans and I put on paper come to life. If you want an architectural group who will be committed to your project in an efficient and honest way, while offering their services at a very competitive price, EZ Plans is for you.

Space, flow, layout, lighting, detail, design, thought, care and beauty are all words that come to mind with a Jeannette home. We worked directly with the very talented and creative duo Jeff Jeannette and Stefanie Haering. They helped us discover all of the potential our home had to give and provided many options to create space and functionality that we had not considered. From start to finish, Jeannette Architects listened to us and provided suggestions and plans that reflected our best hopes and needs. I always felt informed and respected. Our project moved forward throughly and quickly, especially considering the technical work that was required to rebuild every aspect of my home. My husband and I are so grateful that Stefanie and Jeff helped us throughout the entire project and even all through construction. I felt supported, I could always ask questions and get accurate, timely answers on even the smallest details. Jeannette would routinely check in on us as the work progressed and celebrated with us on the day we got to move back in. Jeannette Architects designed a beautiful home organized for utility. They created a new floor plan that flows elegantly, is functional and spacious for the homeowners with a sophistication that welcomes friends and family. They were extremely creative with a window plan that maximized the outdoor and indoor symmetry and welcomed natural light throughout my home. Stefanie was an absolute genius in how she found room in my floor plan to expand the primary bath. She added features like a wet room, which allows me to live like a spa queen. I have already recommended them to friends and family. Because of Jeannette Architects, our home is reborn for longevity, enjoyment and to preserve as a family asset.

Re: Accessory dwelling unit…read more Houmam assisted me in designing and engineering an ADU (garage conversion). My situation was unique and very complex because of Zoning and building size. Houmam made sure what I wanted to do was possible by calling the City Of Long Beach prior to even charging me for a consult or a proposal. Although, initially, everything seemed straightforward, there were quite a few bumps in the road, and it was frustrating for all parties involved. It took about eight months for final approval because of the complexities but Houmam saw the project approval through to the end and made sure even after approval, that I had all of the info needed. He continues to be available to answer questions and follow up. He was patient and understanding with all of my questions and concerns. I look forward to updating this review with a picture of the completed project once it's done. I recommend HMS without hesitation.

We hired Ron to do the architectural plans for the remodel of a fourplex. He came in with a fancy camera scanner to measure everything, a very efficient process. He was very much on time with the delivery of the initial draft. We discussed minor changes and submitted to the city, and they had just had a few minor corrections before approval, which is better than other architectural teams I have worked with. After we began work on the project, we discovered a beam in the ceiling was not pointing in the right direction, leading to the need for a revision to the plans. The engineer Margarito went on site and approved changes, which allowed us to quickly adapt. Overall this was a very streamlined process, I would be happy to use his services in the future and can very much recommend him.

The timeline was totally reasonable (honestly, my slow email responses probably added more time than anything on their end), and the plans were approved by the city on the first try, which was a huge relief. It was also hard to find someone willing to take on a smaller project at a fair price, and they were very thorough. Even months later, they've still been responsive with follow-up questions from our contractor. Would definitely recommend, especially for smaller renovations or additions.

His attention to detail during the design phase was top-notch, and he provided creative solutions we hadn't even thought of, especially since this is being designed for a geriatric resident. Plans approved by the city with minimal required corrections. Not to mention, Mark spent extra time educating us about different steps of the construction process to help us build affordably and efficiently. Ken helped guide us through setting up a master plan, understanding what both our short-term and long-term goals were. From there, he was able to design a plan that sequenced things perfectly, so could take advantage of all open walls/construction. Ken also presented us a number of options for the new space, which was very productive, and ultimately we selected a plan that was an evolution of the idea my wife & I had. Ken is a collaborative architect who has a great eye for homes. The construction process was the easiest I've ever seen. Despite having to demolish an entire exterior wall, there was virtually no dust outside of the construction area. The team built a full ceiling-to-floor plastic guard to keep our kitchen and living room livable. All of the workers were exceeding polite, and left no sharp objects around (due to the fact that we have little kids). We finished on-time and on budget.
