Ai response that waste my time, the proposed price was high and too many limitations on design and easily got additional service charge, need to read carefully. read more

I didn't end up hiring Jean-Prescott Studio, because their services were more than what I needed, but I wasn't sure about that until I talked to them. Their welcome kit and process was very professional. Kevin was an extremely good/clear communicator and he was not high pressure at all. If my design needs were more extensive, I most definitely would have loved to work with them. read more

This is the second time Jean-Prescott Studio has helped me with architectural plans and they were just as amazing this time as the last time. I don't know what more I can say about Jeannice and Kevin's Professionalism, Quality of Work and Integrity than I said in my last review. The bottom line is they are both Extraordinary Human Beings and it's been an honor to work with a team that does what they say they will do and are impeccable with Details and Timelines! read more

I had a full set of plans from a previous contractor/architect that I ended up not moving forward with for various reasons. It's overwhelming to work City of Garden Grove - so I reached out to various companies who quoted me significantly higher prices just to submit the plans to the city for validation. Fortunately, Jean & Kevin were able to come through with reasonable pricing and did the work to submit the plans to the city for me. They've been a pleasure to work with - and I will likely come back and use them for future projects on the house. read more

This studio advertises in a category they do not legally belong to. I contacted them for a large project requiring an architectural license, but when I presented the project scope, the studio did not disclose up front that they do not hold any structural, architectural, or contractor licenses in the State of California. When I specifically asked for the name of the licensed professional of record who would legally stamp the plans, the studio did not provide one. State records reveal no architect or contractor license for the firm or owner Jeannice Carrillo. Their representative Kevin confirmed in writing he is not an architect--despite their website claiming "100% California Licensed" and their Yelp profile advertising under the "Architects" category. If indeed, they don't have any licensed staff, then under CA Business & Professions Code §5536, they run into a risk of unlawfully advertising using "architectural" terms. You can cross-reference these claims yourself on the California Architects Board database. I do not recommend them due to the massive risk asymmetry in this type of partnership. If structural problems surface later, the client stands to lose everything financially and legally, while an unlicensed studio has no credentialed principal risking a professional license or holding primary liability. Always confirm the licensed professional of record before signing. I do give them two stars because they sound pretty convincing. Licensing and advertising laws protect the public before any contract is signed, so a formal agreement is not required to comment on misleading marketing. Under California Business & Professions Code § 5536, an unlicensed person may not advertise or hold themselves out in any way that indicates to the public they are an architect or qualified to practice architecture. Title 16 CCR § 134 further prohibits using "architect" or "architecture" in a business name or description of services unless a California licensee is in management control of the firm's professional services.Regarding records: our mutual written correspondence and screenshots confirm that when I asked for the name of the licensed professional of record for this structural project, none was provided, and your representative stated in writing that he is not a licensed architect. To keep this exchange transparent and fully documented, I decline any phone consultations. Please simply reply here in writing with the exact legal name of your licensed entity and its active California architect license number. If a valid firm or individual license exists, it resolves the matter instantly. If it cannot be provided, the concern regarding your advertising remains factually accurate. read more

I can't recommend Kevin and the team at Jean-Prescott Studio enough. I came in thinking I needed expensive new permits, but Kevin actually saved me a significant amount of money by giving me honest advice. He suggested tearing the structure down to the original and obtaining the existing prints from the city instead of starting from scratch. It's rare to find someone who prioritizes the client's wallet over their own bottom line. Professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. read more

Ive contacted so many people pertaining to my issue as it involves dealing with city issues, lawyer needs, blue print needs, ADU needs and more so yes and eviction needs so things have been a little chaotic but yes Kevin the moment I spoke with him he was the best. He went above and beyond and what he told me to do was absolutely correct even though he was not going to get my blue print business asa he told me to negotiate my tenant and "pay the fidller" and after going rounds with the city, lawyers, architects he could not have been more accurate as to which was to go to get rid of a non paying tenant. Even though Kevin deals with offering blue print he offer a much more valueable service to me which was honestly. If I end up needing blue prints this will be my company I will be using. I thank you SIr. read more

I found this company through Thumbtack, and they reached out very quickly, and I spoke to Kevin, and he went above and beyond with giving me the necessary information that I needed, and it turns out that I didn't need an architect, but instead an MEP Engineer, and that's something their company doesn't do, but they referred me to an MEP Engineer, so I'm very grateful for Jean-Prescott Studio, for going out of their way to make sure I was in the right hands, for giving me the contact that I needed, and for giving me information. Thank you! If I ever need a designer/architect, I will reach out to Jean-Prescott Studio, and I will also recommend this company to anyone that asks. read more

Kia of Pomona did an outstanding job meeting our needs on the purchase of our new Kia EV9!! They beat every other dealership hands down.

Kevin with this firm was very helpful and accommodating in getting our questions answered by the city as we were moving through the initial query stages of our project. My husband had already been down to the city and asked some initial questions there, but we wanted to get more detailed answers. Unfortunately, a local firm in the project city (recommended by our contractor) had been stringing us along (for 4 weeks), giving us vague, incomplete answers then being non-responsive when we asked for clarification. That first firm wanted us to pay them $1200 "to throw some quick plans together to get our questions answered by the city" (which they said would, "of course be waived against the total fees once we progressed through the project"). Well, Kevin actually went down to the city and asked the questions for us, and the answers he got were in complete contradiction to the answers we had been given by the first architect which were also in complete surprise to the planner there! The bottom line is that we are unable to move forward with the project we had in mind. Kevin took care of us quickly and at no cost! Will definitely keep this firm in mind as we move forward with other projects. read more
