Ramy is the best in the business! He is honest, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I had a horrible experience with a "designer" and Ramy truly came to my rescue. He gave me great advice on designs that were more cost effective and dealt with city engineers when questions and comments came up. I highly recommend Ramy to anyone needing architectural plans. read more

We had a great experience working with Ramy on our ADU project. From the very first interaction, he was extremely responsive and professional. When he came out to take measurements, he offered smart suggestions that made our project more cost-effective while also adding long-term value to our home. Ramy delivered the plans ahead of schedule and took the time to walk us through everything in person. The city of Claremont's permit requirements are very strict, and it was clear that Ramy knew what the city would require. When the city had requests we didn't agree with, he communicated directly with the city planner on our behalf and guided us through the process with confidence and clarity. You get what you pay for with Ramy--his work is high quality, detailed, and thoughtful. His expertise, responsiveness, and professionalism made a stressful process feel smooth and manageable. We highly recommend him for any home or ADU project. He is absolutely worth it. read more

Ramy is a wonderful help in our remodel. I interviewed a few architects and Ramy was the most responsive and helpful. As someone who hasn't designed a space before, Ramy knew what would be useful and had good guidance for functionality and budget. He works extremely fast and drew up & made city revisions very quickly. I appreciate his attention to detail and highly recommend him for any design work! read more

Ramy is WONDERFUL! He helped me with my plans for an ADU in Riverside County. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, courteous and professional. He answered all my questions, and I've had a lot, he knows all the local building codes and various city officials and is highly knowledgeable in the various areas related to new builds and additions! I can't say enough kind things about him but if you're looking for an architect for your project, he won't let you down! read more

We had an excellent experience working with Ramy Ibrahim of Artoo Design S2dio on the design of our ADU. From the outset, Ramy took the time to truly understand our site and our motivations for the project - specifically, creating a space to care for a parent. He carefully considered the site's constraints and opportunities, along with the real-world conditions that affect construction, and never relied on a generic, cookie-cutter approach. Ramy exceeded every timeline he set. He delivered both the initial concepts and final plans faster than promised, without sacrificing quality or completeness. He's also extremely responsive and quick to answer questions, which kept the process moving and eliminated unnecessary stress. What really distinguishes Ramy is his deep understanding of the building process and its practical realities. He designs with construction in mind, thinking in standard material sizes, anticipating how contractors will build the project, and avoiding unnecessary complications. He knows how to take a project from concept through construction, not just how to produce drawings. Just as important, Ramy's experience with the City of Riverside's permitting process helped streamline approvals and avoid delays. His familiarity with local requirements and review cycles made a complex process feel far more manageable. Ramy was also generous with his time beyond the design work, offering guidance on contractors and next steps. As this was our first building project, his calm, steady presence made a real difference and gave us confidence that we were in good hands and not navigating the process alone. Beyond his technical skill, Ramy is simply a pleasure to work with - thoughtful, respectful, and genuinely invested in his clients' success. read more

Very helpful and honest discussion about design plans and how we might stage and accomplish it.

Ramy made our process to getting our permits approved for our ADU seamless. We met with him first and he provided us with so much information, he's very well versed in city codes (we live in Rancho Cucamonga). Once we signed the contract he had our design ready very quickly. I submitted to the city and they requested only one round of revisions! I would recommend him wholeheartedly. I'm looking forward to seeing his design come to life in the coming months. Another thing I appreciated was he was very communicative and responded promptly to questions and explained his reasonings for doing things a certain way. Which I appreciated. read more

If I could give 100 stars I would! Ramy has been SUCH a pleasure to work with. He is so professional, kind, thorough, and speedy!! I collaborated with Ramy on a specialized Dental/Medical office project that required detailed knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design for accuracy installation of equipment at the end. He performed exceptionally well. Beyond his quick responses and necessary adjustments, Ramy truly cares about his work and is always available to provide support when needed. I will give him 10 out of 10 for customer service & promptness 10 out of 10 for quality of work I highly recommend him. read more

Ramy is THE BEST. He is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough. Do not hesitate to reach out to him for any questions you might have, I cannot recommend him enough. First of all, I want to say that the comments left on Ramy's Yelp review were right on point and utmost helpful. I was very pleased with Ramy's professionalism and responsiveness to every one of my emails, texts, and calls. I am a novice at home projects, however, Ramy explained the process to ensure I felt comfortable with this whole process and up to date has continued to support me all the way through. The plan process has been swift and quick on his end, unfortunately I could not say the same about the County but that was to be expected :(. However, Ramy's responsiveness to the County's questions have been quick and without delay, which brings me to the fact that I was more than excited when the County only had three (3) questions on the first turn around, WOW! That shows the type of service/product you are receiving from Ramy. The service he provided was exceptional and clean. I want to say to anyone that reads these reviews that if you are looking for someone to do a great job, be professional, responsive, clear, responsible, and through; Ramy is the guy for you! You will not regret hiring him and working with him. I look forward to working with Ramy in the near future for my next project. Thank you Ramy for a great job! It was a pleasure working with you. read more

Ramy is an amazing architect! We used him to design a custom home we are building in Big Bear Lake. We have built many homes and we have never had our plans approved so quickly and with such little revisions needing done. Even the city said that plans getting approved so fast is unheard of. We will use Ramy for every build we do from here on out. Thanks Ramy! read more

I started planning to build an ADU about a year ago. I extensively researched ADU requirements, design and construction. My first and perhaps my best decision so far was to select Ramy to design my first ADU. My selection was based on comparing other options and reading hundreds of reviews. Other less expensive options were available, but based on multiple reviews, they come with potential risks in terms of plan approval and added construction cost. So far, my choice paid off where my plans were approved by the City in a record time. After my permit application submittal, I received very minor comments from the City. Ramy addressed all comments, and made the required plan revisions in a couple of days. The resubmitted plans were accepted without any additional comments. I found Ramy to be very talented and highly qualified architect. I also found him to be vey patient, very humble and very respectful to my wishes. Even when I suggested the wrong approach, Ramy always listened without being dismissive, and found a gentle way to steer me to the right decision, which at the end both met my needs and yet was more efficient, more practical and much more elegant in design than my original approach. But what impressed me the most was the ease of communication with Ramy throughout the design project, and the permit application. I sent him many texts throughout the day from very early mornings to late evenings, during weekdays and weekends. There was no incident when he didn't respond, most of the time within seconds. Ramy also promised to be available to answer any questions related to his design during the construction process (I am looking forward to that and I am planning to update this review once construction is completed). read more

I was recommended to get a permit from our city to convert our 1 car garage to a room and that I would need an architect. I was nervous because of the expense it would take and the time it takes for the city to approve my permit. Then I found Ramy through here and was comfortable with his reviews. I called him and he is very prompt with his response, transparent with his fees and services. He will also help you and guide you through the process. It also helps that he is familiar with a lot if the inland empire cities as he has experience with them. I highly recommend him to do your plans specially if you hate going back and forth with the city. Getting Ramy eliminated that process and extra fees you might pay due to re-evaluation. Even when you are not sure, just give him a call and ask questions. read more

Ramy was a life saver for my project. Initially, We have hired designer for my healthcare construction project and it was a big mistake. Designer (drafter - not a licensed architect) took 2 months to draft the plans and then submitted to city and city gave us 33 comments back in return. My designer took another 2 months trying to resolve and finally he gave up and we had to fire him from the job. We then hired another licensed architect and he was even worst than designer. He sat on project for 3 months without doing any work just to tell us oh i did not do anything yet but i can get started on your project. I told him - you are fired. Third time will be a charm, then i found Ramy from google listing and hired him. Ramy promised me to do finish initial architectural work in 3 weeks (he did it on time without any follow up) and then said it will take another 3 to 4 weeks for MEP (he did it on time. MEP stands for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Plans including Calcs). When we submitted the plans to city - City only gave us 5 silly comments back in first round.... Second round we got 2 comments back... We just received the building permit issued yesterday 5/29/2024 to start the construction phase. Whenever we have any questions regarding projects or plans or need clarifications, I just text him and he calls me as soon as possible and resolve or help with issue. Thank you Ramy for outstanding job. 10 out of 10. Definitely recommended to anyone who is looking for solid architect who knows what he is doing. read more

Ramy epitomizes customer service, communication, knowledge, patience, and above all, an unparalleled skillset for design. It's nearly impossible to find the total package these days, but Ramy is it! We are entirely new to the home design/build process, and he has walked us through every step. We bombard him with questions, and he gets right back to us with the answers. He designed a truly beautiful home on a very challenging lot, and quite honestly he's a huge reason why we haven't decided to just throw in the towel. California State/County/City codes are dense, complex, and frustrating to navigate, and not only did we get like zero comments back on our plans from the County, but he's been super helpful translating some of the other elements that are outside of his project responsibilities. The man goes above and beyond, and we are SO grateful we found him when we did! read more

This was my first time working on a construction project and working with Ramy has been a pleasure. He has been great from the start of the plans, to getting them revised, to giving more insight on the permitting process. He has been helpful and always quick to respond to my questions. A great resource of information and experience. My ADU plans were approved after quick and minimal revisions. He always sent back corrections to the county before the deadlines and made sure to communicate with me along the way. I would highly recommend working with Ramy and look forward to working with him on my future construction planning projects. read more

We hired Ramy for an ADU garage conversion in Claremont. Ramy is patient, knowledgable and very quick in responding. He understood that we wanted a layout that had good flow, no wasted space and was cost effective for the build. He finished the plans in less than a month. We received very minimal questions from the City regarding the plans. They were able to approve it within 3 months. We haven't built the ADU yet and are currently looking for contractors. Even now, Ramy quickly responds with our contractor questions. read more

Ramy has been such a pleasure to work with. We wanted to add about a 500 sq ft addition to our home, and with an architect being the first step, I had reached out to a couple other architects prior to meeting Ramy. We did walk throughs with other architects, (and paid them a fee), but they didn't seem confident in the work we were doing. (simple master bedroom addition). Ramy came to our home and spent as much time as needed to answer all the questions we had, measured the rooms, talked through what we were looking for etc. As everyone else stated, Ramy's fees were more than the other architects but you are paying for his expertise. We wanted someone reliable, experienced and honest. I only had to do one revision with the city, Ramy was incredibly responsive and also quick to make corrections on the plans. We are very happy with our decision to hire Ramy to design our plans. read more

Hiring Ramy to design and engineer my project of a new single family residence with an attached junior ADU and a detached ADU was a great decision. He is a highly attentive professional and offers practical, implementable, design advice. The drawings of the home had few revisions with the city and he responded to them very quickly. He was with me every step of the way and made the process with plan check go smoothly. The house and ADUs are extremely aesthetic and raise the neighborhoods appeal. If you're looking for white glove architectural service, this is the right person for the job. Highly recommend. read more

I worked with Ramy again this time after I purchased another vacant land. Ramy always responded to my emails and calls quickly--he's someone who's both very patient and knowledgeable, I felt I could always rely on him. I have been in the construction industry for 37 years and have worked with many different architects and I would say Ramy rates right at the top. Timeliness, Communication, and attention to detail was top notch. He is very thorough from the time he sits down with you to determine exactly what you're looking for to putting it on paper. He is very knowledgeable of all the building codes and what it takes to get to get you a permit. I would recommend Ramy to all of the people I know in the industry for any future work they may have. I reached out to Ramy four months ago with only a dream of expanding our home to fit our growing family. Today, thanks to Ramy, I have drawings fully approved by my HOA and the city, and we are just finalizing our GC contract before we begin construction in the next month. Ramy's proposal was the highest we received, and I can confidently say it was worth every penny for the following reasons: 1. Ramy was able to come up with design solutions we couldn't have come up with ourselves. He helped us find a balance between expanding our indoor living space and preserving our backyard space to maximize functionality as well as our home value. When our HOA came back with frustrating feedback, Ramy found a way to satisfy their requests without compromising on design or square footage. 2. Ramy is extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented. More than one contractor we received bids from commented that these are the best drawings they've seen. I'm certain this is a major reason why we were able to get through the city approval process in just 1 month. 3. Ramy responded to every one of our city's comments within a day. He cares about our plans and never left us hanging, even over the weekends. 4. This is a big one. Ramy used to be a general contractor many years ago, so he designs with the construction cost and process in mind. Several contractors we talked to mentioned that architects often don't know how construction works, but none of them have had an issue with our drawings. 5. Working with our own architect gives us more control over our drawings and gives us the freedom of bidding the job out to multiple contractors (as opposed to having a contractor use their architect for the drawings, and then having no choice but to use that contractor). When we did collect bids, we found that the difference between the highest and lowest bid was astronomical. Ramy offered valuable advice on selecting contractors and has always made himself available to help answer their questions. I am so grateful to have been able to work with Ramy and I know we would not be at this point in the process without him. I am so excited to see our plans come to life. read more

We were very pleased with the architectural services that Ramy provided for our home remodel. He is very professional, answered all of our questions, and helped us nail down a final design idea. Our remodel consists of a room addition, which basically meant that our master bedroom is to be extended into the backyard. This will give us plenty of space in the interior for a bigger master bathroom, and a bigger kitchen. We will be removing a wall in order to open the space, and the rest is updating cabinets, and flooring. From the time Ramy came to our home to take his measurements and notes, to the time we received the final drawings for submittal to the city, was about 2 months. Once submitted to the city, it took just over 3 weeks to obtain permits. This includes a revision that needed to be made that the city requested. Ramy quickly made the requested revision, and I resubmitted to continue the processed. The city Engineer even commented that the drawings were really good. Ramy has continued to check up with us throughout the process. He's super easy going, professional, and available over the phone if you have any questions. I highly recommend him if you need architectural services. Thank you very much Ramy!!!! read more

My wife and I just purchased a beautiful, Mid-Century home and we wanted to remodel the kitchen, bathrooms and turn one of the bedrooms into a walk in closet. We met with a couple contractors who said they could do the work, but we weren't sure about the design ideas they presented. We debated on whether or not we should spend the money to get an architect on the project, then decided we would at least meet with some. We contacted Ramy at Artoo Design S2dio based on all of the 5-Star Reviews. I spoke with Ramy and he quoted me the price for him to do the plans and, frankly, it was more than I was expecting. I told him this and he said no problem, he can just come meet with us and charge us a design consultation fee, which was very reasonable. Let me tell you, within 10 minutes of meeting with Ramy and hearing his ideas on what we should do my wife and I knew right away, he's the man! We had given him our ideas on how to remodel the kitchen, bathrooms and turning a bedroom into a closet and then he gave us his ideas. Boy, did we feel stupid! Lol. Because after hearing his ideas we realized how much BETTER they were than the previous ideas we had been presented with by other contractors and realtors. We were so impressed with his ideas that we quickly decided to also have him do the plans for the remodel. As I mentioned earlier in my review, the price he had quoted us was more than I was expecting. But after more investigation on my part, I realized his pricing was very fair. Actually, much more than fair. After two meetings with Ramy, he quickly got busy working on the plans. He knew we needed to start right away so he got them done MUCH faster than we had even expected. After we received the plans and showed them to the three contractors we were getting bids from, all three of them mentioned how detailed the plans were and they were easily able to give us bids based mainly on Ramy's plans. Oh, and one bonus for us, when we purchased the home we purchased it based on it being 2,000 square feet. However, when Ramy went through the entire house, he found us an EXTRA 400 FEET! That means our home is actually just over 2,400 square feet, not the 2,000 square feet we thought it was. That means he increased our home's value by about $200,000.00!! Now if that's not a bonus, I don't know what is!! We have now begun the remodel process and any time our contractor needs to ask a question of Ramy, Ramy always responds in a timely fashion. Hontestly, I can't say enough great things about our experience with Ramy. We have scrapped all of our original ideas and are only using his. So, if you need an architect to do plans for a new home, remodel, or you just need some ideas to get you going, Ramy is the man to call! Believe me, he's the best and you won't regret it. Thanks Ramy!! read more

LA County told me the wait for a Planning Check was 8-10 weeks and we just got ours back in 3 weeks without any changes! It really shows what a great architect Ramy is. Also, we're definitely going to go with one of his recommended General Contractors. We interviewed both of them, and their referrals have been glowing. We're in a tough position, but in a good way. Getting a solid and reliable General Contractor is more than half the battle, so we're so thankful for the recommendations. I had Ramy help me with design of a D-ADU. Since the very first call he has been great. The most important thing about customer service is actual service. He is so patient and really gives you details about your project. I've spent a lot of time on the phone and in person with him and he never pressures me or rushes me in the conversation. Also he answers his phone and texts in a timely manner! Try that with other architects. Any question I have he is happy to answer and he always keeps you in the loop. I will continue to give him my business because he is always a phone call away and he takes his time to give me information Im looking for. I will also reiterate that he is easy to talk to and very nice. His replies are not "one word answers". He is detailed and gives you the info you need. It was awesome working with Artoo Design S2dio. They are very professional and very helpful, their services where great.

Ramy is worth every 5-star rating. We were initially cautious with all his positive raves because after interviewing 3 previous architects we were frustrated with the whole process. Ramy is truly knowledgable, quick to respond, helpful and most importantly, listens to our needs. He's not pushy or arrogant when it comes to working with us to really help us bring our stressful project to life. We're doing big home remodel with a 400 sq ft addition and so happy that our plans were approved so quickly. Everyone talks about how clean his plans are and it's true, we only had 1 minor revision on the plans. This fist half of the planning process is complete and we're so pleased to have chosen Ramy. Now on-to the construction phase. Thanks Yelpers for all your honest feedback because without you we would not have found Ramy! read more

I called this place to ask for some work to be done on a land that I'm interested in buying. Rami answered. He spent 1 hour on the phone explaining every aspect I should be looking at before buying the land. He looked at the architect work that I received from my real estate agent who will absolutely fool you so they can get the sale done. He helped me read it through. He told me where to go, what to ask and how to deal with the city to get the right permits. Rami not only helped me with all of these things, Rami did this all for free because he told me I didn't need him and what I had was enough. It's 2022! Who can find someone willing to give this much of their time to help other? I remember I went to New York city. This is a review of the services Ramy provided regarding his expertise on possible foundation issues, and load bearing wall. During our remodel project, a decision had to be made regarding a wall, as well as the foundation. There was a crack in the foundation after older tiles were removed. Contractor time, our time, and money was on the line once I had this issue come up. This was right before the holiday weekend, and I sought immediate help. Ramy quickly took the time to answer some of my questions and concerns. After the conversation, we still wanted to make 100% sure we can continue with the project and was hoping we can wait until Ramy was available. Ramy not only made time during his vacation time to come to our home and make sure things are okay, and his professionalism is outstanding. Knowledge is everything when it comes to these types of issues. The fee is reasonable and comparable to most, but what cannot be matched is the knowledge of the particular situation, as well as articulating that to a novice home owner.
