So I took this class to to renew my certification and because it was conveniently located on the UCR campus. I have taken other BLS classes were all we did was watch a bunch of long boring videos and it didn't really prepare me for the hospital setting. The BLS course with UCR ASO instructors was more hands-on and the class was fun! The best part about the course is the staff actually prepare you for the real-world and you get your certification card as soon as you complete the course. Have you ever seen someone drowning and thought to pull them out? Know how to save their life? Well I do now. Not breathing, how do you know? Check for chest rise and fall. Check pulse using the carotid artery. Administer 30 chest compressions at 100bpm and then 2 breaths to the non breathing victim. Rinse and repeat until emergency medical services arrive. I was so happy to find out that UCR was having a BLS for Healthcare Providers class on campus. They made the class very fun and interactive, which is great for learning! The instructor, Jonathan Phung, was professional, entertaining and very knowledgable. Overall I am very satisfied with the class and to top it off we get our cards right on the spot! Very great CPR program. The advisors go very much in depth with great situations on how the patients would become incapable of breathing. My class was quite large but they had enough patients to practice on. They prepare you very well for the rest you take after the class. They also give you access to a study guide you may access post registration. The test is exactly what they go over and more so they tell you in depth what is key to remember. read more

This First Aid CPR AED class & certification was VERY helpful & informative. This was my first time taking a course like this & I would recommend it to everyone I know. The instructors knew exactly what they were talking about & allowed us to get hands on during the CPR portion, which helped put the knowledge & information to the test. I also enjoyed the First Aid portion because we were able to learn how easy it really is to use an AED machine in emergency situations.
